Not only is Mrs. K the sweetest lady but she does great work at fair prices. She altered my dress to be so figure flattering I can’t wait to wear it to my event! Mrs. K even held my baby and played with him so I could try my dress on to make sure I liked it.

As a new resident of Macon, I was eager to find a reliable and timely alterations place. After some research, K’s Cleaners stood out at first glance. On my first visit, Kitty seemed like a sweet and helpful lady, and I was willing to pay $60 for hemming just one pair of pants. She mentioned she was busy with wedding and prom season, so I didn’t mind paying the high price since I had an important event two weeks away.

As I continued to bring my clothes to her, I noticed that she was always busy. Regardless of how early I dropped off my items, she would consistently charge the highest price. For my next visit, I was heading on vacation, so I dropped off my clothes an entire month in advance to avoid any rush fees. I needed a button replaced on one of my pants, and I even provided the button for her to use. I also needed one of my shirts pressed. Confident that I had given her plenty of time, I expected everything to be ready without issues.

However, the day before my trip, when I went to pick up my clothes, I noticed some of the items had not been dry cleaned as I had requested via text. When I pointed this out, she acted like I was crazy and said there was nothing she could do because it was too late. I had to quickly find another cleaners before my flight.

When it came time to pay, I reached for my wallet, and as Kitty handed me my change, I noticed it was short from the amount she had originally quoted. When I questioned her, she confidently stated that the new amount was what she had said from the beginning, which was a lie. I made a mental note of this and left.

Once home, I unpacked my clothes, and that’s when the real nightmare began. The shirt that was supposed to be pressed looked like it had been carelessly tossed, and my designer jeans had been altered with a completely different button than the one I had provided. To make matters worse, Kitty still has my original button.

This experience was my final one with K’s Cleaners. Kitty does a great job of masking her true feelings about her brown customers through fake customer service. As long as you’re spending money, she’ll pretend to be nice, but it’s clear she doesn’t appreciate you. To my fellow brown people, please take your business elsewhere. Find a place that values your time, gives you the service you deserve, and doesn’t shortchange you.

I brought Kitty a unique wedding dress that is made of a very delicate fabric and had two pieces to it. It was a tough job and she NAILED IT! When I got home I realized there were a few things that I needed changed (not her fault, it was my fault for not speaking up in the moment!) and she let me bring the dress back and worked hard to make sure I was happy with my dream dress for my big day. The dresses are now perfect and I can't wait to wear them! Kitty is a master of her craft and really took the time and care to make sure I was pleased with the final alteration. I hate to give bad reviews to anyone, but I would want to let people know this dry cleaning service does not deliver.  Brought in suit jacket because it had a dried-on stain.  When it was returned, the stain was still there (see "before" picture).  With just a little scratch/scrape with my fingernails, it came right off (see "after" picture).  I am not convinced that the coat was even cleaned; instead, I think there was just plastic wrap placed around it.

I have used Gem since moving to Macon 8 years ago. Their laundry work is superb, always neat and expertly done; they make an extra effort to remove stains and leave you a note that they found it but couldn’t remove it safely without compromising the fabric. If ever there’s a problem, they bend over backwards to do right by the customer . Have used their alterations service on occasion and found the wok to be high quality. They don’t hesitate to tell a customer when they think repair of the garment is economically unfeasible as where it is too old to be expected to last long  enough afterwards as to be worth the investment. Also, they don’t hesitate to advise against a repair where it will leave a color discrepancy showing in part a portion of the original fabric in its unblemished color, as compared to the current fabric, faded by sunlight and continuous washing.

That said, the real “gem” in Gem Cleaners is Priscilla, manager of the Ingleside store. She is always friendly, courteous and helpful. I believe she has been there since the doors opened, and her experience shows. She knows how to treat customers not only because of the economic reasons, but more importantly because she is such a thoroughly decent person concerned over all to do the right thing in every situation which may not always be the cheapest out for Gem. It reflects very well not only on the strength of her character but the integrity of Gem Cleaners, as well; had the company not been happy with her performance in these matters they could easily have discharged her; but I’ve never seen nor heard of anything to suggest that any disciplinary sanctions have ever been taken against her.  Too, it is worthy of note that being a native Maconite, I have quite a few friends who trade at Gem and any comments I’ve ever heard about Priscilla or Gem have been nothing but glowing.

