They’re fast and affordable, which I really appreciate. I brought in a wool jacket with a relatively fresh coffee stain and was told they would work on removing it. Unfortunately, the stain was still there when I picked it up and I was told they tried to get it out but it wouldn’t come out. I ended up getting it out myself with a Tide pen, which was a bit disappointing, and I feel like they could have removed it. I only say this because I managed to get the entire stain out with the tide pen, but wanted to follow the care instructions for the jacket which said “dry clean only.” I will still be taking my dry cleaning to them, but just for cleaning and not stain removal.

I feel a friendly atmosphere every time I go. The manager is super nice. He and even the customers help you out if you need to understand how to use the machines. The machines are very clean and efficient. The dryers work well also. Overall, I’m glad it’s in my neighborhood.

Most of my clothes were stolen from there. I believe the staff is doing it. And when i called to complain, the idiot just asked what is your question? I am forced to do my clothes in the bathtub. I called you and sorry where is the profanity? I am never going back there again. I would think you would want to keep customers, not drive them away. It is one of your employees that stole my stuff. Every time she was working my clothes disappeared. Tall red haired girl, she stole over two hundred dollars worth of clothing.

I came in today with my two kids at 7:00 in the morning and left a little after 2:00 pm after taking them outside and crying and crying once inside I have to admit Danielle is such a Earth Angel she not only helped me pull my laundry out of the dryer she helped me fold after her shift and she had a conversation with my kids and saw that I was breaking down. so it was the day you was before having a wonderful. she literally made this the best experience and this is not the first time she has done that but this is just one of those days I have to give credit when it is due cuz I was there for so long with my kids and I was like we were just going to be here forever. Thank you so much for reopening the laundromat where I live is a one load washer and I have been dying to come back.

They’re charging 14.75 for a big load. The place isn’t even clean not to mention there is literal poop outside their building.

This is a great laundromat. Clean and bright. Lots of washers and dryers. Regular size top loading washers, commercial washing machines, 25 lb. 40 lb. and 75 lb. Plenty of dryers in various sizes. Change machines, soap and fabric softener machine. Dry cleaners next door. The machines appear new and are well maintained. The prices are reasonable and the machines are efficient. This is a great place if you have large items such as comforters or, blankets, or pillows. This is one of the best laundromats I have been to. I am not excited about doing laundry, but the atmosphere and experience here helps soften the blow. I highly recommend this establishment. You won't be disappointed.

This is next to the cleaners. They are open 7 days a week  7 to 9  They keep the place decently clean. Yes, there are issues that arise with a machine or two, however, they are quick to resolve issues.

This is my go to Laundromat. Machines always work, it's always clean, and the prices are fine (2.75+ per washer load). Quarter machine also which is great.

Nice place, good people. Only problem is that the machines do not get the clothes clean.
Going with standard double load, warmwater and Tides best. Most places  have bigger newer machines and more wash time.

Largest washers are out of order and disconnected or the unit shows an error code.

Since I need high capacity for this run, I couldn't take care of my needs here, and will not be returning to this location at any point  in the future.

Two stars because one of the patrons was friendly and amicable to answering since questions to confirm that whatever was on the LCD of the 55# machine was an error code.

This location uses quarters only, with a (hopefully operational) change machine.

The hemline was uneven, the fit was off, and to make matters worse, it took nearly a month to get it back. I have yet to take my clothes here for dry cleaning but I have plenty to say about alterations! Elizabeth does all the alterations and did a fantastic job with a bridesmaid’s (chiffon material) dress and pair of jeans. Elizabeth is quick, extremely talented and knowledgeable, and does exactly what is discussed. You don’t have to worry about her surprising you with anything, such as sizing still being too big (or suddenly too small and then being told you gained weight), a seamstress that thinks they know what’s best, someone that decides to take in the sides of a dress when you explicitly told them not to because it fit perfect before then, or work that is just simply subpar. That being said, I wish I found this place last summer as I would have taken my wedding dress here…

