After being away on holiday, the amount of laundry we had was quite frankly, overwhelming. From the ease of the ordering process, the pickup and return Clarendon Laundry made what could have been a stressful situation much easier. While the price was a bit more than we had anticipated, after having our laundry returned to us folded, sorted and neatly packed we are more than happy with the out come. We will definitely be using this service again in the future.

Edit to previous review...Unfortunately our second time using Clarendon Laundry left much to be desired. We had our dry cleaning picked up, the delivery day came and went with no communication from the laundry service.  When I reached out to find out where our delivery was I was informed that they had me down for in store pickup, even though their own app stated "waiting for deliver". When we finally recieved our dry cleaning (5 days late) our nylon clothing bags had been replaced with clear plastic film bags. When I called to ask what had happened I was informed they had lost our good quality clothing bags but could replace them with their own. One of their drivers dropped off 1 very cheap clothing bag, the type you buy in bulk off Amazon for £1 a piece. To say i was extremely let down by the decline in their customer service would be a drastic understatement.

I used their laundry services (wash, dry and fold) for a few months when I was there, and they had been a great support for my entire stay. Timely collections and drop with proper laundry services, even went beyond their way a couple of times to entertain some difficult requests from my side. I highly recommend using their services.

Worst, worst launderette we have ever had the dire misfortune of dealing with. I use launderettes a lot because I'm disabled and doing one's own laundry can be really overwhelming in that situation. We purchased a sizeable service wash with Mainwise, Mansfield Rd and all our stuff came back shrunk, bleached out, and / or looking about 10-12 years older than it was before we submitted the laundry. With the elastic worn out. I don't know what they're doing to the stuff but presumably using tonnes of detergent and leaving the stuff in the dryers forever or they did so with our items. I have no idea. Anyway I called to complain and dropped by a sample of the laundry to demonstrate my point, at their request (at obvious personal cost and inconvenience). The managers said they saw nothing wrong with the clearly bleached and shrunken laundry and said they would not issue me a refund; a discount; nothing. When I threatened to leave a bad review they basically just said, that's your choice. Why put us through all that hassle just to blow us off. Apalling business. Avoid like the plague. They clearly have no idea how to protect clothes and simply label themselves a last resort for the desperate. So annoyed!

Whiterose Dryckeaners did an excellent job cleaning our daughter's delicate wedding dress and doing a minor repair.  As shown on the before and after photos I took, the dress looks brand new again.

You will not find a 520 Bowe machine anywhere near hear. It's a marvelous machine and the cleaning and service is a very good standard. Never a delay and will tackle any problem with a good will and intention to bring the garment back to life. Used for leather as well and had a new jacket returned fully restored, for a v fair price.

The owner of this shop is a jolly chap. Nothing is impossible for him. Excellent customer service. The price charged is very reasonable and product has been cleaned professionally with a smile. I would use him again. Well done and keep up the good work - see you soon!

Very disappointed at the service and result. Had 3 large bags of laundry done on a service wash. All of my clothes literally smell like frying and spices. I didn't realise that the door you knock on for service is an actual domestic premises until I went to collect my clothes, the front of house is very clean dont get me wrong but my clothes were kept in someones home over night and have come out of there smelling like it. More thought should go behind storing customers items. It also states that clothes are to be nicely folded on the priceless board but everything has just been slapped together into quarters with no care whatsoever,  I've had to refold a lot of them. The lady who works/lives the is polite enough but due to the overwhelming smell of my clothes I won't be using this place again.

Seems to be a little self serve launderette,  I only used the dryer because it was wet outside, and couldn't dry the cloths on the line.

It cost me £3 for 20 minutes drying on HI temp in the dryer for my towels and they came out just right and not too dry and brittle.

Could be 5 stars if it was a bigger place with more machines and maybe slightly cheaper, considering its self service.

Fantastic service is not always about making sure everyone has a good experience, it is about sorting out problems when they happen. Today I picked up the 4 items I had taken in for dry cleaning. (Please continue to read if you have got this far, otherwise this will sound negative). One of the items had been ruined - because the manufacturer (Pretty Little Things) had put dry clean only on the label. Only, the dry cleaning process destroyed the outfit as it was in fact polyester (which you cannot dry clean. The owner let me know what had happened - and what should happen next: it isn't their fault, but they would give me a document spelling out what caused the damage and that the garment was mislabelled. I would then have to go back to the manufacturer for a refund, this is their fault for mislabelling the garment. However, the owner let me know that because this is a real hassle, and as I've been a regular customer for a while, he had already ordered a replacement identical garmet. My fiance was so happy to have the problem sorted, so I would definitelyt recommend Mapperley Top Clean. Now, I'm off to Pretty Little Things to complain...

