Got a multi-layer hem done here for a bridesmaids gown. The hem was done well but the price was $120, which in my opinion is too expensive for the service.

They charged me for cleaning that was not mine (Over $100). When I disputed it, they claimed they had no receipt, but I showed them where the money came out of my checking account. I have been going here for a few years. After working in dry cleaning for a few years I have always been pretty picky with my dry cleaners. Their prices are good and they are quick and do good work. My husband got his wedding suit altered here and they did a great job. Customer service is fine - not the friendliest but they are not rude.

I don't know about the other reviews but this place is great. I have been going here for a while now and their service is amazing and the prices are very reasonable! I have gotten stains out of my clothes and alterations done here with out any problems. Not to say my skin is very sensitive and this cleaners uses organic materials to clean the clothes. We have been coming here on a weekly basis for a couple of years. My husband gets all of his work shirts dry cleaned regularly, and has also had alterations done to tailor pants, jackets, etc. Most notably, however, I recently had my wedding dress altered by Soo, and I cannot recommend her enough! She spent months meticulously altering every detail of my dress to make sure it was absolutely perfect, and she did it all for a more than reasonable price! Just look at the pictures and you can see the craftsmanship in her work! If you are getting married or going to a wedding or formal, I absolutely recommend coming here for your alterations.

Would give zero stars if possible. They turned a vintage silk Oscar de la Renta shirt yellow and then tried to give me store credit. The material itself is no longer silk and now is coarse. Save yourself the trouble.

They do a good and careful job on my (mostly) shirts. This place is friendly, efficient, and fast. Prices are reasonable.  A few short-term parking spots are right out front, so I never have a problem parking.  I have never used it, but tailoring is also available.

I was told good things about this place and have been on the hunt for a good dry cleaner in the city for years now. Unfortunately, I have not had the same experience as many of the previous reviews. I have dropped off clothes to be serviced three times and each time the clothes come back with new stains that were not there before. I had a winter coat cleaned that looked the exact same as it did when I dropped it off. I can not speak for their tailoring services which I heard were good but the cleaning it self was subpar. They would be reasonably priced if the service was sufficient. The ladies there are also nice. I probably won't be back though. My hunt for good service continues.

Look my shirt here for a quick press the morning of my wedding, 10/26. It came back with large yellow stains on the front and back that I didn't notice until 30 minutes before I had to be ready. I chose this place because the reviews were good and I thought it wouldn't be a big risk but they screwed up the one thing they had to get right.

Today I went to pick up my designer handbag. The owner of company gave me my bag and said they didn’t fix it. Meanwhile, the zipper was fixed and I see an iron mark on the bag, which was never there. I asked him about the iron mark. He wouldn’t even look at the mark and said with a nasty tone “he didn’t do it” and denied that he did that. I showed him again the mark and he didn’t even look at it. The wife denied the mark as well. The owner started yelling at me and told me to “get out”. Here I am trying to just get my bag fixed and support this husband and wife team, after their flood and they have the nerve to deny and verbally abuse a loyal customer. I decided to use a laundry service after thinking about it for a while.  But I wanted to use a reliable and responsible business.  My research identified Bubble City as the highest rated in my area.  So I signed up and had a large heavy load picked up from my home.
Communication via email was excellent, pickup was efficient, and my items were returned one day early clean, undamaged and neat folded.   I'm having a second order of laundry picked up today!

Place is very good to do laundry but if your not washing you shouldn’t be inside the store my gf felt like she was being stalked by a random person who kept walking back and forth and followed her down to the dollar general in the same lot so I had to come and watch him inside the store and all he did was eat I didn’t see him check any dryers or washing machines he was carrying around a duffel bag going in and out the store the staff are nice and good at what they do besides that but it felt weird knowing my gf was unsafe in that area so lucky I was close

Dropped my laundry off on a Thursday it was about 106 lbs I was told turn around time was 24hrs but could possibly take up to 48hrs because of how many lbs. Called back on Saturday and was told my clothes where in the dryer and should be ready by noon on Sunday we are now in hour 74 and my calls where now being ignored showed up to the laundromat and my clothes were just placed in the dryer from the washer upon my arrival. Taking my clothes now and expecting a refund because all I was given was a wash.