Elizabeth and her husband own this business and are the most personable and friendly people ever! They make you feel part of their family and there is never a shortage or smiles and laughter. I don’t know how they do it but somehow your day feels brighter when you leave that place. First off I want to say that this lady (owner) was very rude and didn’t let me wash comfortable. Ever since I walked in she was looking in my washer and was rude . I left my mom alone for her to finish washing and when I came back she told me that one of the washer that she was using it was dirty before I even offer to clean it she started  say that it’s disgusting . So I left her alone because I didn’t want disrespect her . She even was tell another customer and it was embarrassing. I look at other washer and they all have mold around inside . So before talking all this mess please make sure all washer do not have mold ! Never coming back ! We spent 50 plus dollars and dyers sucks! Don’t waste your hard working money here !!!

Price as of 3-4-23.  Uncomplicated mostly top loaders $3 a pop.  Double load side loaders 4.50.  I've not gotten to dry yet it's a quarter a push.  Very clean and friendly.

The owner is so SWEET and helpful. She kept helping me when I had multiple loads going. She helps pull my comforter out and flip it multiple times in the dryer and she always kept a great spirit, even when its so hot outside and inside here. I'll definitely make this my regular spot. They charged me $9 per cotton shirt even though I was quoted $3.50 per shirt by their employee and their location on Hawthorne. They don’t tell you about the price hike before swiping your card. When I questioned him about the price increase he replied “Most of my customers have the money  don’t ask about the prices, so I never have to have this conversation with them!” Mind you, I too “have the $” or the balance wouldn’t be paid. Verify pricing before handing them your card. They don’t have to worry about cheating me ever again

I've been going to both Five Star locations since moving to Portland for their great service, reasonable prices, and friendly staff but the magic they worked on my winter coat has completely blown me away. I've had this heavy down coat for 6 years and it was definitely showing its age when I dropped it off - to the point that I was planning on investing in a new one. I picked it up this week and it hasn't looked or felt this good since the first year I owned it 🤩

My husband just had a bad experience with a lady at the counter a few moments ago. I wouldn’t recommend this place to a person of color. They charge a higher price and I quote “we don’t know you here so there’s an up charge” I’m pretty sure that’s not legal at all to tell a customer or charge a African American customer more because they are a first timer at your establishment. Legal action will be taken.

I’m about 2 months late leaving this review, but I wanted to make sure I got to it. First, a big thanks to Jason for his patience. When you are sensitive to fragrances, it’s hard to find a place to bring something like a big comforter. Mine would not fit in my washer. Jason assured me he has other customers like me and that he could wash it and it wouldn’t smell like detergent. I was skeptical, but sure enough when I picked it up the next day it did not smell like any detergent.

If your primary problem is strong scented detergents, I’d say give this place a shot if you have something big that needs to be washed. Jason used 7th Generation unscented detergent for my comforter.

It’s always a risk when you live with this problem, so even if it didn’t work out, I couldn’t blame it on Jason as he works hard to meet his customers needs. I hope this review is helpful to anyone in the same boat!  Keep up the great work, Jason!

Ordered a white sweater for my wedding rehearsal and opened the box the day before the trip to find that there were several unsightly black streaks on the white wool and—the horror!—a dry clean only garment tag.

Even with a super tight timeline, the folks at Eco Friendly were so kind and understanding and not only managed to remove all the smudges and streaks but even steamed it so it looked brand new! First time customer but I will be back :)

They have always gone above and beyond. Very friendly and remember who I am for drop off and pickup. Once I left a valuable item in a pants pocket. When I picked up the pants, they handed me my item, which they had bagged and set aside for safekeeping.

I took in some custom curtains that were made from recycled Sari dresses from India.  I had 7 pieces. 3'×9' I had not stored them properly. And they smelled of mildew. P.D.C. Did a fantastic job cleaning them. I was charged $80. A fair price. Here are pictures of 4 of the 7 pieces. All clean and beautiful.

