Do not recommend….. I was charged without my consent even though I asked over 10 times how much it would be….. I needed to know before consenting to the order and was NEVER told!!!! They just kept sending me their pricing table. I needed the exact weights and total. It was all withheld from me!!

Also all the stuff was delivered blocking my whole door way so i couldn’t even get in.

Update (12/15) the company contacted me not just here but via phone. They seemed to understand and care about the situation. I was given a credit and tried them again. This time went WAAAYYY more smoothly. Clothes were clean and everything was picked up and came back in a timely fashion.

For single moms like me who have medical issues, this service can be a big help. It’s good to know they listen and are trying to improve.

Unreal. I’ve used the service a few times since I am a single mom who underwent spine surgery recently. The second time I used them a few of my items came back dirty. I just rewashed them at home and gave it another chance. Didn’t even bother to say anything because we had a good first time experience before that and figured it was a fluke.

Today, the driver showed up and didn’t even wait. He claims he came back but my son was going from the apartment to the lobby waiting for him and he took off again. I am in recovery and my kid is 14. We don’t have an elevator in our building. Maybe waited a couple of minutes and never rang the bell. The second time I didn’t know he even came back since I was speaking with customer service. When they said he was outside he had already written he had left. I’m never using this service again. They don’t care about their customers. They only care about money and it is not cheap. For something the price they want to charge, you would expect to have better service. Never again.

After over 30 years in hospitality I have never been more impressed with an online service! The most impressive part is the personal attention, immediate correspondence and professionalism despite the service being run mainly through the app! We used Rinse when our washing machine broke while we were waiting on a new one and the service was great.  The texts and communicates were very clear and it was easy to get our laundry picked up and dropped off without much hassle.  Appreciated the ease and flexibility of scheduling.

Wow, living in the north end I have went to many different wash and folds but this place is by far the absolute best. Lan the owner takes her customer service very serious and she proved today by staying 3 hours past the closing time. That’s right 3 hours they close at 6pm and I am here at 9pm picking up my clothes because I told her I needed it the same day! They do not do same day pick up and she made an exception for me! I recently visited the Dependable Cleaners on Newbury Street and, unfortunately, had an experience that left me deeply disappointed. As a new and expecting mother, I brought in a pair of pajamas that hold significant sentimental value they were a gift from my husband and I hoped to have the waistband and sides let out to accommodate for my growing body. Prior to making the trip from Needham, I called to confirm the tailor’s schedule.

Upon arriving, however, I was met with an unexpectedly dismissive attitude. One of the associates I spoke with made several unnecessary remarks, including suggesting that my pajamas were “not of value” and implying they were not worth altering. This judgment felt both unwarranted and insensitive, especially given the personal significance of the item and my clear effort to inquire respectfully and specifically about the service.

To add to the frustration, I ultimately learned that the alteration could not be completed after all directly contradicting the information I was given over the phone. The entire visit felt like a discouraging misuse of my time and energy at a moment when both are especially precious.

Given the lack of professionalism and the dismissive tone I encountered, I cannot recommend this location.

I brought a brand new children’s jacket with tire marks to the dry cleaner and paid $20 for the service. The most visible marks were removed, but a new white spot, resembling a bleach stain, appeared on the jacket — and it was definitely not there before. The staff offered to clean it again, but even after the second attempt the mark remained. It was obvious that it hadn’t been removed but simply covered up.
I took the jacket back, as I saw no point in coming every two days only to be told that nothing could be done. The staff member who handed me the jacket the second time also confirmed that this white stain had not been there originally, as she was the one who accepted the jacket in the first place and clearly remembered how it looked. I was also promised a call from the manager, but it has been almost a week and no one has contacted me.
I am very disappointed with the quality of service: the jacket was not properly cleaned and ended up with additional damage. Minor tire marks I could have accepted, but the white bleach-like stain caused by improper handling completely ruined the jacket. I believe the dry cleaner should take responsibility for the damage.

Michelle, Michelle, MICHELLE… where do I begin?! I was lucky enough to cross paths with her about a decade ago when I lived in the North End and needed my graduation romper tailored within 48 hours. Needless to say she delivered and made sure it fit like a GLOVE.

