Acct# OA 4751- I’ve used OakHill Dry Cleaning twice for laundry and ironing pick up service. While the first experience was fine, during my second pickup I was unexpectedly charged dry cleaning prices for three shirts that were only meant for wash and press. All shirts were clearly labeled for machine washing—none required dry cleaning.
Worse, one of the shirts that was dry cleaned came back damaged—the seam lines (see pics attached), likely made of a different fiber, turned noticeably darker than the rest of the shirt. I contacted them through their website, left two voicemails, and submitted a direct complaint requesting a refund for the $30 overcharge and compensation for the damaged item. I have yet to receive any response.
Very disappointed, especially from a BBB-accredited business. Poor communication and lack of accountability have cost them my future business.

An extremely average experience. We only used the wash/dry/fold for a few weeks. One week we received items in our washing that weren't our own, and two weeks after we stopped sending clothes to be washed I received a few extra items back that I didn't notice had been missing. Who knows if they lost anything else because we sent a lot of stuff while waiting for our new washer. We had initially used them for some drycleaning a while back which seemed fine, however we will be moving on to a more organized shop now.

My delicate antique wedding dress came out beautifully. I was worried that it might not go thru the cleaning process well due to its age and intricate lace work, I was wrong ! Oak Hill did incredible work and the dress looks brand new. The owners are friendly and kind.

The quality of the dry cleaning itself was fine, but the customer service left a lot to be desired. Being new to the area, this was only my second visit—and unfortunately, the woman at the counter was quite rude. She made an unnecessary comment about my garment bag not being one of theirs, which felt a bit unwelcoming.

I also called three days after drop-off to politely ask if my items might be ready early (knowing the original ticket said six days), and was met with a condescending reply: ‘No, you should’ve dropped it off earlier if you needed it by Monday.’ I understand if items aren’t ready early, but there’s no need to make a customer feel foolish for simply asking.

Given the high cost of dry cleaning, I expected a more courteous interaction. We’ll be looking for a different cleaner moving forward

Extremely poor, extremely poor customer service. Had to say that twice. Extremely expensive curtains that came back twice still With stain and pressed completely different than what I requested. Buyer beware!

I’ve been going to this dry cleaner for over 20 years. I dropped off a full sized comforter with a very small tear in it less than an inch in length. I picked up my comforter today and the bill was $63-$15 for the repair and 43 for dry cleaning.
I could buy a new comforter for this amount. I find this amount outrageous and I will never ever go back to Pratt Abbott in Scarborough. Their greed cost them a customer.

Maine Street Laundromat Scarborough

This is a pretty decent laundromat, there is a lot of potential. It appears it may be under new management, I cannot tell for certain based on previous reviews or the website.

The outside sign says "Moonlight Cleaners Laundromat Drycleaning." I believe they dropped the drycleaning but they will offer dropoff service for laundry in the near future. This is a 24 hour location.

The machines are priced equally with other laundromats and they seem to offer longer wash times. My only issue with this location is that the folding tables are in strange locations. Once they hammer down a good floorplan for everything I think it will be my new preferred location. Also you can run next door for pizza if you are washing before 9:30 pm.

Edit- 3 months later: just had a nasty encounter with I’m guessing is a worker here. Extremely rude to my little sisters and I. Blaming us for a mess that has been there since we first alive. I did not like how he talked to me or yelled at my little sister to sit down.  Don’t think I will be coming here again.

Edit 2- got told I make a mess everytime I come here. Which is completely false. The guy was super rude to me told me I can not come here anymore. I’ve been coming here for months with no problems. Til the last time and this time.  I got told I can not come here anymore, I really liked this laundromat, it’s really quiet and soothing and now because of that rude guy they lost a customer.

I've been coming here for a few weeks now to do my laundry. I'm from out of state and currently here for work, so having a nice place where I can feel safe going to do my laundry is reassuring. It's great that it's open 24/7 too! The machines are nice and are effective. They take cash or card. The seating area is really small, but I don't mind just sitting in the car. It's handicap accessible as well for those that may need it. They keep the place pretty clean too, which is a huge bonus.

This laundromat is a little pricier than the others in the area but it is by far the cleanest and most well kept.

I haven’t tried the wash and fold service but I am very grateful all the machines are in good working order and haven’t messed up any of my clothes. There’s not a whole lot of amenities like some of the others (not sure why one needs a tanning booth but do you Mainers), but the machines accept both coin and cards.

Love this spot! Nothing better than killing time by grocery shopping or grabbing a slice next door. Well run establishment!

