Tide Cleaners

Emily at Tide could benefit from customer service training. I stopped in today to pick up another order. While there I explained my last order the interior lining of the dress was stitched directly into the seam of the zipper. The dress which I did not inspect after picking up last week was for our holiday dinner. I had to remove the stitching and see the dress at home as the work was poor quality and completely inhibited the use of the zipper. It NEVER occurred to me I should double check their work. I don’t double check the car dealer has reassembled my car after an oil change. As I explained to Emily the surprise and disappointment of such poor work, she blankly looked at me and then simple said “well we send those out to some for repair but we do free redos”. Zero empathy, zero apology. Which was more annoying than anything. Exemplary customer service in my opinion is the ability to empathize and offer some solace. I didn’t expect anything for free. It would have also be amazing had Tide checked the work caught the issue. You’re running a business and trust an outsourced vendor to represent your business. The outcome was poor. It’s not hard to do better.

UPDATE: Response received from local owner mentioned (below) that a weekly text or email was attempted. That was 100% not the case. I would like verification of what phone number and or email address you have on file. I have done a thorough scrub of both my email and phone records and do not see where Tide Cleaners has called me. PSA: Think Twice Before Using Tide Cleaners I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Tide Cleaners has left me extremely disappointed. I recently went to pick up my clothes—only to find out they had been donated without my knowledge. Tide Cleaners has a “6-month donation policy,” which I was never informed of, nor could I find this policy disclosed clearly on their website. Yes, I take responsibility for not picking up my items sooner. But with nearly $400 worth of clothing involved, I would have expected at least a phone call, email, or text alerting me before they gave my belongings away. Tide Cleaners: this is unacceptable. You need to do better in communicating your policies. Customers deserve transparency and a chance to reclaim their property before it’s permanently gone.

I’ve taken numerous items to Tide Cleaners in Town & Country, and I’ve loved it. It is usually same day service and the employees are very polite and friendly. Tide is also very generous with coupons, so you are never paying a ton of money.

I had taken in a comforter for washing before and was pleased. So I brought in 3 coats for dry cleaning. One was cream colored. After "cleaning" when I got home, I saw that the cream coat still looked a little soiled near the bottom and cuffs (which I had pointed off when I dropped it off) and had lots of lint on it and even hair on stuck on the back. I returned it to be cleaned again. The soiling along the edges didn't look much better (other than brush rake marks - don't they have solvents to remove dirt?). They had also made a new grease spot near a button. It still had lots of lint, but at least the hair on the back was gone. I got out the grease spot with dawn, lightened the soiling along the edges with dawn, and went over the whole thing with a lint cleaner, getting off about the same amount of line that I would find on my dryer lint filter after a small load. Not sure why I bothered to take it in since I had it looking better. Makes me wonder how "clean" the other two darker coats are.

I love the ease of taking dry cleaning to Tide cleaners. Pull right up to the door and do everything from the car without having to park and walk in. This is especially wonderful with kids or when the weather is unpleasant. Obviously, the quality of the service is also worthy of the rating. I can’t speak to how they handle any issues that might arise as I’ve never had one with them.