Do not come to this place! I dropped off a suit for a funeral that I have to be at early tomorrow morning an hour away. They told me to be here at 5 PM to pick it up today. It’s now 5:45 PM and they close at six and no one is here. I’m gonna have to leave and have absolutely nothing to wear for this funeral, I’m beyond livid. STAW AWAY!

AVOID this place at all cost!!! They put a hole in my wife’s silk blouse! And then had the nerve to claim that the hole was already there! They took no responsibility for the destroyed article of clothing. It’s so disappointing. She loved that blouse and now it’s ruined! This place is garbage. Avoid avoid avoid.

Go somewhere else! I used this cleaner to professionally care for a goose down jacket and my north force coat. The goose down zipper was broken yet they zippered the jacket and didn’t notify me of the damage. Keep in mind that it was a new jacket that I purchased from Nordstorm and I don’t wear it much in Baltimore so I wanted it washed before storing it after moving from chicago. I paid way too much for a basic cleaning. The zipper was damaged as well as the down feels pressed and I found white powder in the crevices of the jacket.
I called to inform the owner of what happened and she hung up the phone on me. Then when I called back she tells me that she’s with a customer but won’t address my concern. She tells me to bring the jacket back but when I inform her that I took Thor jacket for a skiing trip and could she make a note of it so that we discuss when I am back in town she was even less responsive and then a language barrier went up as well as her inability to resolve my issue. This is unprofessional and lacks customer service. It’s not worth the risk of the damage caused to my jacket.

DO NOT GO HERE! EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND OVERPRICED. I was told my skirt would be ready on Saturday. I went to pick it up on Tuesday morning and had to wait for 45 min. Not only did she open the shop an hour late, my skirt was still not hemmed. I had to come back during my lunch break to pick it up and she gave me only a $5 discount on the overcharged alteration bill of $66.

Was referred here by my spouse. I took 2 pants to be taken in and an Italian linen blazer to be altered adding loops in the back for a corset effect.
The first time I picked up the jacket I did not inspect until I got home. I then noticed that the material used for the loops were an athletic elastic material almost like a material used for draw strings. I then returned for the loops to be changed to a different material, one that would match/ compliment/ coordinate w/ the jacket. The gentleman insisted that I pay an additional $50 to have the material changed. I 100% understand the extent of the work but we never verified what material would be used. Also, I would like to note that I was trusting the judgement of “professionals”. I personally would never think to use that elastic material on a linen material.
I respectfully declined the $50 charge and was able to get it down to a more reasonable amount, even though in my opinion, it should have been free of charge since the alterations were completed within the same week.
When I came to pick up the jacket the gentleman had a less inviting demeanor. I inspected the jacket and upon inspection noticed some bunching on the seams. At this point I knew I did not want them working on anything else of mine so I did not speak up and my travel plans were fast approaching. So I took my garment and went on my way.
When I got it home and tried it on it only got worse.  Loose threads left on the jacket, rip on the ase of loop, loops facing every which way but the right way.

I am beyond disappointed. Safe to say, I will do my own alterations from now on or find someone who is interested in paying attention to details.

The seamstress in this place is magnificent and honest.  She's gives you an estimate of the work before beginning to make sure you're on board with the price.  Things that can't be laundered in-house, can be sent out and brought back.  They did a great job with a suede coat that I couldn't get anyone else to clean.

Try to bring your own bags to avoid all the wasteful plastic.

Best of all, all my clothes apparently, actually fit now.  No need to walk out of my pants accidentally anymore 😆

Our cashmere sweater was ruined during dry cleaning. We are certain that there was no hole in the sweater before it was sent to the dry cleaner. After the dry cleaning, we found a hole with a circle of burnt marks around it. After reporting this to the dry cleaner's owner, he removed the burned parts and insisted that it was not his responsibility and claimed that the hole had been there originally. We won't come to this store again！

The owners are very friendly and the work was good. However, I tried to pick up my item 2 days after the promised date, but it was still not ready. They did have it ready by the end of the day.

We've gone to venus for the better part of a year now and given them everything from routine dry cleaning, to custom wedding dress and suit alterations. The couple who works there is good and they get alteration work done on schedule. We've trusted them with some of the most important garments we've ever worn and they do a great job performing all kinds of tailoring and alternation work.