Five star cleaners?! Ha! More like 2 star with these prices. $9 to clean one shirt! One shirt! $1.50 at my other cleaner. I won’t be back.

Stellar service. Brought in several garments, one of which is a favorite off-white sports coat that had some noticeable soiling on the sleeve cuffs and bottom edges. Everything was ready as promised with brighter colors and a crisp"almost new" look. I dropped the garments off on a Tuesday, and they were ready on Thursday! Wow! Very friendly, helpful service, and a "neighborhood" business as well. We will be back.

This is the first time I've used 5 star cleaners. My garment was not ready as planned today but im leaving for a 2 week work trip tomorrow and needed the shirt. The owner called personally and did everything he could to finish the job and even delivered it to my house at night. Its not often you experience that level of service and act of kindness. Imperial Cleaners was the first number I called, and they said they could a rush one day service for me. I dropped of the clothes without any expectations and hoped for the best. I called ahead to ask for pricing. Was quoted roughly $30 for what i needed. When I get there, he wants to charge me $43 for one sweater, one cardigan, and a jacket. He said my sweater was a jacket, which is incorrect because a sweater doesn’t have a zipper or buttons, it was a pullover sweater. I decided to go to another location nearby that I had called ahead and had given me more or less the same quote. Guess what? I get there and they only wanna charge me $30 for all 3 items.  Taking my business elsewhere saved me $13 🤷🏽‍♂️

Absolutely awful. DO NOT LET THEM HANDLE YOUR CLOTHES. I gave them 2 suits and a jacket. They lost a pair of pants and all of the clothes I did get back had awkward creases and one of the lappels is ruined.

But hey, at least they only charged me half price for ruining my clothes.

I've been a customer here for as long as I've lived in Portland. Abraham was absolutely amazing, which made sense considering he used to tailor suits for Johnny Carson in LA. I was so grateful to have such a gem of a person and business in my neighborhood!

Unfortunately, things have changed. I don't know if Abraham has retired, but it's been a year or two since I've seen him. I first really noticed his absence when I had a button and a clasp re-sewn on some pants some time ago. I was surprised when I got them home and actually looked at the button, which was technically attached, but literally dangling off. Life was busy then, I considered it a fluke, and didn't make a fuss.

Even more unfortunately, I recently entrusted another minor fix to the seamstress at Abraham's. A zipper on some of my favorite, professional slacks had gone off the rails. I took the pants in to ask if there were some way to just realign the zipper teeth. I was told the zipper would be fixed and paid $25 up front. I was nervous but thought again that maybe the previous bad work was an anomaly.

It was not an anomaly and culminated in shockingly bad experience.

When I went in to pick up the pants, I was sure to take a look while there. Immediately I saw that the stitching below the button was messy and thick. I pointed it out and the seamstress and she said "Oh, I just didn't clean it up." and immediately began hacking at all the threads with shears. There was an exchange where she asked if I wanted her to redo it and I declined.

When I got the pants home and looked closer, I could see that the whole job was shoddy. All the seams throughout the repair are crooked and unsightly. The zipper is a rigid, heavy duty metal zipper which seems inappropriate for the garment. Worst of all when she was recklessly hacking at threads, she actually cut a hole in the fabric of the pants!

I decided to call in. The dry cleaning person answered, and I asked if he was the best person to receive a complaint. Without response he handed the phone to the seamstress. I said hello and that I'd just been there about the zipper and added that she had cut a hole in the fabric. I said I'd like to be refunded at the least, and ideally compensated for the pants.

She said, "The work was done." and hung up on me.

So that's that. Careless, shoddy work. Rude treatment. I will never take any of my clothing there again for any reason and I would not recommend them to anyone else.

