I’ve been coming here a while and have generally had good experiences. I was disappointed to see that they cut Saturday hours (I came by and they were closed) and today I dropped by on a weekday and they again are closed. Another customer also pulled up around the same time as well. I understand it’s nice to close the doors if you own the business but it’s becoming problematic at this point. Of course I hope that everyone is ok and in good health-just consider getting a warm body to accept drop offs and pickups instead of closing.

They were nice and successfully got out tough stains, but they shrunk all my cashmere sweaters to a size smaller so I can’t wear them anymore. They are also much scratchier now instead of soft. :( I read online that this happens when they improperly apply too much heat. This has never happened in all the times I’ve dry cleaned my sweaters. The sweaters also still smell. Really bummed.

Staff were extremely curt and abrasive. It is understandable if the business is busy and garments cannot be turned around in time, but to be met with rude denial for basic requests ensures that I will not come back nor recommend this business to anyone.

Customer service horrible walked in with 10 pairs of pants told me they couldn’t get it until done until January over three weeks away. One worker was cutting her nails in the middle of the store And the other lady just growned when she saw me walk in with my pants.  It was like oh gosh, we don’t want more business

Exceedingly rude customer service. This was my first time dry cleaning something, as I normally have clothes I can clean myself. The place was too busy to accept my business, which is very understandable, however I decided to try this place as I need a suit cleaned urgently and the lady at the counter was more rude than I remember basically anyone in a service industry being, and I say that as someone who has only ever worked in the service, food, and hospitality industries. I understand if someone is having a busy or bad day, and I empathize, but that is no excuse to behave so rudely to a person who is in an unfamiliar situation or is a first-timer in your place of business. I will not return and I will encourage others not to, unless I can get some form of help understanding if that type of customer-facing behavior is normal for dry cleaning.

Blue Ridge Dry Cleaners

They have no quality control measures in place. I wear corporate attire and they've ironed my pants so to show more than one crease in the pants. The double over the original creases and have the gaul to blame the machinery. It's clearly the inattentive staff operating the machinery. Gave them 3 times to correct and they came back worse than the first time. Had to take it to the professional in the next plaza to fix their screw up. The area does not have many dry cleaners left. We hope the quality providers have the band width to take on more clientele. So sad.

Consistently screw up clothes.  Do NOT go here.  Poor customer service,  are not open regularly, but they regularly iron "railroad tracks" i.e. two creases in pants so it looks like garbage.  Last pairs of pants I brought in had white stains on them (see image)  so I brought in for a redo and they werent ready when promised.

They did exactly what they promised to do and did it very well! The gentleman who was manning the post could not have been nicer. The uniform came out looking almost like new! Thank you folks for a job well done and at a better than reasonable price!

Boonsboro Cleaners

Poor work but what made it worse was the customer service. I brought in a brand new suit on Thursday to be pressed for my son's wedding. I went to pick it up on Saturday morning as scheduled. When I looked at the suit I noticed the jacket had a crease pressed into the lapel, and as you will see in the pictures there were other areas that look like they had just been missed in the pressing.  I spoke with Julie, who with her husband Andy, are the owners. My family was scheduled to go out of town on Monday. Julie recognized that the jacket needed to be repressed and said that her husband Andy must not have inspected it when it was pressed. Julie said that they could get it re-pressed and either delivered to me by noon on Monday or I could pick it up from the store Monday morning by noon. She said that they would make it right. I felt like Julie was trying to do the right thing and mistakes happen. About an hour later, I got a call from Andy, her husband, who said that there was nothing wrong with the jacket, that he had pressed it himself, and that Julie, and two other customers said there was nothing wrong with the jacket. (Why other customers would be sharing their opinions is not clear to me. I think the pictures speak for themselves.)  Andy also said the he couldn't get it repressed by Monday morning. He told me I either needed to pick up the jacket by noon on Saturday or that they would be open at eight on Monday and I could pick it up then. He said that they would refund my money, but that they would not fix the problem. I told him that I was not happy but that he wasn't giving me any choice. I drove back to the store on Saturday to get the jacket, which ruined by planned Saturday morning breakfast with my son and family. On the way, I call Julie, told her I was coming back for the jacket , she said she had refunded the payment. I expressed to her what really hurt was that her husband who had never seen the jacket (at least that day) said there was no problem when she and I had seen the jacket and she had acknowledged that there was a problem.   When I got back to the store I told Julie that my breakfast with my son had been ruined.  Her whole attitude had changed. She said she didn't want to hear it, what I had said was inappropriate, and to get out of the store.

