Columbus Cleaners does a fabulous job with unique pieces. I’ve had a leather jacket cleaned there when there was a spill in the lining and have been taking coats there ever since. The price may be higher than at some places but you absolutely get what you pay for. There’s a knowledgeable, friendly staff, a quick turn around, and a beautiful garment on the other side. I will continue to bring my coats and other garments here!

Top tier service and top notch customer service. Last week I went to a friends dinner party at the Capital Grille. We were in a private room and everything was great until the hosts brought our drinks and accidentally spilled the whole tray on me. I had a brand new white sweater and it got hit with espresso martini's. I thought this brand new sweater was done but to my surprise Columbus Cleaners came to the rescue. Lapels Laundromat is hands down the best dry cleaning service around! The quality of their garment care is top-notch — everything comes back looking crisp, clean, and perfectly pressed.
The drop-off and pick-up counter makes it so easy, and there’s plenty of parking right out front which is a big plus.. Prices are great for the quality you get. The staff is top notch too!!  Definitely my go-to spot — highly recommend!!!!!

This new laundry is the new sheriff in town,heated/air-conditioned,super clean,all the equipment is brand new and every machine is efficient,30 mins on dryer will probably burn your clothes,bathrooms for customers ONLY and they open with your laundry card.

Continental Dry Cleaners

Absolutely awful experience. This business is completely unprofessional, dishonest, and impossible to work with. I brought in a $250 dress that they damaged, and instead of taking responsibility, they sent it to Nordstrom without my permission pretending to be me in order to get a refund. That’s not just shady, it’s unethical and potentially illegal.

They offered me $50 and a refund for the cleaning, as if that would cover the damage or excuse them for impersonating me and sending my property somewhere without asking. They take no accountability and try to gaslight their way out of every situation.

They hide behind being a “small business,” but that doesn’t excuse this kind of behavior. Being a small business means you should operate with more integrity, not less. Save yourself the headache and go literally anywhere else.

Needed a suit dry cleaned in a hurry, and googled "dry cleaner near me, same day".
Came across Continental Cleaners, and sooo happy I did!
Although I didn't need it same day, I couldn't afford to wait 3+ days.
Went in ,dropped off suit to very pleasant man, and was informed that suit wouldn't be ready until next day.(This time frame worked for me).
Got a phone call almost immediately, explaining the shirt had bad stain, but he would try.
Next day, I picked it up, he saved my shirt,  and remembered my name the minute I walked in!
In this day and age, it's often overlooked what personalized service is.

I got my wedding dress preserved here, and a leather jacket cleaned as well. $65 for that jacket to come out looking brand new!

They also offer alterations and clothing fixes with a quick turnaround (little less than a week), which is very convenient.

I haven't had anything hemmed in years. I have to say I'm very pleased they did a great job. A jumpsuit I need for a wedding and a pair of polazo pants👍

I didn't realize they were closed on Sunday, so I took my sons pants and shirt first thing Monday morning, they were pressed and pants had a new button by 2pm, as promised. Star Laundry Club is the best, hands down. Colby is so friendly and always incredibly fast with returning any items dry cleaned to me. Sometimes I think I’m dropping off items last minute and won’t be able to get them back when I need them, but he always says “no problem!” with a smile and gets it done, easing away my anxiety.

This is my go-to spot for dry cleaning, professional steaming, and alterations. Mai is kind and does a great job. I've brought a winter coat, bridesmaid dress, and wedding dress to her and all have turned out perfectly.

I've had two wonderful tailoring experiences here! She's super friendly and willing to chat about how to best approach the alterations you're looking for. Reasonable prices for relatively quick, quality work.

This is THE BEST place for wash/dry/fold, dry cleaning, and alterations in the North End. I took my laundry to them consistently for 6 years and always had a positive experience. Truly, my clothes were sparkling clean every time. They also helped me out of several last-minute dry cleaning and alteration situations. What a wonderful little gem in North End! I live in Charlestown where every dry-cleaning experience has been a disappointment. I was so lucky to find this place because it's totally worth the extra distance! Mai is wonderful and treats her customers like gold. She has hundreds of clients  and yet she greeted me by name on my second visit - amazing! She cleaned one of my items twice for no extra charge to make sure the stain came out. Another time, she turned an item for me in less than 24 hour notice. Prices are more than reasonable for both cleaning and alterations - highly recommend!

I brought a fur coat here for lining cleaning and minor hole repair. The repair was done with a visible patch, and the surrounding damage remains noticeable. The lining stains also remained unchanged after cleaning.