Sunny is an exceptional tailor. She is helpful, direct, quick to communicate and very skilled. I had a not so great experience with a tailor who was making my wedding outfit. Sunny fixed the garment and offered some help additions to make it even more beautiful. 5 stars for sure

I brought a satin formal dress here which had stains and was wrinkled. I had called around town at other establishments, but I found Abraham's to be the friendliest over the phone. Sure enough the staff was very professional and friendly in person as well, and they did an excellent job on my dress! It is now free of stain and wrinkles, all for a very fair price. I would certainly come here again for any dry cleaning or alteration needs.

If you're looking for a seamstress look no further!! On top of having a great dry cleaning place, their seamstress is THE BEST! She is consistently reasonably priced, super helpful, kind, timely, and excellent work.  She has helped me fit a dress and then personalize it with ideas I had pictured in my head.  On top of this, I collect Coogi's and other extremely complicated vintage sweaters, and I always come to her to fix the imperfections.  Small to huge holes, burns, raw hems, pulled strings, EVERYTHING is always fixed to make them look new again. I regret not taking pictures of the before's and after's, but seriously they're great!

Be VERY clear about how you want something altered. I asked them to please even put the uneven hem of my midi dress, he asked me how much length I wanted taken off. I said no, I want the hem to be evened out, no length off (as much as possible). He even pinned it to only be about half an inch shorter. The dress I received back was a good 3-4 inches shorter and is now not heavy enough to keep the zipper from puckering oddly in the back. I called to tell them I was unhappy and they tried to argue with me. The workmanship is good, and they've been fine in the past, but I am disappointed in how they handled this situation.

Friendly service. I had a beach wedding so my train was covered in dirt and mud. I finally went to get it cleansed after 4 months and it came back pretty clean! I was pleasantly surprised because I figured it would be tough to get the stains off after 4 months. Highly recommend.

Super experience 33 years ago. Had my wedding dress altered, cleaned, and keepsake boxed. Fast forward to 2015; took in a vintage, very fragile dress one of my daughters wore for prom. It needed desperate detail repair and spot cleaning. Perfection!  And I even had it keepsake boxed because it was never going to be worn again. Fast forward again to a couple of years ago. Took in two family members wedding dresses. One was just filthy from being dragged around all evening during a farm setting reception. Spotless and keepsake boxed. I bought a sample wedding dress from Brides for a Cause and the hem was filthy. I was nervous about getting the dress cleaned before the wedding but Vermont Cleaners did a perfect job. They even repaired the hanger straps free of charge! My dress is a delicate material with lace and webbing and they did it perfectly.

I had a bridesmaid dress altered here. They were helpful and very quick. I tried my dress on a couple days before the wedding and got water spots on it, and I was able to drop it off and have it cleaned in 24 hours. Great service!

We’ve been going to Midway Cleaners for years and even had alterations. Never a problem until now. On Friday 02/16/2024 at around noon. My husband had a two piece suit and 1 pair of suit pants to be cleaned. The woman behind the counter was so rude complaining how the sleeves on the suit jacket were so dirty she doubted she could get them cleaned and said my husband waited too long to bring it in for cleaning. My husband said I’ll just take it somewhere else and she said yes take them somewhere else. We took them to another cleaner where the gentleman behind the counter was very nice and said he would be able to clean them. He said the suit wouldn’t look new but would be clean. So disappointed in Midway Cleaners. They have now lost a former dedicated customer. She could have kindly explained why she felt they couldn’t clean an item instead of rudely disrespecting a customer.

I just had 2 T-shirts shortened. Maybe 20 minutes of work and had to pay $50. I took a close look at them and the stitching is pulling out in 15 spots on both shirts . The thread they use is spider web thin . Absolutely a joke cause I could have cut tge shirts myself and used a $5 tube of fabric glue. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE

I just picked up a large load of 14 shirts and was charged $84. That’s $6 per shirt. This is a big increase that we weren’t told about and since the prices aren’t posted I had no way of knowing. The dry cleaner across the street is $3 per shirt and the quality and service are comparable. I’m going across the street from now on. If you go to midway you need to ask about the prices up front.