Service was fast and friendly and my clothes cleaned and pressed well. Only thing I was a fan of was the price but I do understand you get what you pay for. It was $26 to clean 1 suit. It’s convenient to my location is why I use it.

Really good people run this place. They don't have machines on site so don't show up the day before a wedding and expect them to have your things cleaned in an hour but their customer service more then makes up for it

I don't intend the return after being asked for money by professional beggars and crooks camping outside and even getting in. They dropped a crutch on the parking lot near my car with the hope I would crush it. Annoying

The filthiest laundry mat I have ever seen so much dirt and trash on the floor plus getting asked for money while Im trying to wash clothes  if it wasnt for having to order a Uber to get here and back home I would had went somewhere else

I just took my dog’s items to get washed here and upon returning after leaving the items in the dryer multiple higher end items were missing. My dog had a tactical vest and also leash both missing priced over $75. This location needs security to be on site to discourage stealing and also cameras keeping track of who is putting what items in what. This is very upsetting!

Easy to wash clothes in bulk. They were helpful when a machine didn't work and sent a check for 50cents in a couple days when a machine didn't work. Overall good experience

I use to visit this laundromat sometimes, not at all anymore. However, my past experiences were pretty okay. Machines are functional, and usually not super packed during the early hours of the morning. It seems to fill up more in the afternoon. A few of the washers and dryers support Google Pay which is super cool. I am sure Apple pay would work as well.

I dont like laundry mats, but we are traveling and I needed to do laundry. This place was clean and well kept. It even had machines that would take cards. The machines were quick...quicker than my home ones.  And the dryers were super quick and inexpensive to use.

I have never had a problem with this place until last night whoever was working on 1/27/22 was extremely rude about how they approached telling me when the last wash was, being that I didn't know I came in at around 8:30p.m. and the employee gave me a very hateful look before telling me in a rude manner when the last wash was. Saying something along the lines of "you don't plan on washing those clothes do you" or something to that effect, can't say I expected anything less though she's always in there slaming trash cans around when emptying them....Needless to say I'd love to come back and wash my clothes this won't deter me from visiting once again.

While the weathers did an amazing job, the dryers were terrible. They only dried 4 minutes at a time and it took forever. I brought a lot of wet clothes home with me.

By far the cleanest laundry mat I've been to. The owner is on site and is very helpful. The machines we used worked well, the pricing is competitive and best thing ever -- this place is sparkling clean. Love it! Would definitely recommend.

So, so grateful they were open today (July 4th). I had an express laundry order to do and I was frantic trying to find a place that was open. The facility is clean and well-kept, and the PayRange option is so convenient. Bonus points for excellent A/C, too.

I was told about this laundromat a few months ago. I live in Gretna and I drive all the way to Lynchburg to use this laundromat. Everyone has been very nice helpful and it's so clean. The washers dry the clothes so well to where I do not have to spend a lot of Money on drying. I like the fact that they have comfortable seating for you to have your breakfast or lunch and get some work done. Very nice environment. I wish they had one in Gretna..

I was very disappointed this go around…
Back in 2020, the seamstress altered a wedding dress for me - reasonably priced with a quick turn around. She’s done alterations for my mom and my brother - things were great! I was very happy with my experience so when I needed another item altered, this place was my first choice..
In September 2024 I attempted to drop off my item and I was told they were not accepting alterations at that time & to come back in a few weeks. And I did. October 2nd I dropped off a sweatshirt to be sized down. A week before Christmas I decided to go to the facility to ask about my item because it had been over 2 months. When I got there and was speaking to the front desk lady, I hear the seamstress yell from the back “I got it on my table now, I’ll be done in a couple days!” — (obviously that was a lie) fast forward through the holidays to beginning of January 2025. I went back to ask about my item on a Thursday, the seamstress was not there and the front desk lady told me she didn’t know what was taking her so long to finish my item, but would talk to the lady on Monday when she got back - front desk lady took down my name and number - the following week I went back, seamstress not there, front desk lady told me she didn’t know where it was. Then today 2/17 I went back and picked up my untouched sweater so I can drop it off somewhere that’ll actually get it altered. My sweater sat collecting dust from Oct 2nd til February 17th. Very disappointed with this experience.