The machine in the photo took my money and the one next to it took another guys money and wouldnt start. There's no one working there, no phone number to contact anyone. The dryers don't work -half are broken. I took my wet clothes from another washer to a different laundromat to dry. After I added my clothes to the first machine with the soap, I couldn't get it to start and had to move my clothes with laundry soap all over them to another machine, in hopes, that one will work. It did but it didn't spin the water out. The clothes were very wet and heavy and I was to tired to care. I took them to another laundromat. Please beware. No one works there at all. There's a few cameras that's it.

I started using this laundromat without really reading any reviews, and that was definitely a mistake.

There’s a guy who’s always hanging around late at night. I don’t think he officially works there, but he’s always running his own laundry and kind of acting like he’s in charge. He’s not helpful, not friendly — just really unpleasant. Honestly, something feels off about him. I haven’t had a direct conversation with him, but the way he watches people… it’s unsettling. Like he’s looking for a reason to start something. Not with everyone, but you can tell.

But the real issue? Stuff goes missing. I’m not even sure how — you toss your clothes in, go about your business, and then later realize a shirt’s gone… or a sheet… or worse, your underwear. And I’m not talking about once — it happened multiple times over the few months I used this place.

It’s frustrating and honestly kind of sad. I mean, who steals from a laundromat? It’s not like this is some luxury place — it’s for regular people just trying to get their laundry done.

One item that disappeared had sentimental value. It was a gift brought from overseas, and losing it hurt more than I expected. It wasn’t about money — it meant something to me.

If I could give this place a rating lower than one star, I would. I don’t understand how anyone comes back after one visit — or reads these reviews and still gives it a shot.

All I can say is: be careful. Especially with small or personal items. Regular visits to this place might slowly empty out your closet.

I don’t have less than 1 star to rate this place I lost 20$ in total and washer sucks. It didn’t wash or soak my clothes and it’s full of water. Washers with open lids are not working. There not contact number to reach out regarding the issue.

24 hours and affordable, but one of the machines took my coin but wouldn’t turn on. Had to move the wash load to another machine and add more cleaner. When I went to look for a contact number there was none.

This has got to be the WORST laundromat in the world. Over half of the washing machines AND dryers are out of service and never get fixed. The washing machines that kinda work don't ring out your clothes, so they come out drenched, and you never know which of the dryers that kinda work are actually going to dry your clothes properly. Also, BOTH of the coin machines STEAL your money! You barely get half the amount of quarters as the amount of cash you put in, if you get any quarters back at all! I will never be coming back here and if I could give this place 0 stars, I would. While the Scarborough Laundromat is more pricey, at least most of their machines work consistently.

So glad I started coming to this place instead of my old spot. Plenty of parking, tons of washers and dryers, always very clean and quiet. Cash only, so make sure to hit up an ATM before getting there.

Nice, clean, small or big loads. Price is fair for laundry. Clothes came out clean and dryers are great. Laundry baskets and tables for use if you fold there.

If I could give a zero I would. All machines are overpriced and machines are not that big. The dryers are an absolute ripoff. You’re supposed to get 5mins for 25 cents but it’s more like 2 mins. Just horrible, clothes are still damp after $2.00. Stay clear of this place if possible

This is a nice, clean and well maintained Laundromat. The washers and dryers looked to be fairIy new. I also enjoyed the fact that it stays open late til 10 PM.

My favorite laundromat, I live next to another and still choose the 20 minute drive to use this one. Every time I’m there I see who I’m assuming is the owner cleaning thoroughly, the machines never seem to be broken and I’ve never had to wait to use a washing machine/dryer. Only once was it busy, but it was a Sunday afternoon, I did that to myself. The machines are coin-op which seems to keep the prices low and reasonable, I once had to pay $8.75 for a regular sized load with a credit card machine (somewhere else). A cycle in the heaviest-load machine here is only $5.75. The machines also seem to be cleaned/maintenanced regularly, which gives me a lot of assurance that my clothes are actually getting clean. Will come here for as long as I live in the greater Portland area!

We have used Pratt Abbott at the Westgate mall for years. I do not have complaints, however, I do praise the attendants who have worked there. New faces pop up but they are always courteous. I will continue to use this location. When they you day your clothes will be ready, quite often it is ready a day or two earlier. Great customer service.

I've been a customer of Fred Abbott for a long time. My go to store is always Westgate. The people there are very very nice especially the lady older lady with the gray hair. She's always very very helpful.

The young lady was amazing, both, upon dropping off my skirt, as well as when I picked it up. She even remembered something I had said when I dropped it off and it was about two weeks ago.

When I was there last evening, there was a toddler and small child who were not well attended by the parents. While I would have found it very annoying, she was patient and kind, then nicely blocked off the area in which the kids didn't belong.  She kept the kids safe, despite the parents not caring.

