Friendly staff and fast service — I’ll give them that. However — and this is a huge however — the entire place reeks of damp, and now, so do my coats. After the first pickup, I was in complete shock. The coats that were supposed to come back fresh smelled absolutely vile — like someone who’s been living rough had curled up in them for days. They still do. We sprayed them with Febreze, aired them outside overnight twice, and nothing. The smell is baked in. My husband even took them back to be re-done, picked them up yesterday… and guess what? Still disgusting. I'm furious. These coats weren’t even visibly dirty. I only took them in to freshen them up. I deeply regret it. They’ve gone from smelling like Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci to stinking like Larry the homeless guy turned them into his personal bedding. This was my first time trying dry cleaning. And it’s safe to say — NEVER again. £40 wasted, and now I’m thinking of donating my beautiful coats because I physically can’t wear them without gagging. I’m beyond disappointed. I’m pissed off. Furious. Disgusted.

My wife took her wedding dress to be cleaned and when it returned, the bottom of the dress had a cut part as you can see in the picture below. I went to the shop to ask for an explanation, the shop assistant said they had nothing to say about it and could not do anything about this issue. Also, we asked them to be careful with the dress, because it is very delicate. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone! The service is very poor, very expensive and they do not take care with our item! We chose them because we thought they were professionals, but I regret it.

Normally l would have travelled a short distance to Congleton to Johnsons The Cleaners. However they have closed so decided for the first time to go out of my way to the branch in Newcastle under Lyme. Although I looked at the reviews beforehand and noticed a few had given an unfavourable review, I based my experience on previous dealings with the branch in Congleton. I had a bespoke suit to be cleaned with a bespoke dress shirt. The young lady assistant was very helpful and professional. I collected my suit and shirt the next day after receiving a text that the garments were ready. I could not have wished for a better service and so pleased to have my suit and shirt back without any issues. Well done team, excellent work. I cannot understand why there are a few negative reports. My personal view is Johnsons The Cleaners in Newcastle under Lyme are an exceptional team and have no hesitation in bringing my other bespoke to them for their professional service. 😉👍