The only criticism I have involves the state of its
facility. IMO, the maintenance of a facility, especially in its public areas, tells the world about how management feels about the quality of its business. Though the premises are always clean and tidy, Gem’s interior is quite rundown.It doesn’t appear that any attention has been given to the store since the doors opened. The shabbiness has to make some customers, especially prospects looking for a new laundry, wonder whether management’s inattention to its own “house” is an indication of how their clothing will be handled. It could also be an indication of the company’s financial condition.  The importance of that information is obvious and important for anyone who’s ever gone to a laundry to pick up clothing or heard from friends about a similar situation happening to them; on arrival, they find a sign on the front door advising that the laundry has filed for bankruptcy and that customers should contact the trustee, when appointed, for instructions on procedure as to  when  and where to present claim checks to obtain any property left for cleaning.

This is the best alteration shop you will find around! The seamstress will work wonders. I asked the impossible, and they did everything they could do to make it possible...in less than a week! I thought the alterations I had done would cost about $100. It was only $30..and she had me come back three times during the process to make sure everything was right.

I used to work for this cleaners back in 2007-2008. Mr Danny Patel who was a great boss and Ms. Betty who worked front counter was like a 2nd mom to us workers. But I recently learned Mr. Danny sold the cleaners which I hated to hear but life goes on at some point for us all. I wish Him and all my other co workers well!

They are reasonably priced and offer discounts for pre paying. I did have an issue with one of my shirts not coming completely clean but the management rectified the situation at no cost.

Only thing is that when you ask for estimate on an alteration they will not tell you. I had 2 shirts that had sleeves taken up (my husband has short arms). I asked what it would cost or an estimate. Said did not know. With having them pressed and altered it cost me $88!. I have 2 pair of pants to p/u now as hubby has lost weight and waistline needed done as he is wearing one to a wedding. I am dreading to see what that will be. But otherwise they DO do a great job

If you're a Black American, please avoid this cleaners because they will charge you more or act as if the service you're requesting can't be completely. I've been coming here for months&receivedvgreat service until yesterday. I went to this cleaners around a month ago&a caucasian lady was in front of me with a dress to hem&the spring dress was long and the material was made exactly like mines. The young Asian guy at the counter was so courteous to her, he escourted he to the bathroom to the rear left side of the cleaners, so that he could see how far she wanted the dress hemmed up. After seeing this, I brought my two spring dresses to have them hemmed and I had mines pinned where I wanted mines hemmed and he spoke to me with less enthusiasm and tried to convince me because of the material of my dress, it sometimes "hard" to hemmed. Also, he charged me close to $100, to hem (w/o dry cleaning) two spring dresses that were the same length&material as the caucasian lady dress. He said the cost could be less&if so he would refund me. I shall see, but this will be my last time coming here. If you're Black American, please be careful here.

I just had the worst racial discrimination today Saturday September 21,2024 from B.A. Cleaner. The store had just closed at 2pm and I was a few minutes late, there was a male sitting in the back with  the door opened and I asked if I could get my son's suit out for homecoming tonight,  and he said no along with a few other harsh words.  I went and sat in my truck, I had a feeling that someone was going to come by for the same reason. Not even 2 minutes later a white female pulled up for the same reason I was there and he was willing going to give her her son's suit. I got out to start taking pictures and video of everything,  then he decided to say he was not going to give her anything. Long story short is after this I gave the lady my ticket and asked her to get it for me when I drive off because I knew if I'd driven off earlier she was going to get her suit while I was going to be stuck without mines. She got both suit and brought it to me. I hope whomsoever reads this, do not used this racist business.

