Very quick service, and kind staff!! I would recommend dry cleaning and tailoring for delicate items! I believe dry cleaning for a blazer was $10, and a wool coat was $20. They also tailored one of my blazers' sleeves for about $20, and they did an excellent job!! I would highly recommend!

I searched around 3-4 different places before coming to A1 dry cleaners for my tailoring needs. Let me save you the time, go here. I had 10 different referee jerseys tailored. They took the time to measure everything and make sure I would be satisfied with the taper before moving forward. They got it right and I couldn’t be more happy with the service I received here!

I was told good things about this place and have been on the hunt for a good dry cleaner in the city for years now. Unfortunately, I have not had the same experience as many of the previous reviews. I have dropped off clothes to be serviced three times and each time the clothes come back with new stains that were not there before. I had a winter coat cleaned that looked the exact same as it did when I dropped it off. I can not speak for their tailoring services which I heard were good but the cleaning it self was subpar. They would be reasonably priced if the service was sufficient. The ladies there are also nice. I probably won't be back though. My hunt for good service continues.

they were super friendly and have extremely fair prices! i got a pair of jeans hemmed and a dress taken in at the sides, and both were done exactly how i wanted. as a student i will admit i was very conscious of prices going in, but the quote they gave me was very fair and honestly cheaper compared to other places i called.

Look my shirt here for a quick press the morning of my wedding, 10/26. It came back with large yellow stains on the front and back that I didn't notice until 30 minutes before I had to be ready. I chose this place because the reviews were good and I thought it wouldn't be a big risk but they screwed up the one thing they had to get right.

Came in on a Wednesday(last min) needed my son pants hemmed for graduation on Friday. I was scared and nervous that they wouldn’t be able to do it but they did it! They actually did it overnight and had it ready the next day by 12 afternoon. Super fast and super nice!

Incredible job on prom dress alterations! The tailor did an amazing job. This was really complicated with the many layers and the dress was about 6 sizes too big. As you can see, it looks beautiful and fits like a glove. My daughter is so happy.

Dropped off a coat to dry clean. No change after dry cleaning. The food stains were there, it does not look clean, maybe pressed. They just took my money, and wasted my time as well.

Today I went to pick up my designer handbag. The owner of company gave me my bag and said they didn’t fix it. Meanwhile, the zipper was fixed and I see an iron mark on the bag, which was never there. I asked him about the iron mark. He wouldn’t even look at the mark and said with a nasty tone “he didn’t do it” and denied that he did that. I showed him again the mark and he didn’t even look at it. The wife denied the mark as well. The owner started yelling at me and told me to “get out”. Here I am trying to just get my bag fixed and support this husband and wife team, after their flood and they have the nerve to deny and verbally abuse a loyal customer. I’ve used this place a few times now for both dry cleaning and alterations. Clothes always come back looking great, and the alterations were done very well. The staff is nice and they usually have everything ready on time. No complaints.

Lucy Cleaners saved me from having to buy a new bridesmaid dress 2 weeks before the wedding! After tripping on the cord to my wax warmer, wax spilled ALL over the back of my dress (yes, as ridiculous as it sounds). I was freaking out, but within a week the dress was ready and was spotless. My fiancée did the drop off and pick up so I did not meet the staff personally, but he said the woman at the front was very sweet and great to work with. I am so thankful for their help!

The lady at the front desk had a thick, hard to understand accent, but she was still nice and repeated herself as many times as I needed her to. She did an amazing job cleaning and sewing patches on to my favorite black wool jacket - it was covered in white powder stains - and when I got it back the patches were elegantly sewn on the sleeves exactly where I asked her to place them, with the thread tightly hugging their edges so it looked like they had always been there, as part of the jacket itself.

The new management here is amazing! I’ve had several pants altered and tailored and they always look great. Owners are very nice and always have my clothes looking fresh. They have the best shop in the area!

Had two suit jackets cleaned and an alteration done. Went to wear one of the suit jackets a week later and realized they had replaced one of the front buttons with a cheap, plastic version that looked nothing like the other, without telling me. Not sure if they knocked it off in the cleaning process or what, but not a good way to do business on their part. I now have to replace both front buttons because of how ridiculous it looks and, needless to say, will not be going back.

Got a multi-layer hem done here for a bridesmaids gown. The hem was done well but the price was $120, which in my opinion is too expensive for the service.

Love this place and they do such a great job with our clothes each and every-time !!

They charged me for cleaning that was not mine (Over $100). When I disputed it, they claimed they had no receipt, but I showed them where the money came out of my checking account.  Been going to them for over 11 years, you would think they would want to resolve this issue.  WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!

UPDATED: Had to file a small claim with the Maryland Attorney General to get my money back. Claim was successful. Have found a new dry cleaner - so far so good!