This is the second pair of Rock Revival jeans I've had the ladies at Amherst Dry cleaners hem up for me, I absolutely love their work. Also for the price you cannot beat it. I'll will be a returning customer in the near future. The ladies there are always so nice, and polite with me, make me feel as they truly appreciate my business I bring them. All I can say is (5)-Stars all the way around for Amherst Dry Cleaners. I personally highly recommend them....

Let me start off by saying I don’t generally leave a review on a business ever. I always like to give the benefit of the doubt and second chances. I surely gave this company many second chances.

At first I was very optimistic about using Amherst Dry Cleaners (Madison Heights)… the initial conversations I had with staff were pleasant.

However I waited 2 and a half months for a service that I didn’t receive. I paid $200 for my bridal gown to be cleaned and preserved. After month and a half, I called and was told there was a wait due to the supply chain and the issue of obtaining the preservation boxes. I was in no rush so this was not an issue for me. After calling a second time at the 2 and a half month mark, they were rude and their customer service was horrible … I was told to call the main cleaners in Amherst about the status of my gown. I informed them that I would appreciate that they reach out to the other location and let me know the status of my gown since I had entrusted it to the Madison heights location them months ago!! I received a call back from the owner at the cleaners in Amherst and she was very polite and professional and let me know my dress would be ready in 4-5 days. I finally received a call that my dress was ready for pick up. The Madison heights cleaners closes very early, especially for someone who works a full time job 9-5. When rushing to go pick up my gown, I was held up at the red light across from the location - a few minutes until closing. I called to ask if they would stay open one minute past closing since I was only a few feet away. I received very unprofessional and rude response but they obliged and stayed open until 5:31pm. Once I finally got my gown, I noticed the preservation box was just a card board box. When I initially called to inquire about the service, I was told my dress would be preserved in a box with a viewing window. I paid $200 and waited 2 AND A HALF MONTHS, for a service that wasn’t fulfilled. There was no manager on site when I picked up my gown and the lady I spoke with seemed unconcerned and dismissive. I am very disappointed in Amherst Dry Cleaners in Madison Heights and I unfortunately will not be returning or recommending this service/location to anyone.

This laundromat is a complete mess I watched my clothes spin around dry through the wash cycle then the water came on during the final rinse cycle leaving me to have to find another machine to wash my clothes in and then cross my fingers that I was going to find a dryer that was going to completely dry my clothes. I came to this laundromat because Boonsboro roads dryers we're not getting hot enough to dry clothes only to end up having a problem with washer and dryer at this laundromat. My feelings are really hurt when it comes to this laundromat in the early nineties my uncle used to clean it at night and me and my brother helped this laundromat has really fell off

This laundromat is in terrible condition. The machines are either broken or malfunctioning, with no staff on-site to assist or even clean up. The floors are dirty, the trash is overflowing, and there’s a general sense of neglect throughout the space. It’s clear no one is maintaining it, and it’s impossible to get your laundry done efficiently here. I will never return. Unless you’re absolutely desperate, do yourself a favor and find another location. This place is a waste of time.

This laundromat is a complete disaster. The floors are filthy, and the whole place looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. Many of the machines are broken, and there is no attendant on-site or in sight to get help from. If you know of a better laundromat, I highly recommend going there instead, because this one should be shut down for good.

The large 8 load machine takes over two hours to wash. I spoke with the worker and she said its a known problem and that the timer clock is off. Absolutely ridiculous.

I was just harassed by the custodial supervisor while doing my laundry, apparently she's not happy with her job which appeared more like a daycare where as she was babysitting two young children. An employ should not be allowed to vent their personal frustrations on the paying customers of a business. I hope management remedies this problem while they still have customers.

What in the World Happened?

This place is called Clothes Spin. Now it feels more like Pig Pen. A year ago, it was one of the cleanest laundromats in the area—maintained, organized, and clearly managed with pride. Today, it feels neglected and unsanitary.