I understand that results may vary, but the final outcome showed minimal improvement relative to the service requested and the $65 charge. I wish there had been clearer communication beforehand regarding what could realistically be achieved.

I paid in full to retrieve my coat, but overall, the service did not meet my expectations. The owner is quite rude.

Great place! Julie offers fair prices and very fast alterations. She can even hem the sleeves of sweaters! Has a cool, new mural now too!

Used this place for the first time today and I'm extremely pleased. Brought 2 garbage bags full of clothes needing to be washed (socks, cloth napkins, jeans, tshirts, shorts, underwear, sweatpants, button down shirts that didn't need dry cleaning). The owner let me choose which detergent I wanted (I chose Arm & Hammer Unscented, although there were other perfumed brands), and weighed both bags. Everything total came to $42.

I only had clothing that could be dumped in a machine on basic temperatures and regular drying cycles, so your mileage may vary if you include blankets, delicates, dry cleaned things, or anything that's out of the ordinary. I brought everything at 10am, and it was ready at 2pm. All of the shirts were on hangers and buttoned, and everything else was folded carefully in stacks in clear plastic bags. Opened the bag at home and everything was washed/dried well, and nothing smelled like smoke or perfume (some cleaners will mix other people's clothes together and I've had bad experiences where my items were clearly mixed with smoker's clothes. This was not the case at this location.)

I'm very pleased and I will definitely bring laundry here again, and some basic things to be tailored like shorts and skirts. The owner is very nice but can be rushing around, so if you have items that need ultra special directions, I'd come in right when the shop opens, or make sure she writes down notes.

The shop is very clean, smells pleasant, and the washers/dryers/pressers are modern and up to date. A great place if you have a lot of bags of clothes needing a quick turnaround, or if you need blankets/comforters/sleeping bags cleaned.

Note: They take cash and credit/debit cards, but cards are only for $10 or more.

Amazing service! I had my dress tailored and it was a difficult fabric to work with but I got it back within a few days and it was beautifully done. Very fairly priced and the dress was steamed for me on pick up too, what a nice surprise! Will definitely be going back here for any alterations

Dependable cleaners is always convenient, professional and friendly.  In particular they are able to turn small and large orders quickly and efficiently. They take great care in the cleaning process and always communicate any issues and they have a dedicated team for fashion items that need particular care. Staff is always friendly and greet us warmly.

I recently visited the Dependable Cleaners on Newbury Street and, unfortunately, had an experience that left me deeply disappointed. As a new and expecting mother, I brought in a pair of pajamas that hold significant sentimental value they were a gift from my husband and I hoped to have the waistband and sides let out to accommodate for my growing body. Prior to making the trip from Needham, I called to confirm the tailor’s schedule.

Upon arriving, however, I was met with an unexpectedly dismissive attitude. One of the associates I spoke with made several unnecessary remarks, including suggesting that my pajamas were “not of value” and implying they were not worth altering. This judgment felt both unwarranted and insensitive, especially given the personal significance of the item and my clear effort to inquire respectfully and specifically about the service.

To add to the frustration, I ultimately learned that the alteration could not be completed after all directly contradicting the information I was given over the phone. The entire visit felt like a discouraging misuse of my time and energy at a moment when both are especially precious.

Given the lack of professionalism and the dismissive tone I encountered, I cannot recommend this location.

I brought a brand new children’s jacket with tire marks to the dry cleaner and paid $20 for the service. The most visible marks were removed, but a new white spot, resembling a bleach stain, appeared on the jacket — and it was definitely not there before. The staff offered to clean it again, but even after the second attempt the mark remained. It was obvious that it hadn’t been removed but simply covered up.
I took the jacket back, as I saw no point in coming every two days only to be told that nothing could be done. The staff member who handed me the jacket the second time also confirmed that this white stain had not been there originally, as she was the one who accepted the jacket in the first place and clearly remembered how it looked. I was also promised a call from the manager, but it has been almost a week and no one has contacted me.
I am very disappointed with the quality of service: the jacket was not properly cleaned and ended up with additional damage. Minor tire marks I could have accepted, but the white bleach-like stain caused by improper handling completely ruined the jacket. I believe the dry cleaner should take responsibility for the damage.

Wonderful place. Even came back double wrapped with a special carrying tote. Very professional and super smelling good.

Name should be More Than Dependable Cleaners. Always excellent. The onsite tailor also does quality, meticulous work.