We've been using Pratt Abbott for years. They do good work. Since I am heading to Scotland next week, I needed my kilt to look sharp. Pratt Abbott did a wonderful job - the pleats were perfect and crisp and the kilt was carefully pinned and hung. Kudos to Pratt Abbott!

I went there to wash and the city is mostly surrounded by foreigners, the way the manager talk to the customers and cursing them out is really sad and horrible! She is very rude as a visitor are traveler this is not a good look. I wish the owner would know how she sound, need better boundaries and need to be ran properly!

Best staffing of any laundromat in Portland. Good wash dry fold and pickup service. If you can, talk to an attendant about which machines to use, they will be super helpful and generous with you.

We were staying at the Westin and needed laundry done. Lighthouse picked it up at 2pm and dropped off before 8 am the next day and was super reasonably priced. The clothes are folded so beautifully I am afraid to even use them as we continue on our travels. I highly recommend their survive!

Soap Bubble Laundromat

I understand accidents happen - but third is the THIRD that my clothes have come back STAINED after using Soap Bubble's Wash Dry and Fold service. (Not dirty, stained and set!! Stains that weren't there before!) Buyer beware!

Storytime: Recently, the owners of Soap Bubble purchased the only laundromat on my street, and immediately ran it down. Most machines are completely broken, many eat cash, and none of the quarter dispensers work anymore. I started going to Soap Bubble out of desperation, and now have to walk a half a mile with my bags of laundry when my commute used to be just around the corner.

I only do WDF as a special treat for a long month, when I'm too tired to make the trek. It's heartbreaking when there's irreversible damage to clothes that I love when I'm trying to do something nice for myself, especially when I know the owners of this business created the problem to begin with.

You've left me with no options and permanently damaged clothes, soap bubble. Do better!!

I really loved this laundromat and had been going since I moved to Portland about 6 months ago. I’ve never had an incident until now. I was trying to get change for the machines and was heckled by a worker and continually misgendered after correcting her. I pointed to where my laundry was and kept trying to get change. She continually proceeded to misgender me and I gave up trying to get quarters, took my clothes out of the dryer and left. I will state I could’ve explained myself more but I had just left my job for misgendering me. I am very tired this week and just wanted to do laundry.

Easy access laundry, easy to find, you’ll get soap and other detergents. Washer and dryer. Helpful stuff that are eager to help.

I have been coming here for almost two years and the short woman who works here is extremely rude. She will see you struggling with the quarter machine and refuse to turn it on and watch you struggle with it. Today I went to get quarters to put in the dryer, and we repeated the process above. After we went back and forth she asked me where my laundry was. I told her it was in the washing machine. She asked me again where it was. I told her it is in the washing machine and I need quarters so I can put them in dryer. She then wordlessly turned on the machine and I got my quarters. They also raised the prices without prior notice for the wash dry fold, giving me a slip with a note on how they are having a new price AFTER we dropped it off days before. If they told me the price was changing when we dropped our clothing off, we would not have done so. The same woman also nearly hit my boyfriend with her car and promised to discount his laundry for not saying anything (didn’t happen btw)! There is no need to be this bitter and rude to people who have said nothing to you in a laundromat.

When I dropped off my wedding gown to be cleaned (not preserved) in November, no one gave me a ticket. Apparently it's not their practice.  I called back immediately in a mild panic realizing I had just left a very expensive and irreplaceable garment at the clearner's with no documents to prove it was there. The person at the desk was extremely rude to me when. I finally got through, I eventually did get confirmation via email. It took 3 months for the dress to come back to me.  When it was returned today I could not believe what terrible shape it was in.  It is covered in dust and debris like someone dragged it on the floor before putting it in the garment bag. There are still several spots on it, and it is extremely wrinkled  (surprising because it is made from a highly wrinkle resistant fabric.  $215 and it looks worse than it did when I dropped it off.

My rehearsal dinner dress was also completely ruined by this cleaner in November (which I did not realize until I also left my wedding dress with them).  When I eventually retrieved the dress and put it on to attend a family member's wedding, I was horrified to find the fabric in the bodice had been so roughly scrubbed that it left permanent waves and ridges on the chest, rendering the dress totally unwearable.

These two garments were not just things I had hoped to keep and wear again -- they were precious to me and have been utterly destroyed.  I cannot begin to explain my heartache knowing my custom made wedding gown cannot be worn again or passed down .

After reading other stellar reviews of Angela Emery and the team at Pratt Abbott, I knew I would be in good hands.  I brought them my gorgeous (but pretty heavily soiled!) wedding dress and cathedral-length veil after our August wedding in Maine.  It was an outdoor ceremony and reception the day after a hurricane, so not only was there a 6-inch coating of mud and dirt up the hem of the dress, I also had some self-tanner staining in the underarms.  My veil, which I had dragged around the woods and meadows for photography, had everything from burrs to bugs tangled up in it.

