I'm a customer of Swiss Cleaners in Vernon, CT. Today I went in to pick up my clothes and met Stephen. He was very nice and very polite! I didn't have my receipt and he smiled and said no worries and looked me up. He also took time to update my phone number. I complimented him on his great customer service skills and his professionalism! Thank you Stephen!

I went to Swiss Cleaners (Hartford Turnpike in Vernon) believing I needed a new zipper in my almost new Eddie Bauer winter (puffer) coat.  Stephen was behind the counter. He greeted me with a smile and was willing to look at my coat and zipper before I completed the paperwork for a new zipper.
He noticed that my coat had two zipper parts that should have been together in order to zip the coat. I hadn't noticed this.  As Stephen paired the two parts of the zipper, the zipper traveled the teeth without a problem!!!

Stephen took the time to work with me and saved me a needless zipper replacement expense.

This place treats clothes very roughly. Moreover, it is a very dishonest business.

Quality of their services: On Dec 29th, I brought in my almost new Gucci wool dress for a dry cleaning.  I bought this dress not that long ago and it was only worn couple of times in the Fall. It looked brand new when I brought in. After they cleaned it, one button is completely broken and several other buttons have scratches on it. (See the attached picture, since the button is white the picture cannot show scratches, but the broken one is very clear). Moreover, there are some threads broken too (the threads are too thin and hard to see in the pictures).  I have no idea how rough the dress was handled, considering the price of this dress, I am heart broken.

Why I believe they are dishonest:
1.On Jan 5th, I went to pick up my dress. Cashier A handed me the dress without informing me that they damaged the dress. In fact, they hung the dress in a way that I cannot  see the broken button unless I take the dress out from the package.

2. Cashier A told me that she had been only working there for about a month and didn't  know how to handle the situation. She said she will tell the manager and the manager will give me a call on Jan 6th.

3. On Jan 6th, since the manager didn't call me I called them. Cashier A picked up the phone and told me the manager was not there that day and the manager would be there on Jan 9th.

4. On Jan 9th I called them again. This time cashier B picked up my phone. Cashier B was aware of my problem. I asked cashier B if the manager was there, he told me the manager was sick but he would call the manager then call me back. 2 minutes later, cashier B called me back and told me that they would refund me.

5. I went to pick up the broken dress. Cashier B told me that their machine couldn't process the refund so he can only give me store credits (I believe that at this point we both know I will never ever go back again ).

Manager or not, I am pretty sure cashier B is the one in charge at this location and also the ''manager" cashier A was referring to. I don't believe their machine cannot process a credit card refund. They are just the type of business people that after damaging a 2000+ dress yet refuse to give a refund and a sincere apology.

Updates: A manager called me today:
1. They did not offer to fix the refund, and this is the one thing I expect them to fix.
2. They did ask me if I would be okay to give them the dress, and they will see if they can replace the buttons. I said that the buttons are Gucci buttons (including branding) and that I don't think they have buttons for this brand. She didn't correct my assertion, and I took that as her agreeing with me. (Actually I already had a similar conversation with cashier B, and that's why cashier B said I would get a refund).
3. They did apologize, but considering that they didn't offer to fix my refund,  I don't find their apology sincere.

Not sure what this kind of phone call can accomplish.

A great job! I brought in an older woolen cape that had been gifted to me. Stephen talked with me about the risk of cleaning an older garment, we talked about just steaming it, but it was explained that steaming could bring out any stains that were there but not visible. I made the decision to go ahead and clean it. I am so glad that I did- the color is much more vibrant, it looks brand new. I appreciated Stephen's honesty with what could happen and the care that was taken with my cape.