Since then, I have brought her dozens of bridesmaid / event dresses over the years — and she nails it every single time. Some of which have been challenging as the dresses have been way to large / small — but no matter what, she somehow makes magic happen and makes them not only fit but look amazing on me every single time. Her talent as a seamstress is profound, and even in the times I’ve given her only a few days to turn it around, she never says no, and she never falls short!

Michelle, I would have been kicked out of countless bridal parties if it weren’t for you 🤣  everyone go see her immediately for any and all things tailoring!!!!

Michelle is a genuinely kind and hardworking person, and her tailoring is excellent. I’ve always admired her dedication and the quality of her work. That said, I’ve had to stop using her services.

There have been multiple times I arrived to pick up items that weren’t ready, even after calling ahead as she recommends. Most recently, I had a pair of pants tailored — I called the day before to confirm they were done, went to pick them up, but they weren’t ready. I returned a week later and finally picked them up, but when I got home, I realized only the waist had been altered and the hem alterations had been skipped entirely. I drove back to drop them off again, and she told me they’d be ready the next day. When I returned two days later, they still weren’t done. She offered to finish them in 30 minutes, so I waited around and picked them up afterward.

Michelle’s skill is undeniable, but I think the volume of her tailoring business has grown beyond what she can reasonably handle on her own. I know others who’ve also experienced delays. If you live nearby, the back-and-forth might be manageable, but for someone who has to drive in, it becomes difficult to rely on the turnaround time.

I sincerely hope Michelle can hire some support and continue growing her business. She deserves it. But for now, I’ll need to find tailoring closer to home.

I’m not that impressed. The guy is nice but seems unwilling to say anything will actually work. He sent me home twice to hand wash a dress and said he’d dry clean it after, but literally im doing all the work now. What is the point of dry cleaning something that’s already clean? Also when I brought something in for mending he said his alterations person could “try” something. Seems like he’s throwing up his arms and saying “well just don’t expect much” every time I go in. Which so far has resulted in me just taking my stuff out of there again instead of leaving it with him. I’m not saying he should be psychic, but surely as this is his trade he should be able to say with reasonable confidence “this will work” or “it won’t”. After 4 visits ending the same way, I’m going to take business elsewhere.

I took several things in for cleaning and he happily, patiently answered all my questions about the different types of cleaning, how the softness wouldn't be affected, etc. On top of that he found ripped seams in multiple pieces and asked if I'd like them fixed, and they were well mended. Later I brought a pair of pants with a bad zipper that I was about to donate, but he was able to do a new zipper no problem!
Note that they do alternations but don't pin you - you'd need to provide the measurements you want.

tl;dr: this is the only cleaner I'll go to from now on.

NEVER bring your clothes here for repair. I brought a nice jacket to fix the inside that got broken. They added a horrible white stripe to bring ends together with a very poor sewing quality. Don’t bring your clothing here for repairs or you will be sorry and still you would have to pay for a very poor job.

Because they were in the plastic, I didn’t notice it at the beginning. The owner refused to help me and only returned four of the shirts after bringing back six. She also refused to give me my receipt. She was denying me access to property and my receipt for the purchase- so much so- the police had to get involved for me to get what I was asking for. BPD got the receipt. I totally understand things happen, and I wasn’t even upset about the shirts being stained, but she also refused to rectify it or refund me. I am taking her to small claims court.

Would give 10 stars if u could! They were able to get two tough stains out of some of my clothes, and put a rush on a pair of pants I needed altered last minute for a wedding. When the seamstress wasn’t able to drop off my pants in time they went and picked them up themselves so I would have them for the event. Price very reasonable and service very friendly

This place is phenomenal! So, I acquired two vintage military coats, both of which are made of very heavy, coarse wool. I was little unsure how to go about getting them cleaned as both coats had been in long-time storage and were grimey. I saw several positive reviews for this place and figured I'd give them a try and what an EXCELLENT decision!! They were incredibly friendly, the drop off process was easy and they send a link to keep you in the loop and should they need some extra time with a garment they do call. When I picked up the coats they were wonderfully clean and fresh smelling. I swear the color was even brighter. Best of all, the price was more than reasonable. In a nutshell, I've definitely found my go-to cleaners for Boston.