They do a great job and I love how they know me by name whenever I come by.

The owner calls me "Alabama" and nowadays when I drive in, they go get my clothes without me even giving them a receipt.

Recently I needed a dress altered and they had it ready in a week at the Forsyth location. They did a beautiful job.

Today I was behind someone else and as soon as I drove up they handed me my vest I had pressed.

When you use the same vendors over and over, you forge a relationship with them.

I took all my dress shirts to a different cleaners a few hundred yards away from GEM cleaners for the past few years, but the other company's quality of work had steadily declined!
I decided to go to GEM cleaners, and their prices are just as affordable as the other place, and my white shirt collars are so much cleaner, and they actually get out the white anti-perspirant residue from my darker black or navy blue dress shirts!
After my first visit to them a few weeks ago, I have been back three times to take other shirts, and Tinisha is super cool to deal with!
On another positive note, I can't believe how quickly they clean and press them...
All three times it's been "Next Day Ready"!!!
I Don't even expect anyone to have my clothes ready the next day, but it sure has been refreshing to find a good cleaners again!

Great Service. You can make an online appointment, get a text confirmation, have your stuff picked up, pay their online invoice and pretty much get all your laundry back folded in 24 hours. We have used them when our old washer broke, then when we came back from vacation, and now when we were remodeling our laundry room. Super spoiled by their folding skills, which make my efforts look like I’m still in college lol. Good prices and very friendly too!

We booked our laundry service online, and they picked up the clothes the next morning at the time we selected. A few hours later, we received an email with the price quote. However, the listed weight did not seem accurate to us. I called to say that I would just pick up the clothes instead, but the individual on the phone said they were already almost done and that we would still be charged the full price.
I’m not sure why they began washing the clothes without us agreeing to the quote, especially since the total was nearly double what we expected. During the call, the representative was unprofessional and rude. When I mentioned that I didn’t think the weight was accurate,
he said that one of the bags was so heavy it almost made him, as he put it, “bust a nut putting it in the van.” This comment was highly inappropriate—especially when speaking to a customer, let alone a female customer.
He then said, “Well, what do you want to do? I already gave you a discount,” which came across as dismissive. The clothes were dropped off the next morning, and when we weighed them again, the weight did not match what they had quoted.
To be fair, the folding was done nicely, but the customer service was extremely disappointing. Additionally, we live in an apartment complex, and they left our clothes outside without notifying us that they had been delivered, so they sat there unattended.
Overall, while the quality of the laundry itself was decent, the lack of professionalism and poor communication made this a very frustrating experience.

I hope this place stays in business forever. They are friendly, fast, and are SO good at what they do. Super easy to book an Appointment. Clothing is returned extremely clean, smelling good, folded perfectly (I’ve never seen clothing folded so perfectly lol!!) and wrapped in a plastic bag to keep it clean. It’s 100% worth the money. Personally, for me they provide more than just washing clothing. My laundry had piled up and became overwhelming, it stressed me out constantly. The mental relief I got having this business do it for me was truly wonderful. The stress was gone, and I have beautifully clean clothing to wear! Highly recommend this place.

I had an unpleasant experience here a few days ago- after brining my laundry in in a plastic garbage bag and setting it in the basket in the scale,  the attendant removed the bag from the basket and the bottom of the bag ripped on the metal and she spilled all the clothes out on the floor. At this point she became upset, I expressed sympathy for the bad luck and explained to her that my bag was intact as evidenced by the fact that I brought it inside without issue and this was not my doing, but she insisted it was and I that I collect the spilled clothes despite my stating that I did not have time b/c I had several small children waiting in the car. In my opinion, both the attendant’s demeanor and inability to take responsibility for her own error was the pinnacle of unprofessionalism and poor customer service- something I do not want or need in my day!