I walked in just after 7:00 AM. The place should’ve been spotless at opening, but instead the floors were coated in dirt, lint, broken trim, plastic scraps, and what looked like days-old trash. The smell was musty and stale. One of the baseboards had completely detached and was left sitting on the floor. It didn’t just look dirty it looked abandoned.

Several of the detergent inserts were visibly caked with buildup. Nothing had been wiped or rinsed. Machines that handle soap and water shouldn’t look like they’re harboring grime. If the parts you can see are that bad, it makes you wonder about the parts you can’t.

The bathroom was in horrendous condition. At 7:00 in the morning, it already smelled awful and looked untouched. That’s not a late-night issue. That’s failure to clean it at all.

To top it off, prices have increased. So customers are being asked to pay more to do laundry in a space that looks and feels like a health code violation. It’s now just as dirty as the laundromat down the street that most of us used to avoid.

I genuinely almost grabbed paper towels and started cleaning myself. That’s how far things have slipped.

This didn’t happen overnight. It’s a clear case of management not caring, and it shows. For a business that handles clothing and family laundry, cleanliness isn’t a luxury it’s the baseline. And this place is nowhere near it.

This laundromat is extremely clean and well maintained. The floors, machines, and folding areas were spotless, and everything smelled fresh. The washers and dryers were clearly taken care of, which made me feel comfortable washing my clothes here. It’s nice to find a laundromat that really prioritizes cleanliness. I will definitely be coming back.

I like this place. The payments are easy. I tend to sweep when I'm here, and I'm grateful there's a broom and dustpan. I wish the vending machines worked with the Dexter app. I love that it's open 24 hours when everything else here closes around 9pm. Be kind while you're there. Many locals frequent this place. I come here about once a month. Great service every time.

I've been using this laundromat for over two years and I love it! The people are great. Management is on top of things. The cleaning crew works hard to stay on top of the appearance which is sometimes a challenge, people not always being respectful of public spaces. I wouldnt go anywhere else!

Rustburg Laundry Land

The washing machines worked decent (the clothes came out smelling clean). Then the dryers made everything stink like dirty dryer. It was a huge bummer. The dryers also don't work well. We wont be coming back. I also heavily disagree with others saying that this place is clean, it's not the worst, but it is not clean.

Usually a great location but seems to be another location that doesn't open at posted hours.

This is one of the cleanest laundromats I've been to. Machines work wonderful and it's a pleasure to go to this laundromat and this is where I will go from now on, never back to the one in Brookneal

This is a great little laundry mat! Very reasonable and has a home-y kinda feel..there are books and magazines(for adults and children) clean bathroom..it looks a little dated but machines are taken care of, not expensive and there is almost always an attendant there. I WISH that they were open a bit later but I'll manage. No complaints!

I would give a 0 if possible.  Been going here for a couple years because it's close to where I live. Nothing in that place works right . Everytime I visit there there are always a handful of machines and dryers that don't work. There is never ever an attendant on duty and the only time I've ever seen one was when I was there on a Saturday at 8 in the morning to wash clothes and they were closed. They are supposed to be open at 7 a.m. I had to call their main number and then about 30 minutes later they sent a guy walking down the road with a set of keys to open the door. And that's all before I even start washing my clothes, which doesn't end well either. They always seem to smell like stink bugs when they're done drying and they never smell clean. The floor is always filthy and there's no sink for you to wash your hands in or clean up anything if you spill some detergent .  The drink machine only takes bills, it won't accept coins, so if you only have change, you're out of luck. That place needs a serious overhaul and an attendant on duty. I'm happy to say I've made my final trip there and have since chosen a new laundromat where my clothes actually smell clean after I spend 20 or $30. Good riddance, Rustburg Laundromat!!!!!

I live in Lynchburg, and when looking for a dry cleaner, the best around has only 3.7 stars. As I needed my only suit cleaned, I wasn't willing to risk ruining or losing it. That's when I found this spot 20 minutes outside town, and it was well worth it. Andy at the front desk was very respectful and got straight to the point. My clothes were ready the next day, and it was relatively inexpensive in my experience. One of the best dry cleaners I've been to, easily. Look forward to bringing my business back here!
