It pains me to write a negative review about a small town local business.  But if I could give this business 0 stars, I would.  I took a blazer in to have the sleeves shortened.  It took them a week.  When I picked it up, I immediately saw the shortcut work they did.  The tailor had simply folded over the extra length and sewed it under (see first picture). That, of course, is not the way it’s done.  The proper way would have been to cut the sleeve appropriately and rehemmed it.  The way they did it left a bulky sleeve and, worst of all, left the bottom button at the very edge of the sleeve (see second picture). Anyone who has worn a suit jacket — or has even bothered to look at a video on YouTube — knows that is not how a jacket sleeve is shortened.  They needed to recut the sleeve and move the buttons as necessary.  But that wasn’t the worst of it.  When I pointed all of this out (politely), the male tailor became visibly agitated.  He insisted the work had been done right and that in decades of tailoring he had never had a single complaint (hard to believe). He proceeded to grab the sleeve from me and took a razor blade to start cutting off the lower buttons, as if that would have fixed the problem.  I took the sleeve back and sternly told him to settle down and not to grab anything out of my hands. In response, he grabbed a large pair of scissors and threatengly held them over his head toward me. I told him to put them down or I would call the police and press assault charges.  I then demanded my money back, which they reluctantly agreed to give me.  I have never had an encounter like this with any business. I could get past the shoddy work and simply never used them again.  The tailor’s conduct, however, was beyond the pale and compelled me to write this review.

UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO OWNER’S RESPONSE:  Your response is complete fiction.  Of course, you did not explain how the repair would be made.  The tailor, who I believe is your husband, can barely communicate, much less explain anything.  And if you would have told me how the so-called alteration would be made — including leaving the bottom button on a blazer at the bottom edge of the sleeve — I would never have agreed.  You do not (and cannot) dispute that the alterations were made as I described them and showed in the pictures.  Interestingly, you do not say that the repair was done the right way.  Indeed, it is crazy to think anyone would “agree” to the shoddy work shown by the pictures I included in my review.  As for your tailor, he is lucky I did not call the police on him.  You should acknowledge he did a shoddy job and not lie on here.  Here’s a proposal, I’m sure you have a camera in your store.  Go ahead and post the entire interaction on here, including the tailor threatening me with the scissors, so we can see what really happened. It’s not too late for me to file a police report.  If you don’t post the video, it confirms that you’re lying.  Incidentally, you will notice I’m not the only customer who has posted about the rudeness and discourtesy from you and others at your store.  In fact, all reviews from the past year have been one star.  I initially felt bad about giving you a bad review despite the poor work and terrible attitude.  But, seeing you resort to lying, I would be happy to pursue this further if you’d like.

I’ve been here a couple of times in the past, and the woman at the front desk always comes across as cold and short with you. She’s not very friendly, which makes the experience uncomfortable. The services are also a bit pricey, and they require you to prepay. I’ve had no issues with the quality of work but I would rather spend my $ where welcoming and the experience feels worth it.

I believe the owner should take customer feedback as an opportunity to improve rather than responding defensively.

They do a great job! I dropped off clothes that were covered in candle wax, pit stains and lint stains and everything looked perfect after.

Be careful when dealing with them as they only accept up front payment and only offer to "redo" any mistakes they make. I have used this service before and have not had issues with my garments but do not feel comfortable using them for higher end garments due to this policy. I have given a lower rating due to this and previous interactions being less than inviting. The woman who works there can be quite rude and is never helpful when asking for any clarifying questions. They are also very overpriced.

The best of the best! Took a very difficult denim job to this lovely husband wife team, and they fixed the holes on the sleeves with expert care. Highly recommend!

Brought a pair of jeans back that were supposedly hemmed. They were not. She accused me of not knowing what I was talking about. Even if I was wrong on the length, which I was not, they were extremely rude. Said “You’re gonna have to pay for it again and she yelled at me I did it! “And then when I said well, thank you have a nice day. They didn’t respond at all so they just lost a dry cleaning customer. Do not recommend.

I so appreciate the great service we got from Laramee Cleaners last week when we flew into town from Chicago for my daughter's wedding.  I anticipated we might need to have some pressing done when we arrived, so I called another dry cleaners  in the area first a few weeks prior to the wedding to ask if they might be able to press a few things for us when we got into town, and their response was an adamant no.  I then called Laramee and spoke to Rose, who was so kind and understanding, and said yes, it should not be a problem.  When we arrived at our hotel and inspected our wedding attire and I noticed there were a lot of wrinkles in my dress and my husband's suits and shirts, I called Laramee again in a bit of a panic.  This time I spoke to Sonia, who was absolutely lovely, and with no hesitation, her answer was yes, that I could bring them in for pressing.  I was so relieved.  I needed a quick turnaround, and they were extremely accommodating and made it happen! I went back later the same day with a bunch of shirts and a coat and a couple of suits that belonged to my son-in-law, and Laramee not only cleaned and pressed them, but they had them ready for us by the following day!  They did beautiful work on all the pieces!

Surprised you’re still open…but I guess judging by the reviews that won’t last long. gave a price of 120-150 per curtain (2curtains) on something they looked at cleaning. Then wouldn’t hand the curtains back without the receipt. On their updated paperwork they had 1100 dollars written to clean 2 curtains. Meanwhile they called me this am and said 600 total. Seems they are in the robbery business. I will absolutely never bring my business there and will let everyone I know about my experience. To include the nasty attitude of one of the owners.

TERRIBLE SERVICE!! DONT GO THERE!
I came all the way from Denmark for a wedding and delivered two $150 HUGO BOSS white shirts for cleaning/pressing and a brand new suit for pressing. Both shirts have been cleaned before in Denmark.
Well, I picked it up.. one shirt was fine, the suit was still wrinkled in the front and back and my last shirt had shrunk two sizes. I cant even get my armes through the sleeves.
I call them up and explain the situation. They first tell that they’re gonna pick it up the following day at the address I’m staying at. I hear nothing. I have to text and call again to get any answer. They now tell me to bring the shirt to them. I explain that I’m on my way to the wedding (without the shirt and a wrinkled suit), i have no car and Im flying from Boston to Copenhagen early next morning after the wedding.
So now i used lots of time and my friends gas going back and forth to Laramees, I used $42 on the dry cleaning service, lost a $150 dollar shirt and they ruined my outfit for the wedding. They demand I come back from Denmark and deliver the shirt to them before they’ll make a refund 💩they won’t make an exception even though I live 6000 kilometers away. Thanks for the terrible service. Zero stars

Brought a garment for alterations. Woman very inpatient, pinning rapidly, unpleasant attitude. Two full weeks to be ready. I returned next day to try it on again (“measure twice, cut once”). She was even more unpleasant. “Go to another store,” she shouted. I spoke to the man there, who insisted I pay in advance. I only had 23 of the $35 cost on me - said I’d pay the rest when I picked up the finished item. He glared at me, said “No,” took out the pins and pushed my clothes at me  Take it and go” “why?” I said. “Get the f— out,” he screamed. “Hey,” I said, “you seem to forget you’re a service business. No customers, no business.” “F you” the man bellowed. I left for good.