The deep, careful cleaning process took a few months, but I was in no hurry to get my dress back.  When I was able to pick it up, I was stunned at the job Angela and the team had done.  My dress looked just like the day I had taken it home from my final fitting! I'm still deciding what I want to do with it, but if I decide to preserve it, I'll definitely bring it back to Angela!

One of the worst customer service experiences ever. I recently moved to an apartment building that has one of the local Pratt Abbott locations provide a pick up/drop off service. I was driving past so I figured I'd stop in and see if it was this location so I could open an account. The response I got was "We don't do that here." in a rude way. That's fine, no problem. I asked if she knew which location might do that for my building and her response was "It's like you're trying order a cake at the meat department" while rolling her eyes. Uh, what?? I just left and won't use the other location's pick up/drop off service now. How someone like that keeps her job is beyond me.

Brought in a sweatshirt that the stitching on the pocket has started to come undone. Was told it would be ready on November 13th!! I asked why it couldn't be done quickly right there and was told they didn't have time. All while I was watching two employees sitting at sewing machines on their cellphones! A good company would have said " let us zip that up quick for you, hold on a few minutes." I even offered to pay extra. I'll never go here again!

Highly recommend. The only place you should take your wedding dress for cleaning.

Prices are very reasonable.

Radley's Laundromat

Cons:Place could definitely use a good cleaning floors, windows, walls, machines. Some of the washers have mold. One of the dryers broke while I was using it. There was no Attendant to help. They leave a phone number but don't answer. Pros: They have huge washers that can fit 4 to 5 loads and they're located right next to several stores

I've been coming here since I moved to Old Orchard Beach in January of 2025. I've been to a lot of laundromats all across the country. Complaints that this place is expensive are misplaced. It is average. I wash 30 lbs for $5.25 and dry it for $2.50. Nothing wrong with that!

But today, I was blown away by the extra effort of one of the employees. Sunday is my only day to do all my chores, and I'd left my clothes in the dryer while I did some grocery shopping. I was trying to get everything done so I could actually relax for a while before the new week began. I got back to the laundromat and walked in prepared for 15 minutes of folding...

But I could not believe my eyes, there was my load of laundry clean and folded; right there at the folding table. The very friendly woman I had met previously was working on this day and she took the initiative of actually folding y clothes for me.

I almost teared up! I asked her if there was a problem or if the dryer door had opened? She said "No, I just thought I'd help expedite your day." She wouldn't take a tip. She made my whole day--my whole weekend!

There is still human kindness and loving forethought in the world. This may seem like a small things but it sent huge waves of hope through my heart. I was too shocked to get her name. (She has long brown hair and a pretty smile.)

Please give this place a lot of business. Service is not just about the little amount we pay. It is about the giants amount we receive from those who care about what they do.

Went today for the first time because two of the laundromats closest to me were completely full. I was very happy with my experience. No waits, plenty of machines, clean, well maintained facility. The lady working there (not sure if owner or employee) went far above & beyond, helpful both on the phone when I called to make sure they had machines available, & during my entire time there. She seemed to take great pride in her job there, & providing a pleasant experience.

Place is really clean, prices are okay.
They have coin machines, machines can take 1,5,10,20$ and you get 25c coins  and you can buy detergent for 1$ in coins.
Cheapest washing machine they have is 4,25$.

Their washers sometimes work.. half the dryers get hot so you'll likely be moving around from one dryer to another until you find one that works..

Yeah and when you call and ask for help, the woman who answers is rude and unprofessional.

I was there a few weeks ago and I paid with the app.. a week later, I tried to pay with the app as well but it wasnt working so I called them and they told me the app has not worked for a year.. well, I just used it last week, number one.. number two, if you believe the app doesn't work, why are there still signs everywhere promoting the app?
Oh, nothing they can do to help me, of course.

Machines eat your quarters. also it was like $6 for one wash?? and that's not including drying or detergent. this shit is a scam. Avoid like the plague

DONT GO HERE.  This place steals your money on machines that don’t even work.  When I called the laundromat, the employee gave me a phony email of their supposed “manager”.  Please don’t waste your time at this place and use other laundromats in the Portland area.  A scam of a business.

DO NOT GO HERE- half of the dryers have out of service stickers and the rest simply won't take a quarter! Soap Bubble must have bought this place for nearly as little as i could get into a machine ( about 75 cents between two dryers)

Always a mess, change machines/card app constantly down and if employees are there they act like you’re an inconvenience to them.

Any and all contact information has been scrubbed — Soap Bubble now owns it, and act like it’s not worth their time.