I have been going here for a few years. After working in dry cleaning for a few years I have always been pretty picky with my dry cleaners. Their prices are good and they are quick and do good work. My husband got his wedding suit altered here and they did a great job. Customer service is fine - not the friendliest but they are not rude.

I don't know about the other reviews but this place is great. I have been going here for a while now and their service is amazing and the prices are very reasonable! I have gotten stains out of my clothes and alterations done here with out any problems. Not to say my skin is very sensitive and this cleaners uses organic materials to clean the clothes. Also my clothes are always ready in a couple of days and they seem to try their best to fulfill my requests.

I used them for their spectacular wash and fold service. They were always timely and the prices are extremely fair. I've moved away but didn't realize just how wonderful and friendly they were until I was forced to use a service in my new neighborhood. The staff is always kind and the service efficient. I would highly recommend them and am am considering trekking the distance to use them again.

I’ve been going here for months because it’s convenient and I work 6 days a week so doing my own laundry is difficult. Every time I take my clothes, the guy at the front has an attitude and is always rude no matter what day of the week it is. Every time I receive my clothes there’s new stains on them that were not there when I dropped my clothes off. I work at a restaurant as a host, I can not be showing up to work with random stain on my clothes. I’ve bought new clothes but the second I bring them to wash, they come back with new stains, at this point I’m paying $40 a week to get my clothes destroyed and let’s not forget the fact that they never smell clean. The photos I added aren’t even of everything. Every single piece of clothing I own now has a stain. Just do yourself a favor don’t go to them

I don't have anything to compare it to and this is the only laundromat I've really used, but I love this place. I mostly use them for their wash and fold service, it's so convenient to leave a heap of dirty clothes in the morning and come back to a clean and well folded set. I've also had a suit dry cleaned here a couple time, there was one time they told me they might not be able to get a smell out of it but when I returned the suit was as fresh smelling and clean as new. They do great work, and I would highly recommend them!

I've been going for years, and up until last month I had had good experiences. This last time I brought in a dress and asked for the bodice to be altered along the waist seam. She refused and said she could not touch that part. I was very confused since there is a clear seam, but I thought to myself that I'm not the professional so what do I know. She ended up taking it in a bunch on the side seams, which was not what I had asked for at all. When I got it back I couldn't close it. I called her and explained, and she refused to fix it or refund it and then hung up on me. I had a friend bring it in anyway (I was out of town), and she agreed to fix it without charging (not sure if it made a difference that he's a man). However, when I got it back, it was sloppily done with tears and loose threads all over the place. The hanging straps were barely holding on by a thread. She also returned it with a big stain on it. My assumption is that she took some scissors and haphazardly snipped the new seams she had made and didn't bother to do anything past that. Still made him wait another week to pick it up. I paid her to damage my dress and keep it for weeks.

This business lost a loyal customer this week. I dropped off my riding jeans on Monday for a zipper repair. Mind you, these are $400 kevlar lined, armored jeans. Putting aside the ridiculous fee of $34 for a simple repair, I was told they'd be ready for pickup by Thursday. Fine.

Well, Thursday comes around and the lady sheepishly tells me the pants aren't ready yet: "Come back Friday, maybe Saturday." She blatantly dismisses my request for a discount to accommodate the inconvenience. I then ask for my pants back so I can take them to a more respectable business, to which she responds "Not here." ????

I then find out my pants are not around the corner at my local neighborhood tailor, but have been shipped off to ANOTHER CITY (Hanover, MD) for repair at another store without my consent?! Absolutely ridiculous! I will never patronize this business again!

Incredibly unprofessional. I've been a customer of Mt. Vernon Cleaners for years and spend well over a 1000 dollars annually on services here. I never write reviews. But this is the second time that I get to Mt Vernon Cleaners well within their business hours and they are closed without any indication why. Posted hours on the door indicate open until 6:30pm during the week. Hours online say open until 6:30pm. I get there on a Monday at 6:10pm: Closed, locked-up, neon sign dark. No note on the door. Please update your business hours! I needed my clothes for a work trip and now I have to figure out something else.

This is the second time this has happened to me. The first time the owner/manager was in her car sitting out front watching me knock and knock until a neighbor pointed out to me that this was the manager in her car and she begrudgingly came to open the shop back up over 20 minutes before they were supposed to close. No apology. No explanation. If the neighbor had not pointed her out, she would have just ignored me. I tried to explain this away as a fluke. But today the same thing happened again. I  saw her car out front and she drove off as I went to knock on the door. What kind of customer service is this? Unbelievable!

they diligently put pieces of tape at every stain and to my great surprise the jacket came back looking brand new!!
