ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND! I went in this morning to see about getting my military dress uniform cleaned for next week and the owner was completely rude. I walked in and greeted him by saying good morning and asking him how his morning had been; he didn’t even respond. He walked straight up to counter and asked what I wanted. I inquired about getting my uniform cleaned and politely asked how soon I could have it back, and he very sharply told me he wasn’t “playing this game with me” and that I needed to “tell him when I needed it by”. I explained I was going to be going out of state 5 days from now and just needed it back by Tuesday morning. He proceeded to complain about them being the only dry cleaning service around the central part of the state and that he has a lot of work to be done. He then told me it could be ready by Tuesday evening at 5:00. I politely told him that I’d be leaving Tuesday morning and needed them done by then. He cut me off stating “No I can’t do that.” I was done with his rudeness and walked out. There’s no reason to treat people like this. I simply came in for a service; I didn’t need the red carpet rolled out for me, but the least he could’ve done was treat me with the same respect I was giving him. Definitely stay away from this place.

I brought in 20 shirts that needed to be dry cleaned. Nothing hard, very simple and I was not pressed for time on when they needed to be completed. An older gentleman was there when I walked in and Instantly had an attitude, threw a fit about the amount of shirts I needed done and didn’t seem to want the business. This guy is flat out unprofessional and I can understand why they only have a 2 star review. Someone should open up another dry cleaners in Kearney, because I’m quite certain this arrogant individual would be put out of business. ZERO STARS!

Hands down one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The staff at Modern Cleaners & Drapery were not just rude—they were outright disrespectful and dismissive. I was treated like an inconvenience rather than a paying customer. No professionalism, no courtesy, and absolutely no accountability. I walked out feeling frustrated and insulted. Save yourself the trouble and take your business somewhere that actually respects its customers. This place doesn’t deserve your time or money.

The main character is very straightforward and I love his honesty. Some may see it as rudeness, but I love that he doesn’t sugar coat anything. He’s my kind of person. If he isn’t 💯 % sure he can do a good job he’ll be sure to tell you! No guessing if something is going to come back poorly cleaned. They do an amazing job. Most of the lower reviews are about his rudeness. But I say go check it out for yourself and be entertained! I walk out of the door chuckling to myself every time! I’m not taking my stuff there for a sweet convo. I’m taking my stuff there to have it cleaned properly. Modern cleaners and drapery… don’t change a thing!

A lot of reviews about the owner and his personality but I've never found him to be rude. He just isn't real social. But I don't come here for customer service and pleasantries. They do a good job on my clothes for a fair price. Only complaint I have is pricing not being shown or at least estimated. Sending that wedding gown out for dry cleaning cost more than the dress itself. Dependable place though.