Very, very disappointing experience. Over-charged for rugs (charged £20 not £15). Quoted 3 week turnaround without repairs - turned into 6 weeks. Countless attempts to phone them - never answered the phone. Had to go over to find out what the score was and was basically told off for doing that! Given all manner of "reasons" for the delay - short staffed etc but no apology for the delay or lack of communication. Lesson learned. Won't use again.

Brilliant. Polite and friendly service. Had two pairs of gents trousers with one pair that didn't have a crease line. Wasn't a problem. Paid £17.99 and was completed within a few days. Parking was easy. Just outside was parking. Free for the first 30 minutes. Bus station just around the corner.

This review is for the Alvaston branch of Bright Dry Cleaners. I took my long winter coat, which cost nearly £100, to be dry cleaned. A few days later, I picked it up and, upon trying it on at home, realised it had shrunk by about 2 inches all over, with the lining hanging down awkwardly.

I returned to the shop to complain. The manager, Nav, assured me he’d get the lining altered to fit and would refund the cleaning cost of around £25. He promised to call me when it was done. However, a week passed without any updates, so I called him. He apologized, claiming he was ill and hadn’t been able to call me back, but said he would check on the coat and follow up. Days later, still no call.

I decided to visit the shop again and found a woman steaming my coat. After waiting about 15 minutes, I tried it on, only to see no improvement. The arms were still an issue, the lining still hung unevenly, and the overall length was a mess.  It was clear that whoever had worked on the coat had no proper expertise, leaving it puckered and poorly altered.

Nav wasn’t there, so I called him from the shop. He claimed his car had just broken down and couldn’t talk at length, but assured me he’d resolve the issue soon. I left the coat there once again. After more than a week without hearing anything, I returned to find my coat hanging on a rail. It was obvious nothing had been done. Trying it on confirmed this.

Frustrated, I complained again, and the assistant in the shop called Nav, handing me the phone. Nav said there was nothing more he could do. When I brought up compensation, he claimed to have spent £53 on altering the lining and suggested that, had I mentioned compensation earlier, he wouldn’t have bothered with the alterations. Regarding the promised cleaning refund, he claimed he didn’t have enough money in the till—this was during a busy afternoon. He took my bank details, promising to transfer the refund, but weeks later, I’ve received nothing. Repeated calls went unanswered.

The entire experience has been disgraceful. My coat is now completely ruined due to their incompetence, and their failure to provide proper service or resolution is appalling. If you have anything of value, avoid this dry cleaner at all costs—they’ll destroy it! I absolutely do not recommend them!

The stain on my suit was less than 24 hours when I brought it the shop to be laundered next week. On their website, it says a 2 piece suit is £13. I was charged £15. I thought the website just needed updating but the tag on my suit when I collected it today says its £13. So Im not sure what the £2 extra charge is for. The pricing is obviously inconsistent.

When I collected the suit this afternoon, the staff had trouble finding it as they lost the receipt ( which im assuming wast meant to be pinned to my garment).

They also did not give me back the hangers (both for the jacket and trouser) that i brought it in with instead was replaced with a flimsy make shift hanger. The guys said that its not their fault as they dont do on site and that it should be okay as "they are just hangers" and that the hangers are just very cheap. Hangers specifically for suits are important as they retain the shape and look of the garment especially during storage. In Amazon alone, hangers specifically for suit cost around £7 (thats just for the jacket) and in my opinion, thats not cheap just for hangers. They said they will look into it and contact me if they find it. Really though, if they do find it, it such an inconvenience for me to pick it up with and I doubt they know what the hangers look like in the first place. They also looked very dismissive when I asked about the hangers.

The jacket wasn't cleaned properly too as I can still see some silhouettes of the stain. The trousers were fine.

What a place, perfect destination to get my clothes cleaned and dried. The service is absolutely ten out of ten, from a very well mannered and supportive team to excellent well cleaned facilities. I must say the speed at which my clothes were ready for collection it had me amazed. Would definitely reccomend if you wish for your clothes cleaned quick and efficiently

I recently visited Littleover  launderette I have to say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how clean, well-organised, and welcoming the place felt. Not recommended. I paid £25 for cleaning two coats, and the result was disappointing. I could have just washed them at home… The coats were not properly cleaned, and the fabric wasn’t even de-pilled. A waste of money.