I took a brand new $1200 linen suit, tags still on the suit to get ironed. When I picked up the suit spots were on the pants. When I pointed out the spots he goes in an out roar saying that someone did that before the suit was brought to him

This company ruined my husbands jersey and spelled my name completely wrong 😑 who is Anjerica. The fact that I didn’t look at it until I got it to my husband (one of his favorite jerseys) they did not care to tell me that the jersey was COMPLETELY RUINED. Kind and friendly staff. I have never had any bad experiences with them and they have been dry cleaning my clothes for years. The only issue I ever had was with a shirt that I had that had a label on the chest that had been glued on. The heat from when they processed it made the label fall off of the shirt but I didn’t know the label was glued on- I thought it was sewn on and that not their fault. I have been going here for years and will continue to.

Really needs better housekeeping I have someone that does cleaning for make ready apartments that’s skilled and can stop in twice a day to maintain good housekeeping just let me know cause if I would’ve known I wouldn’t have put my clothes in it I swear I almost threw up

This place is well lit from the parking lot to the interior, the machines are reasonably priced, and it is SUPER clean. The attendant, Terry, was cleaning the entire time I was there. He was also very polite and helpful. Very happy with this location and will definitely return. I used the change machine so no info on the card readers.

I love the fact that I can wash, dry, and fold 2 loads of laundry in a hour and a half! The place is really clean, but the restrooms are both out of order! It's a big issue if you're elderly and you have bladder problems!😂

The place was clean. Well lit and well organized. The prices for the washing machines and dryers are in line with what I see most everywhere you go these days. And as far as I'm concerned, both did an adequate job. The one other customer was there having difficulties was directed to go across to the gas station because it's the same owner. As to how things are resolved. I don't know but at least there's somebody there you can contact.

Nice and clean for the most part. I did bring my own wipes to wipe the washer and dryer down. Their was some sticky stuff in one of the dryers. I decided not to use that one. Also, the bathroom was clean, but there were no soap or paper towels available, so that's a downside. They do have a change machine which is good and some supplies you can buy.  As others have said, I wouldn't use the card reader because you never know the hidden charges. Overall, I will be back. If I have to use it again.

My first experience went very well. Quite a few people there at the time, however there were still open machines. Plenty of folding tables around. Machines as well as facility are very clean and kept up! Staff present at all times! **Not extremely hot as most places get without AC** They offer other services - leave and pickup washed/dried/FOLDED! Overall, good prices. (Smaller single load machines are slightly over priced for size, bigger machines very fairly priced for load capacity!) Snack and drink machines available. All other basic necessities available for purchase: detergent, softener, dryer sheets, etc. Coin machine available. They also can provide change for bigger bills if needed. Got there today with my dad in his wheelchair and It didn't matter to anyone to let him by, when we were able to get by we got the smaller washers which was fine. I asked the attendant if the last washer on the row I was washing in was work and I got the ok to use it just for it to have so crazy spin out and start sparking while in the spin cycle. I absolutely do not like the new owners the man never comb his hair and just looks like he shouldn’t own anything but is always smiling and the women walks around with her nose in the air pretends to clean but just stares at every one and i had 2 customers come up to me because they had never been there before and they didn’t want to talk to the women..then the bathroom is so dirty its ridiculous and there was no toilet paper i came here a few times thinking it would be better but no the women had the nerve to change the channel when shes sees its 4 different people watching it and put on something she wanted to watch that skipped the whole time a few people left and sat in their car in the heat they need to be shut down i also put 5 quarters in the dryer and i only had like 6 or 7 towels in there and it still was not dry they are not cleaning the lint smh the washing machines have mold the the man stays outside on the phone the health department needs to make a trip here just horrible

This place is awesome. VERY Clean. Everything works great.Especially the dryers.One of the owners was there running the place..He was friendly and helpful. Every 2nd Thursday of the month from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM anyone gets to wash & dry free. They also have free WIFI..Don't know if I am ever going to be in the area again But it sure was a great place..

Their laundry bags here are also very large and cost $9.00 as of today *(all prices are as of today)

Change machine for loading a laundry card to do the work. Its all simple and easy.

