I used to come to this laundromat when I was a toddler with my mom. idk how long this place has been in operation, but more than 55 years, I know. Now I know things change. but this place Raked in the money. It was a gold mine & being in the heart of a university town, you would think it would have been maintained. But sadly, when I walked through those doors last week, the lack of care or pride in ownership was palpable. my photos do not do justice to the filth on the floor, & by the time I thought to record the extractor machine it was shutting down (I thought it was going to explode it was so bloody loud. but let's start at the beginning of my disappointment, frustrating time. after I walk in no one is present I have the place to myself (good) I see the 2 xlg capacitywashers (I have lots of blankets to wash) but 1st disappointment one machine was our of order. ok, I can deal. as I reach high over my head & I'm 5x6" & reaching forward to drop umpteen quarters into the machine inevitably a few drop between the two machines. then I turn to their "dbl load" washers. that statement is a laugh. My washer at home is bigger, but whatever, I have to use these right now. I push my cart to the first & notice out of order 2nd one is good 3rd also 4 & 5 nope next row I check the out of orders & fill up the ones that don't say out of order beging putting in my 14 quarters each but 3 of them take 11 & 12 coins but no more I mean the machine in taking them but not counting them & not returning them. so now i have to unload them. Try 3 new ones I go to another aisle & the last two had dam spiders dropping from the door! I almost walked as I abhor spiders. but I deal. im watching the lights in front to tell me when to put the fabric softner into the machine. but it never showed! the was was done! wth? these have to be the fastest washers I've ever seen. but, now washers are done & I started putting stuff in dryers, but they ate still to wet they didn't wring out well on the spin cylce? gee go figure, so I put a couple of blankets in that extractor. on a positive note, I was happily surprised it was only .25 cents, then I thought it was going to explode. The noise was deafening! I was afraid to use it again, so in goes the quarters in the dryer. dryers all work, but word to the wise some get super hot! hot enough if you're not paying attention, it'll burn your clothes. oh and my lost quarters I dropped between the huge machines..I got a broom and was brushing them toward me but there was a hump of soap build up so the coins conveniently slide under the machines on both sides. so I dug out a tool from my truck & got most of my quarters back. * whole chatting with an NMU student, she told me this place has a reputation for taking your money & keeping it. the machines have no numbers on the machines if you call to complain. there is a sign saying under new management...well, new management, you have your work cut out for you & I hope you gix this place up. msny of us grandparents had many fond memories there. now i just wanted to wash my hands every time i touched anything. consider my 36+quarters a donation to get that dump back to its glory. since I have no way to prove your machine took my money. I will not go back there again unless I see from others you fixed it up, CLEANED it up & put in some machines that work . I, for one, wish you the best. & and hopefully, you consider this review a starting point to look back on to see how well you have improved the place. the previous owner needs to be taken to the woodshed for allowing it to go in such disrepair & let the rumors fly on NMU not to go here. shame on 7.99 is a historical place.

Machines are old. 3.50 to 7.00 a load. No air conditioning and it's 93 degrees out. All the games and machines are empty or turned off. Parking is street parking.

Did a load of laundry in your big washer (the one up front next to the one out of order) around 11am. Unfortunately most of my clothing has been ruined by a black residue. I notified the lady who used the washer after me and she said she pulled out black chunks that had the consistency of chalk. I was not aware that this was in the washer before doing my load of laundry. Please see attached photos. *reached out to new owners immediately after this happened. Guy working told me he'd let the owner know and I'd get a call back. Absolutely no response, no care in the world. Glad I could spend $12 for my clothes to get absolutely ruined. Same owners of Kenny's. Skip these places, they don't deserve your money.

Owner was helpful and mentioned he’s been running it about 42 years. He did ask if I was getting coins for the laundry when I was putting a $20 in the change machine, as I imagine it gets frustrating having people come in and get change that could be used for his customers and would require him refilling the change machine more often. He said you could load the washers to the top of the door and it would clean the clothes. I put in a huge upright basket of clothes in it and washed it for $7 in about 29 minutes. There is a water extractor that cost a quarter and greatly reduces water content in clothes and reduces drying time in dryer after water extraction. Dryer was $1 for 30 minutes. It was much faster than doing 5-6 loads at home. A time saver for sure. I see some reviews about old dryers, but there are many new dryers which the owner said cost about $4,000 each.

Prices are definitely reasonable, only issue we have is probably half to 2/3 of the machines didn't work.