Took my dress in for repair and clean came to £18.50 when I got it back home open the plastic my dress smelt so bad like damp my partner took 4x suits and they had loads of creases still in them  normally the service is good but do t know what happened this time round

Service had a quick turnaround time. Suit and shirt combo came back clean with only two tiny blemishes that came out subsequently with damp brushing. Some staff members were helpful and receptive to questions, others were not. Value for money was very reasonable, quite satisfied on the whole, thanks. 👍

Had an emergency wedding  to attend,  so needed a suit dry cleaned and pressed at short notice. Seems the normal turnaround time is 24 hours, and the price was excellent,  at ￡7.50. Cannot complain at all, very happy and would use again  and recommend to others.

Repaired a pair of ripped jeans, flawlessly, for £12. Clear communication and great service. They called when it was back in, it gets sent out to be repaired, so saved me having to worry.

They were polite on the phone and the next day, my husband took the dress in and the gentleman he spoke to was really friendly and super helpful. We explained we needed the dress to be ready in 2 days and it was no problem! I wasn't sure if the dress would clean up particularly well but they did a WONDERFUL job! I took my badly stained wedding jacket to be dry cleaned which had accidentally had gravy spilt down the back of it. The helpful staff advised that they might not be able to remove all staining but they would do their best. Imagine my surprise and delight to find that all stains had been removed and the jacket looks like new. Well done Sue and all staff for working your magic.

Used this dry cleaner for a Menswear Louis Vuitton Bomber Jacket. The customer assistant provided me with in a depth description of potential risks associated with dry cleaning a high value item whilst ensuring the item of clothing received necessary treatment to remove grease stains. I asked multiple questions and even rang after dropping the garment off to ask further questions, the Customer Assistant was more than happy to help and was very patient and understanding with my queries. The turnaround was super fast and I was able to collect within 24-48 hours. The stains lifted from my garment and the quality of the garment was still maintained. Will definitely be using again. Very thankful for the service I received :)

Really good service. I went to dry clean my lehenga but didn't know any dry cleaning places. I searched online, and this place came up. I wanted the lehenga dry cleaned within 48hrs and the staff were really nice. They spoke to their boss and made it possible to have my lehenga within 48hrs. They did a really good job, lehenga was nicely cleaned. Also, because I didn't know there was a dry cleaning place and it was my first time using a dry cleaning place so they charged me less which I was happy with. Would definitely recommend it.

What a great place! By far the cleanest and best looked after launderette in the Birmingham area. I’ve been a regular for many years now. Prices are competitive and the service you get here is second to none, the girls running it are so friendly and helpful and generally just pros at what they do.

This is by far the worst washateria I’ve ever used, and I won’t be returning. The washing machines are ridiculously high, making it impossible to use them comfortably unless you’re tall. I had to tiptoe just to put washing powder into the slot, and despite being as careful as possible, a small bit of powder ended up on top of the machine. This was unavoidable due to the poor design.

Instead of offering any understanding, the rude, grumpy old man working there decided to follow me all the way to my car to complain about it. He claimed there was a stool I could’ve used, but the floor was wet, and if I had slipped and injured myself, he admitted he would’ve been liable. Yet, rather than addressing these issues or offering help, he was sarcastic, unprofessional, and condescending, going as far as making immature comments like “bla bla bla.” His behaviour was not only rude but also felt intimidating and completely unacceptable.

On top of the harassment, the prices here are outrageous—£9.00 for an XL washing machine that only runs for 25 minutes. Other places offer longer cycles for the same price or less. We pay for a service, but we don’t get the service we expect—they clearly don’t care about their customers.

Avoid this place at all costs. It’s a waste of money and you’ll only leave feeling frustrated and disrespected.

To explain I rarely leave reviews but having read what I would assume is a very grumpy and miserable person with a grudge.
I felt compelled to respond as my experience here is very different.
I'm an old chap and have been coming here for many years when a gentleman used to run it but of recent years by a young girl ( to me!! ) and have found them to always be helpful and friendly. And there have been many occasions I needed that at my age.
The laundry shop is always clean and tidy as are the machines I find the prices good compared to others and will continue to use it until I can no longer carry the bags here.

Whilst I respect other people's opinions  I do feel this particular person is just being nasty and vindictive for her own purpose.

Sorry for rambling on but nastiness is just such a negative feeling.

Very bad experience the first time, my dress wasn't clean. The second time they washed one of my faux fur coats worth over 400 pounds and it became frizzy and dry to the touch. Do not tumble dry!!! but they used and now it looks like it's 30 pounds. I'm so angry I'm never going back！

£10 for a suit jacket and suit trousers in ~3 working days. I even got a text reminder when it was done!

