Very disappointed in best cleaners North Haven. They were unable to take out the yellow stains on my hoodie and they messed up the X on my Polo black watch shirt. When I lived in Middletown I used to smoke and had a few clothing items with smoke stains and best cleaners in Middletown were able to remove stains. Looks like I'll be driving all the way to Middletown from New Haven.

I dropped off four pieces of clothing to be dry-cleaned and specifically asked for all the lint to be removed — which they said they could do. When I picked them up the next day, I paid $40 only to find all the lint still there. I pointed it out to the lady at the counter, and she was very rude about it. She said there was nothing she could do except redo them. I asked what would happen if they redid them and the lint actually came off, and she repeated that there’s still nothing else she could do. When I asked to speak with the manager, she told me to “come back tomorrow” and walked away. Completely unprofessional. I basically paid for nothing and was treated poorly on top of it. Never coming back.

The work was done professionally, I had a pair of jeans altered. The personnel were terrific. The only reason I didn't do a five-star is because I was given one day to have the alteration done but it took longer than expected. I would have been happy to know that in the beginning and I think the only reason that I was not told was because one shop did not speak to the other letting them know that the seamstress was out sick and so work was going to be delayed for a couple of days. It was disappointing as I have a sick husband who I could not explain to why the date was changed. Other than that I would definitely use Best cleaners again.

There is nothing negative to say about this place, from the drive thru, super quick service and free military uniform cleaning.. I’m extremely lucky that this location is so convenient to where I live. Thank you Best Cleaners!

Hemming...Wow I was totally caught off guard, I bought 2 pairs of shorts (and not to confuse any ESL people thats 2 shorts not 4) off amazon $30 dollars each they were linen and they fit well but were 4 inches too long both identical just different colors so I brought them to best cleaners in North Haven to be hemmed. I went 2 weeks prior to needing the shorts but the tailor was off so I went back Monday morning at 10am hoping to have them by Friday. The tailor made a little fuss about maybe having too much to do and coming close to maybe not being able to accommodate but ended up saying he could have them ready. After trying them on so he could measure and determining I needed 4 inches taken off we walked to the counter to write them up the tailor said it would be $24.95 I took $30 dollars out of my pocket to pay and he said no you have to take this slip to the front and she'll ring you up. I did just that and tried to pay at the front but was told you pay when you pick them up and was given a claim tag and off I went . When I returned to pick up my shorts at the end of the week I brought my claim tag to the front and the very nice lady ( mind you everyone is nice in there)  rang me up to the tune of $49.90 I quickly questioned her as to if she entered the price twice by accident and she confirmed it was correct at $49.90 to which I was in awe but of course I paid and still in awe as I turned to leave saw the tailor and said to him " I appreciate you getting these done on time just wondering was it $25 each or total?" His response was "no they are $24.95 each" and I just walked out fuming. Never in my life have I brought multiple items to a cashier for them to tell me how much half of them cost furthermore these are linen shorts similar to cotton easily cut with scissors and fine thread to hem not half as hard as Jean material that might require a heavy duty cutter and thick thread . Literally a tailor could do 100 of these hems in an 8 hour or less shift that's it's unacceptable to charge someone $311 dollars an hour to hem clothes . On top of that I gave the gentleman $10 bucks when I first went in because I was under the impression that I was asking more of him to have a 10 minute job done within 5 days so the total I paid for the alterations was the very same cost of the shorts. I could have just ordered another 2 pair off amazon and returned the originals. FYI I called my now retired seamstress mother and told her she might want to think about coming out of retirement because she could be making $2500 per day just hemming pants and shorts.