I needed dress pants altered for a friend’s wedding, dropped off Tuesday morning and they were ready for the event on Friday. The owner was friendly and took my measurements quickly. The hem line looks clean and they pressed the pants. I’ll definitely be returning in the future!

DO NOT get alterations here. I needed a simple 3" hem and not only was it poorly done (jagged, messy sewing, the edging was done backwards so instead of the front being smooth with a seam, it has the folded edge showing) and it came back with a big pull, but it's still WAY too long and now I don't have any time to fix it before the wedding because their seamstress is out of town. They provided me with a refund but only after getting serious attitude from the owner. They should have paid for my ruined dress too but refused.

Grateful that the cleaners is conveniently close to home. The staff was nice. And the atmosphere is vibrant. Prices are reasonable as well.

S&R Laundry is the best. They’ve been a true lifesaver throughout the pandemic. It’s easy to set up a consistent schedule for pickup and they’re very adaptable when I’ve needed to make adjustments. I've been going for years, and up until last month I had had good experiences. This last time I brought in a dress and asked for the bodice to be altered along the waist seam. She refused and said she could not touch that part. I was very confused since there is a clear seam, but I thought to myself that I'm not the professional so what do I know. She ended up taking it in a bunch on the side seams, which was not what I had asked for at all. When I got it back I couldn't close it. I called her and explained, and she refused to fix it or refund it and then hung up on me. I had a friend bring it in anyway (I was out of town), and she agreed to fix it without charging (not sure if it made a difference that he's a man). However, when I got it back, it was sloppily done with tears and loose threads all over the place. The hanging straps were barely holding on by a thread. She also returned it with a big stain on it. My assumption is that she took some scissors and haphazardly snipped the new seams she had made and didn't bother to do anything past that. Still made him wait another week to pick it up. I paid her to damage my dress and keep it for weeks.

This business lost a loyal customer this week. I dropped off my riding jeans on Monday for a zipper repair. Mind you, these are $400 kevlar lined, armored jeans. Putting aside the ridiculous fee of $34 for a simple repair, I was told they'd be ready for pickup by Thursday. Fine.

Well, Thursday comes around and the lady sheepishly tells me the pants aren't ready yet: "Come back Friday, maybe Saturday." She blatantly dismisses my request for a discount to accommodate the inconvenience. I then ask for my pants back so I can take them to a more respectable business, to which she responds "Not here." ????

I then find out my pants are not around the corner at my local neighborhood tailor, but have been shipped off to ANOTHER CITY (Hanover, MD) for repair at another store without my consent?! Absolutely ridiculous! I will never patronize this business again!

Incredibly unprofessional. I've been a customer of Mt. Vernon Cleaners for years and spend well over a 1000 dollars annually on services here. I never write reviews. But this is the second time that I get to Mt Vernon Cleaners well within their business hours and they are closed without any indication why. Posted hours on the door indicate open until 6:30pm during the week. Hours online say open until 6:30pm. I get there on a Monday at 6:10pm: Closed, locked-up, neon sign dark. No note on the door. Please update your business hours! I needed my clothes for a work trip and now I have to figure out something else.

This is the second time this has happened to me. The first time the owner/manager was in her car sitting out front watching me knock and knock until a neighbor pointed out to me that this was the manager in her car and she begrudgingly came to open the shop back up over 20 minutes before they were supposed to close. No apology. No explanation. If the neighbor had not pointed her out, she would have just ignored me. I tried to explain this away as a fluke. But today the same thing happened again. I  saw her car out front and she drove off as I went to knock on the door. What kind of customer service is this? Unbelievable!

I’ve taken probably 10 bridesmaids dresses here over the past 8 years for alterations along with all my dry cleaning and absolutely adore them and their work! I’m embarrassed to say I took a dress about 6 months after a pretty muddy wedding here and they somehow made it look just like new. I recently brought in my baby to pickup a dress and the attendant brought my items out to my car for me. They do great work and are always delightful!

Amazing experience. I had an embellished dress that was baggy at the waist. I called DG alterations as they are really popular and had great reviews. I was told that they could not assist. S&K cleaners accepted my dress & did an amazing job. Looks like I bought the dress this way. I also had some jeans taken in at the waist due to having a gap in the back and you can’t tell it was altered. Customer service was amazing as well. 10/10 recommend.