Would go back there for my next set of dry cleaning and would recommend.

Honest and professional

Needed my tux dry cleaned for an event and was warned that I'd have to collect it today as the shop would be closed from Thursday onwards.
I totally spaced but luckily the owner called me and kept the store open past close so I could collect my tux!
Not only that but he refused to take any tip and even told me that he'd discovered £20 in my suit and handed me my change?!

I took my coat to the dry cleaners.
They said it would be ready in a week.
When I picked up the coat at home, I saw that it was in the same condition as it was.
I paid £20 and waited a week. In the end, I paid and they did absolutely nothing with it.
This is the first time I've experienced this in England.
They probably thought I wouldn't notice the difference.
I am very upset by this attitude.

IMPRESSED beyond belief. SANDRA is an ABSOLUTE STAR. I handed in 4 pairs of trousers this afternoon and did myself a quick check of the pockets. Minutes later I had a call on my mobile from Sandra telling me she had found an amount of cash in one pair of trousers. I came back to the shop and was handed £40 cash more than the cost of the dry cleaning. This proves Sandra is quite exceptional 100% honest, genuine and a credit to herself her family and employer. Thank you again Sandra, I wish there were more people like you in the world, you have shone bright today which is why you are a genuine star.

I've taken my suits here quite a few times and can't say I have any complaints...staff seemed ok, dry cleaning seemed ok. Glad they have extended their opening times recently as it was difficult to get here after work.
Lost a star because: i'm not keen on having multiple plastic tags punched through the lining of my expensive suits just to attach dry cleaning tags. It leaves holes. Surely it can be done in a way that doesn't damage the suit liner?

It is absolutely the worst cleaner I ever used. My shirt is absolutely damaged after the wash. They said they followed the care label but clearly they did something wrong. My brand new Lavin shirt was heavily shrunk and broken after the wash. They said they will put the shirt to their own investigation team where they can test the process of cleaning. But how could you possibly tell which temperature and method they used for cleaning with the UV light? It made utterly no sense to me. So i waited for their call or text as they said they will contact me back after few working days (within a week). However, I had to call them asking for the results. They said the same thing again and again. They never said sorry or offered the compensation. Overall, they have terrible customer care and worst washing technique. Hence, I firmly suggest not to use this shop. Hope you guys do not make the same mistake.

The coat I brought in was from a second hand store. Neither the stains nor the smell was removed. There were some hairs on it when I brought it in and the coat had the same ones on it when I picked it up which leads me to believe they actually didn’t do anything with the coat and just gave it back.

After my hospital appointment I came to the launderette to dry my babies clothes. I asked him for change as I had notes and he was so rude and shouting at me. I found that odd. When I put my babies clothes in to dry, he turned the electricity off. It seems like more people have noticed how discriminatory and two Faced this man is. Im a sick mother of 2 babies and all I wanted was to dry my children's clothes. I made payment and he turned everything off. I had to carry the wet clothes back home. Very ugly hearted man. I cannot beleirv this.

I had a great experience. My WM broke suddenly so 4 big bags of washing to do, but it was great. Wash only takes 30 MINUTES, Dryers 5 minutes + I rang ahead to find "quiet times". Good range of washing machines & dryers. WM =3 sizes depending on load. Small (£3),medium (£3.50) or large (£5) for 2 "normal" loads in one (or duvets, blankets etc). Dryers are huge, choose hot, med or cool (50p for 5 minutes). Towels take 3-4 cycles to fully dry. Friendly, helpful staff in Dry Cleaners next door will give you advice and coins for the machines.Also sell washing powder & bags. Baskets provided. Has PARKING at front.  Would use again.

Well done, keep up the good work. I went to Hall Green dry cleaners and they wanted to charge me £20 on a Holister Coat that was 5 years old. The owner told me they charge higher for branded garments. I left then I came here, J&S Dry cleaners. They charged me £10 no quibble no brand, no nonsense. JUST ABSOLUTELY GREAT SERVICE.

Nice little laundrette, I have been coming here for the past year. It's cheaper then others, £2 gets you 30 mins drying time. Space for 3 cars to park outside, I sit outside and read books while my clothes dry, at home they'd take ages. Cheapest way is to dry 3/4 laundry loads for £2. The owner has gotten better, he is nicer now. He has change in his office, the shop opposite has a free cash machine and good for snacks while you wait.
