Rang for a quote and 3 coats $120. I asked for the pick up and drop off offer in writing on their website. $80 and over offer to pick up and drop off. I was told there’s two sites in Southport but they don’t do that anymore. When I stated it’s in writing on their website website she hung up on me. Appalling phone communication and overpriced!

I’ve used Upton Dry Cleaners a few times and while they do a solid job with cleaning and pressing, I can’t help but feel their pricing structure is overly inflated. They charge based on the brand of your clothing rather than the actual material or complexity of the item—which means you’ll end up paying significantly more for a designer label, even if it’s the exact same fabric and cut as something unbranded.

It’s definitely one of the more expensive dry cleaners around, and while the quality is fine, I don’t believe the pricing is justified. If you’re particular about your garments and don’t mind paying a premium, this might suit you—but for most people, there are more reasonably priced options that do just as good a job.

***Update*** 28.03.24 Was contacted by the business and offered an apology for the poor service and the time it took to respond to my review, a refund of the fee charged, along with a $30 store credit should I want to try them again, with assurance that the team have been managed to bring service up to standard.

I use Upton Dry Cleaners on a regular basis, but this was the first time I needed assistance with the removal of an oil pastel from some cushions. The team apprised me of my options and the risk. With that in mind, I approved the work. I have since picked up the cushions and they look brand new. Highly NOT recommend this dry cleaning shop!!!

I sent two Moncler down coats to this shop in early February, and just pick them up on 29/02/2024.
They have damaged both of them.
For the black one, the zipper head is missing. (The professional way is wrapping the zipper head before washing, but they didn’t do that.)They only provided to search for the zipper for me, and didn’t take any more responsibility.
For the pink one, they have made some dirty mark on my coat, and they didn’t admit they have done it! They said maybe I made the mark myself! For the common sense, if the staff see the mark when she received the coat, she should inform me that there is a chance that the dirty mark may not be removable, and I am 100% sure that this mark is made by them because I already enquired from the professional repair shop and the dirty mark is the machine oil, and they also informed me that there is a tint on the coat, they have to damage the tint to get the mark removed and repair the tint. My appeal is that they paid the repair fee, and to my disappointment they rejected it and only offer to wash the coat again for me. Tell the truth, my coast was damaged in their shop, how can I bring the coat back to them again!
Also, they said they are not responsible for the tint repaired if it happened.
Thanks for reading these, please consider some other shops for your dry cleaning, they are not professional and friendly for the washing procedure and customer service!!!

Despite being greeted by staff who were quick to tell me how quiet it is and they'd like to be busier, it took 1 week to have a suit dry cleaned. The cost was also more then I'd normally pay through others on the coast. Definitely wouldn't recommend this business and probably explains why they're not that busy...

My Name is Robyn, I had my Doona Cover ironed at this Dry Cleaners and they have stained it, it looks like an iron stain.  So I took it back this morning hoping they could fix it or replace it.  However, I spoke to the Manager (sho was very rude), she  blamed me and suggested I spilt coffee or alcohol on  it, I responded by saying "I don't drink Coffee In bed.

I suggested it could have happened with the press, she was very hard to understand, so she had to get an interpreter, however she over spoke both me and the interpreter, and guess what, she just walked off.  How professional!!

Had I read these reviews, I would never had gone there, there are heaps of "BAD REVIEWS" on the website.

The Manager was rude, when she came to the counter, she was yelling and speaking over me, she has just ruined my Sheridan King Size Doona Cover, which cost me $600.00 and offered nothing to assist me.

What are you supposed to do,

First time customer at Gold Coast location. Advised the 2 ladies when dropping off. 5 Mens shirts, 1 slacks, 1 mini dress and some wash and fold (by weight) clerk advised would be "about $100.00 as wash and fold is by scale" Perfect so far. Website provides wash and fold next day, clerk advised would need a week and website needs updating. Fine so far. Picked up today and presented with invoice $177.77 ™cents. I advised what quote was given, and said I didnt care of if it was $20 off, but $77 off at least deserved a call first. (Wash and fold was only $41.00) despite raising my objection, was told repeatedly, like a tape recoridng " the owner makes all decisions regarding pricing, and is rarely here, pay or you do not get the clothes" despite attempting to reason, the chubby lady barked commands like a parrot, and the gentleman with thestrong eastern european accent just kept saying " you cannot negotiate after the job is done" which is not what I was trying to do. Yes, the $177 is far more expensive than it should be, but this is more about professional and courteous standards and a customer focused business model. Business like this should not be rewarded with more business. And yes, quote, although approx was in writing, didnt matter to them. Terrible experience, would not consider using them again, regardless. Lastly I asked the gentleman to call his manager/owner , after the chubby lady said the owner/manager was rarely there, which he did, walked away, chatted on phone, came back and said " nothing we can do, I I just work here and strictly follow orders" the wash and fold was done so poorly, and 2 of thr mens shirts, buttoned up on hangers backwards. The chubby lady in the photo is the rude one with huge additude. Great owners/managers attract great people, seems the opposite side of is true here. Grace your money to a professional, competent business who actually strives to be good. Lastly and easily the most important is the terrible cleaning job. The laundered clothes, which are all generally very high quality garments, whites were grey, and rest looked like a child laundered and folded. NOTHING was wearable as recieved. The cleaned shirts, besides being hung backwards, were clean and pressed. My wifes dress/skirt, same small stain, could not tell it was cleaned at all. Worst cleaning experience.  Cheers