I brought two pairs of jeans to get taken in at the waist and to have a zipper repaired. All I can say is WOW. My jeans fit so well now (no more gap) and the seams to take the jeans in are hardly visible! I feel as if the pricing was standard. I’ll definitely be bringing more pieces here.

I used them for their spectacular wash and fold service. They were always timely and the prices are extremely fair. I've moved away but didn't realize just how wonderful and friendly they were until I was forced to use a service in my new neighborhood. The staff is always kind and the service efficient. I would highly recommend them and am am considering trekking the distance to use them again.

I’ve been going here for months because it’s convenient and I work 6 days a week so doing my own laundry is difficult. Every time I take my clothes, the guy at the front has an attitude and is always rude no matter what day of the week it is. Every time I receive my clothes there’s new stains on them that were not there when I dropped my clothes off. I work at a restaurant as a host, I can not be showing up to work with random stain on my clothes. I’ve bought new clothes but the second I bring them to wash, they come back with new stains, at this point I’m paying $40 a week to get my clothes destroyed and let’s not forget the fact that they never smell clean. The photos I added aren’t even of everything. Every single piece of clothing I own now has a stain. Just do yourself a favor don’t go to them

I don't have anything to compare it to and this is the only laundromat I've really used, but I love this place. I mostly use them for their wash and fold service, it's so convenient to leave a heap of dirty clothes in the morning and come back to a clean and well folded set. I've also had a suit dry cleaned here a couple time, there was one time they told me they might not be able to get a smell out of it but when I returned the suit was as fresh smelling and clean as new. They do great work, and I would highly recommend them!

She sewed a sweater I ripped that I didn't think would be fixable or if she could fix it you'd be able to notice it!! Needless to say my favorite summertime beach night sweater looks brand new & for under $8, you can beat it! She always fixes whatever er I take up there her sewing skills are AMAZING!!

This is my neighborhood dry cleaner. Never had an issue - cleaning or alterations. The lady who runs the shop is super nice and very considerate - she called me to let me know they had altered hours/were closing early - I really appreciated the consideration and care.

The first time I went there I had about 40 shirts. The lady behind the counter fussed at me because not all of the buttons on my shirt such as the collar buttons had been undone. She said because the cleaning service is very cheap I needed to be considerate and make sure all the buttons of my shirts were undone before handing them over.  For the record, they charge $1.70 per shirt (which is fair, but hardly cheap).  Lesson learned.  The next time I went I got fussed at because my cat had decided to sleep in my hamper and had gotten hair over about 5 of the shirts. The lady was grumpy, explained to me that this was not acceptable, and charged me a $30 nuisance fee, although I talked her down to $10.  She also never asked how I wanted them starched and spent a fair amount of time speaking in Korean to what I assumed was her husband (from the tone, it didn't sound very complementary).  I give this 2 stars only because they did a reasonable job with the cleaning, but I will not be going back.

Be aware that if you give more than 10 shirts they randomly hand wash one and charge you $4.95 instead of regular $2!

I came to wash my clothes today and they are still in the washer. I had to get fabric softener. Came back and now the laundromat is closed. Ahead of the 7pm closing time. My clothes are currently wet and sitting in the washer, potentially overnight. I need assistance. I called and left a voicemail, nothing.

This used to be my go to laundromat for this side of town. It WAS clean, moderately priced, had good customer service, and friendly attendants. Yesterday, I paid this laundromat a visit, while it was clean, many of the machines did not work. Both the machines and dryers prices had increased. At a different laundromat I can wash 3 comforters (1 California King, 2 twin) for $13-$20). Here I needed at least $25. The bill breaker machine was broken, the change machine was barely responsive. The attendant/owner sits in his car. After waiting for him to come inside and help me, I was informed that, he did not have any change for larger bills and by larger bills I mean $5, $10, $20. If you don't want to be bothered with change, get card based machines like other laundromats.  After watching me fight with the change machine, he  fussed at me instead of helping me with it. I will never return here. It's sad to see the change in quality because there was a time when I would go here a couple times a month.

**After reading other reviews I noticed a pattern. If you're white it's a great experience, if you're black not so much. Spend your black dollars elsewhere it is clear that our business is not wanted here.

