In the almost 40 years I have lived in southern Il I have never been disappointed by Horstman’s. Excellent cleaner, especially for the odd and special items that need special care. They have survived this long for a reason. Highly recommend.

Horstman’s is the best place in town, and I’m not saying that just because they are the only dry cleaners in town. I moved to Carbondale not realizing how small of a city it was. I found a dry cleaner on the corner one day and dropped off some suits I got from a thrift store. Horstman’s had those $7 suits looking like they cost $100 each! I was impressed. I next took my king bed comforter to get cleaned. Again, like magic, they performed a great job in a few days. I am impressed with this small locally owned business, especially because it is the only dry cleaning service in Carbondale and it manages to maintain this level of quality service on a regular basis without extensive delays. I am happy to claim Horstman’s as my dry cleaner for all of my needs now and in the future. When you drop your items off, tell them Kindra Speech sent ya!

Dropped off a white dress shirt to get cleaned on a Tuesday. Told me it won't be done until Friday which is a while for just one shirt. I didn't get a ticket so they had trouble finding the shirt when I came back. And after all that, it wasn't even clean. Took it to a different cleaner by my hometown. They got it done the next day and it was spotless. Would not come back. Got 2 stars because of drive-thru and good price.

Horstman's does a superlative job of cleaning.  They are very knowledgeable and are certain to inform you if there are risks associated with cleaning your garments.  The prices are reasonable, and my items are always completed in a timely manner.  I would definitely recommend Horstman's Cleaners.

pretty great place to go compared to my apartment's (shitty) laundry machines. staff are nice & helpful when they talk to you / when you talk to them. mostly clean place. only 4 stars because sometimes the front loader washers (the only ones I've used) don't fully wet all the clothes / load every time

Came in at 5:30ish to 9pm today.with my 17 year old and 11 year old son. Had a lot of closes due to a flood out. The older lady that was working, that has a small dog with her was very disrespectful tords my son repeatedly. She wouldn't even let him buy the can sodas from the vinding machines . Had an attitude with my daughter for getting one for him.She was rule to him to the point he was cryed at one point when I was trying to inform her the walsher didn't work she tryed to argue with me about it and started yelling at my son becauses he was talking to my daughter so I kinda just dropped the subject due to fear of her kicking us out with 12 loads of wet closes. Some other lady showed her the machine was not working.same one i reported to her about.she offered her to pay for her load in another machine so then I asked her if she would do the same for me. She had an hateful attitude with me and my son most the time we was there until another customer showed up.  I didn't engage in her negative attitude tords my son but we will not be coming bk!!! ( Note- I only lefted 1 start because it doesn't give me the option to leave zero stars )

Multiple times the dryers don't work at all. Just stealing my money at this point. theyve had no warm/hot water for months. go somewhere else

Half of the dryers were not working. From the looks of the washing machines, this place has been a dump for a while. There was a lot of rust in and around the top loading washing machines. Some of the top loading and front loading washing machines were missing their lids. The detergent placer on top of the front loading washing machines was so crusted with a lot of soap and fabric softener residue, it looked like a thick grayish gunk. As soon as you stepped into the place, it reaked of mildew. I usually don't write negative about a place but this is the exception as their pictures don't do them justice. Not to mention that the white lady attendant got into a stare down with my husband after she heard him speaking Spanish with me. She dropped a comment about that and I turned around and asked her about it and she automatically shut down and said it has nothing to do with us! That is why we could only finish out one load before we searched for another laundromat near us.