From the smaller machines starting out at $2.29 to about $6.90 for the extra large machines for blankets and other heavier/bulky items; you'll have everything you need to get your laundry done quickly and efficiently. To that point, the washing machine times are about 20 mins per wash, and about 7 minutes per credit for the dryers. Each dryer starts at about .33 cents for the smaller dryers up to .89 cents for the extra large dryers (per credit). Clean bathroom, locations to sit and relax and watch TV while you wait. Plenty of parking spaces surrounding the building property.

This is esentially the best place to come for your washing needs.

The building is nice, the place is clean, there are plenty of newer, mostly operational machines of various sizes.

The reason for my star rating is the payment method. I understand the reason for it, but I despise the way it's implemented here.

Probably not an issue for someone who comes here regularly, but not a good option for someone passing through or for whatever reason will only be here once. It's not difficult to see how you'll be stuck with your $1 card and whatever balance you're left with from the weird prices and only being able to add $1 increments to the card.

On top of this, my typical load that usually completely dries with one quarter on other machines that I've used, has so far taken three cycles to dry on one of their dryers.

Since I'm in town only temporarily, I'll see what the other laundromat options are before I come back here.

Just remember that there are almost no coin laundromats in operation. This one takes cash, which is loaded onto a plastic card and that is used for everything in the store. All machines work well and quickly.

It's a great place to stop and wash your laundry. Nice and clean. On another note we are travelers for work and the laundry card is non sense, put cash in a machine and get a laundry card. $1 deposit for the card, we were only stopping this one time to do laundry, never received the $1 deposit for the card back. Seems they would have a few cash/change machines for out of towners to use. Not like the 2 people that work there can't empty quarters out of the machines, they didn't move from the seat while we were there.

I will never go there again. My clothes have simple stains on my pants, like from potato chips. And they seemed to be very lightly lightly damped. I should've gone somewhere elsewhere when she asked to do my clothes at her house. So far, 2 pairs of pants have stains. 1 pair I remember was potato chips I wiped my hand on. So maybe she shoved so many in a normal size washer and didn't use enough detergent. The stuff didn't come out. $50:for maybe rinsing my clothes. Ridiculous. Never again. I stopped by to use the washroom during the storm from the power outage. I was pleasantly surprised due  to the fact that I hadn't used a laundromat in years. It was nice and clean. The appliances were up to date and reasonably priced to use washer and dryer.

No attendants to enforce the rules, like not allowing people to PARK in the loading zone or hangout in the inside, nor keep it clean. The only time it's worth a visit is when the regular attendants are available.  Machines are well maintained, though, just sporadic staff coverage, and no available phone to call in case of an issue.

Attendant was there. I was able to get coins and there were several of each machine. I paid $4 for the washer with the basket in front of it. It took 22 min. Place was clean and clear rules were hanging on the walls ex: keep kids out of washer/dryer. No public bathroom. Coins for customer only.

Not too busy of a place, had an ok vibe. The thing is the washers look so dirty and unsanitary within the glass. I would love to see this place get at least a good machine detailing.

I’ve been going her for years. I think today was my last day. The washers have went up - the large washers are now 4.75, medium 4.50, and the small are 4.25. Inflation - I understand. The dryers are the reason I won’t return. THEY DON’T DRY YOUR CLOTHES. 15 out of the 20 dryers don’t get hot. It will take almost $5-$7 and a hour and a half to dry one load. You will be playing roulette with your clothes.

Open 24hrs, washers n dryers work good! Only thing that I don't like about this place is the parking! Only a few spots available n because of the gas station next door they are never available

DO NOT use apple pay to wash / dry clothes. I lost $30 trying to find a suitable machine that works.

Machines need to be fixed dryer smell funny after drying your clothes but other than that they washed well clean place

Washer and coin machine took my money 3 times, do not use the app bc the machine will not connect, coin machine did fully dispense my coins, when management was called they could not resolve any of my issues

Dryers need filters cleaned more often, but It is nice to have a 24 hour laundromat available.