Columbus Cleaners does a fabulous job with unique pieces. I’ve had a leather jacket cleaned there when there was a spill in the lining and have been taking coats there ever since. Absolutely awful experience. This business is completely unprofessional, dishonest, and impossible to work with. I brought in a $250 dress that they damaged, and instead of taking responsibility, they sent it to Nordstrom without my permission pretending to be me in order to get a refund. That’s not just shady, it’s unethical and potentially illegal.

They offered me $50 and a refund for the cleaning, as if that would cover the damage or excuse them for impersonating me and sending my property somewhere without asking. They take no accountability and try to gaslight their way out of every situation.

They hide behind being a “small business,” but that doesn’t excuse this kind of behavior. Being a small business means you should operate with more integrity, not less. Save yourself the headache and go literally anywhere else.

Came across Continental Cleaners, and sooo happy I did!
Although I didn't need it same day, I couldn't afford to wait 3+ days.
Went in ,dropped off suit to very pleasant man, and was informed that suit wouldn't be ready until next day.(This time frame worked for me).
Got a phone call almost immediately, explaining the shirt had bad stain, but he would try.
Next day, I picked it up, he saved my shirt,  and remembered my name the minute I walked in!

DO NOT COME FOR TAILORING. I had dropped off two fairly expensive pairs of pants ~$200 from Paul Smith and Officine Generale to be hemmed, one with and another without a cuff. I was told that she could do them no problem and I left them pinned at the length desired. When I had come home to try them on, the execution was really poor and probably needs to be redone because the stitching is uneven and the inside looks raw and unfinished. I called to raised my concerns and the woman agreed that they were not well done and said that they took her a really long time and that she was very frustrated with how difficult they were. I wish she had simply called to tell me she couldn't do them and I would have been happy to go to another tailor but instead they were so poorly finished and I am unsure if they can even be fixed. She said there was nothing that she could do for me even though I wish I was refunded.

The talented seamstress was at lunch, the owner took a look at my zipper and repaired it in seconds with needle nose pliers. Oh my goodness! No charge! I AM a regular customer, but it's not like I'm there every week. I love this place! Ashmont has fair prices, my clothes are always nicely cleaned. I brought a fur coat here for lining cleaning and minor hole repair. The repair was done with a visible patch, and the surrounding damage remains noticeable. The lining stains also remained unchanged after cleaning.

I understand that results may vary, but the final outcome showed minimal improvement relative to the service requested and the $65 charge. I wish there had been clearer communication beforehand regarding what could realistically be achieved.

I paid in full to retrieve my coat, but overall, the service did not meet my expectations. The owner is quite rude.

Used this place for the first time today and I'm extremely pleased. Brought 2 garbage bags full of clothes needing to be washed (socks, cloth napkins, jeans, tshirts, shorts, underwear, sweatpants, button down shirts that didn't need dry cleaning). The owner let me choose which detergent I wanted (I chose Arm & Hammer Unscented, although there were other perfumed brands), and weighed both bags. Everything total came to $42.

I only had clothing that could be dumped in a machine on basic temperatures and regular drying cycles, so your mileage may vary if you include blankets, delicates, dry cleaned things, or anything that's out of the ordinary. I brought everything at 10am, and it was ready at 2pm. All of the shirts were on hangers and buttoned, and everything else was folded carefully in stacks in clear plastic bags. Opened the bag at home and everything was washed/dried well, and nothing smelled like smoke or perfume (some cleaners will mix other people's clothes together and I've had bad experiences where my items were clearly mixed with smoker's clothes. This was not the case at this location.)

I'm very pleased and I will definitely bring laundry here again, and some basic things to be tailored like shorts and skirts. The owner is very nice but can be rushing around, so if you have items that need ultra special directions, I'd come in right when the shop opens, or make sure she writes down notes.

The shop is very clean, smells pleasant, and the washers/dryers/pressers are modern and up to date. A great place if you have a lot of bags of clothes needing a quick turnaround, or if you need blankets/comforters/sleeping bags cleaned.

Note: They take cash and credit/debit cards, but cards are only for $10 or more.

Amazing service! I had my dress tailored and it was a difficult fabric to work with but I got it back within a few days and it was beautifully done. Very fairly priced and the dress was steamed for me on pick up too, what a nice surprise! Will definitely be going back here for any alterations
