I sent in my $3,000 wedding gown that came back to me in an all around white and taped up box. When opened, my dress was destroyed with tears, missing a button and the only slight stains remained that I needed cleaned in the first place. I paid $200 to have my dress destroyed, bunched and crinkled up in a box, with zero stain removal. Shown in the first 3 photos are the dress upon opening it from lapels after the 1st visit to be cleaned. I immediately brought the dress back and requested to speak to a manager when I was handed a business card and made to try to catch her on her own convenient time. After 3 days of trying to reach the manager I was kindly granted an email where I was told even a partial refund would be refused and so I sent my mother to pick up the gown as I was upset and unwilling to deal with the lack of professionalism the staff shows. The stains were removed yes, but that is because it is evident they CUT MY DESIGNER GOWN by over 1 ft at the very least. Added tiny strings to try to cover up the hack job, and slapped a tatttered button in place of the flawless one they lost (compared in photos). Through this whole process I received only one phone call from lapels only asking whether or not I picked up my dress .. I mean seriously, they are so unorganized they can not figure out who picked up items from their store or not? Never asked if they can cut my dress down or remove fabric of any kind, never called by the manager when I left my number twice with store employees. This has to be a joke, the entire dress is quite basically ruined unless I now spend more of my own money at a seamstress because they took scissors to my gown without consent. Pictures below of what is now the bottom of the front of a $3,000 Oleg Cassini custom wedding gown.

It's the first time I've used the mending service at Lapels. I bought a pair of work pants that were 4 inches too long and wanted them trimmed. I was impressed with the quality of hemming, as it was just as if they bought off the rack. I will definitely use their service again as needed. Very professional.

DESTROYED a $3,000 designer gown leaving it like this after I asked them to re-clean, they instead decided to cut the stains off completely. Absolutely terrible management and employees. Paid $200 for this..

Been using the Kingston, MA Lapels for quite some time and they have become incredibly rough with the clothes. Buttons are constantly being damaged on collars and if you forget to undo a button before sending it in, consider it gone! Today I put my suit on only to notice a snag in the pants and both front buttons melted! Like seriously this is how you treat an expensive suit? And no one notices that hey we melted this guys buttons off his jacket? Still awaiting manager response…

Good price but inconsistent quality of service. Been going here for a couple years. Most of my orders were fine. However, I will be taking my business elsewhere as the service has become inconsistent. More than once I asked for alterations that weren’t made. Multiple shirts in multiple orders including my last two cleanings had pressed in wrinkles up the middle of the shirt. I asked for a refund on my last order and was declined. To be fair, they offered a credit to make it right and said they would redo the order. However, I don’t feel it’s worth the extra time and effort as I’m not optimistic that the situation won’t repeat itself.