The owner is extremely rude. I used two washers, one for lights and one for darks, and put the same amount of detergent in both. The washer with light clothes still had a great amount of detergent after the rinse cycle. I called the owner to show him and he did not listen and directed me to talk to the woman who works there. She acknowledged that my clothes were not rinsed properly and said that she does not know what to do. She explains the situation to the owner and he comes and rudely tells me that I have to pay for another load despite having put the same quantity of detergent in both machines and one machine not rinsing well. It was my first and last time there. Good customer service does not exist there.

My home washer and dryer went out on me recently and this Laundromat really came in handy.
There are multiple sized washers. The smallest being the least expensive to use, can hold a lot of clothing. The dryers are very quick and efficient.
All machines only take quarters. There is an ATM in the building, but I'd recommend bringing your own cash and having the counter worker break change for you.

Moved back to the area for cancer treatments. Needed laundry done and was to weak to do it myself. Dropped off for wash and fold. They were wonderful with me and my laundry.  Fast service with outstanding customer service. Dropped off my down comforter to be washed, the next day I was hospitalized for almost a month. My comforter stayed at Federal Hill Laundry for almost 6 months. When I called to explain the situation right after I got out of ICU, I was told not to worry about it it would be there as long as it needed to be. I finally picked it up almost 6 months later . I know most places only keep for 60-90 days. Not this place!!! Every person I have dealt with has been great. Thank you for the wonderful service you provide to the community

Lucy Cleaners saved me from having to buy a new bridesmaid dress 2 weeks before the wedding! After tripping on the cord to my wax warmer, wax spilled ALL over the back of my dress (yes, as ridiculous as it sounds). I was freaking out, but within a week the dress was ready and was spotless. My fiancée did the drop off and pick up so I did not meet the staff personally, but he said the woman at the front was very sweet and great to work with. I am so thankful for their help!

The lady at the front desk had a thick, hard to understand accent, but she was still nice and repeated herself as many times as I needed her to. She did an amazing job cleaning and sewing patches on to my favorite black wool jacket - it was covered in white powder stains - and when I got it back the patches were elegantly sewn on the sleeves exactly where I asked her to place them, with the thread tightly hugging their edges so it looked like they had always been there, as part of the jacket itself.

The new management here is amazing! I’ve had several pants altered and tailored and they always look great. Owners are very nice and always have my clothes looking fresh. They have the best shop in the area!

Had two suit jackets cleaned and an alteration done. Went to wear one of the suit jackets a week later and realized they had replaced one of the front buttons with a cheap, plastic version that looked nothing like the other, without telling me. Not sure if they knocked it off in the cleaning process or what, but not a good way to do business on their part. I now have to replace both front buttons because of how ridiculous it looks and, needless to say, will not be going back.

I had a great experience. I brought in two pulpit robes. One robe had mold on the sash and needed to be reattached. Also, she added the bars on the sleeves to both robes. The robes were ready when she said they would be and they look absolutely amazing. I highly recommend them, they have excellent customer service.

Lexington Cleaners had been my go-to spot for dry cleaning during my time in the city. The owner is very sweet and gets your clothes ready on time. Sometimes the store is closed when the owner is away, so make sure to call ahead before heading there if you don’t have time for a potential wait. They have 3 for 2 specials on Tuesdays, which is an awesome deal.

I had some very intricate alteration/repair work done on 2 beloved long sleeve, patterned shirts that were torn on the sleeves and elbows from age and wear.

Unbelievable detail and attention to both. They were patched and then resown and will last for years to come. I could not believe my eyes when the shirts were picked up. And they went the extra mile of pressing them.

I've been going there for over 20 years, they have changed ownership once, but I've always had excellent service and a pleasant experience.

I have been to this establishment many times. They seem ok but suddenly I'm faced with the decision to post a bad review. I put my clothing items in on a Monday. I asked for a Thursday pick up. The merchant stated Friday. So I agreed.
I get there to pick up my items on the scheduled day of Friday only to find out that they were not ready! Really?! 5 days and not complete for $70.00!!
One time she held my clothes for nearly 9 months. I came in one day and she looked at my name  and pulled out clothes I thought were missing. This merchant  charged me for storage! Are you serious?
Not returning after giving her 10 years of business.
Buyer beware!!!