Horrible tailoring outcome. Honestly the worst professional stitching I’ve ever experienced. Somehow there’s thread holes all over the place where stitching was not necessary. The comforter and blanket look worse now than when I brought them in. Really regret coming here for tailoring.

Absolutely Horrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs!

We took two suits and my wife’s wedding dress to Ties Dry Cleaners and Laundry, and it was an absolute disaster. They completely ruined the wedding dress, covering it in glue from the decorations, and one of the suits came back with spots all over it that may not even be fixable.

It took them over two months to return the wedding dress after they attempted to clean the glue off, but the dress is now pretty much useless. They tossed the very expensive, custom-made dress in with other clothing, tearing off most of the decorative flowers in the process. We’ll now have to take the suit to another cleaner and just hope it can be salvaged.

The customer service was horrendous. There was no apology, just attitude and blame, saying it was our fault for not informing them that the dress was custom-made. We were promised that the owner would call us to discuss how to resolve the situation, but no one ever did. I had to go in myself to find out what was going on.

I almost never leave reviews, but this experience was beyond unacceptable. If you want to avoid headaches and potential disaster, stay far away from this place.

I really wish I read all of the bad reviews before taking my items to them… they clearly have no business handling vintage or special items. I brought in vintage items that were dry clean only, and some that had staining we were hoping they could get out. But I have gotten them back falling apart, with damage, and stains that weren’t there before. I even asked them about certain stains in person when picking up the items and they shrugged them off... It’s clear to me that they took absolutely no care with these items resulting in ruining them. Mind you they were told they were vintage and we were charged for them being special care items… but there’s holes that appear to be from tumble washing/drying or perhaps they were threw in with clothes that could’ve damaged them. All the items that were brought in were vintage items from the 50’s-90’s, they’re delicate items… all of it should’ve been handled with the utmost care. For example one of the items brought in was a gorgeous 80’s prom dress in near perfect condition minus some water staining and it came back with pieces of it falling apart… a blazer I brought in looks like it’s been shredded same with a blouse that had no holes or damage before.. brought in a vintage suede jacket with no stains that now has severe staining.. they stapled through vintage tags, like the union tags… the tags are very important parts of these items… I find it very strange that some were nicely pinned in and some are stapled... I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. Idk how you could be so negligent. I hope if you’re considering to bring in any vintage or special items to them that you see my review. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH THESE ITEMS!!

I brought in my wedding dress to be professionally cleaned. When I came to pick it up the first time, I was shocked to find that the dress was still dirty, so I refused to take it home. I asked them to clean it properly, but when I returned the second time, it was even worse. Not only was the dress not cleaned properly, but it was also returned to me in pieces, with parts of it taken apart. I am very disappointed with the service, as this is a special dress with great sentimental value, and it was handled carelessly.

Boyfriend brings his shirts here to be dry cleaned.. For $1.00 per shirt it's a heck of a deal. Never a problem with starch levels.. Easy access from Sandy Blvd.. Very friendly.. A Few procedures and requirements have changed due to Covid...

They ruined my $45 white shirt, now I have black spots. I have been using them for very long time, but they recently change owners. New owners now Mexicans and they are very rude, unprofessional. They won’t refund the money and they force me to pay for something they ruined. You can see the picture how it was before and how it is now, but this is just one sample the entire short has many black spots. There response to me is too bad too sad what you get is what you get.

Very professional alterations and good customer service. Got a last-minute alteration for my kid’s martial arts performance uniform on Friday afternoon. The owner understood we needed asap, so worked on it right away. Called me the same night saying it’s ready. Upon my visits, I encountered two employees at the counter: an older lady who displayed exceptional politeness, kindness, and a cheerful demeanor, and a younger lady whose behavior left me perplexed. Friendly staff, but over priced. They charged $24 to hem a pair of pants. I was told the cost was due to the pants being belled (a lot of fabric). Large hem or not, I’ve never paid more the $15 to get any pants hemmed. I was going to drop off a women’s suit at the same transaction and was also quoted an inflated price. I live right around the corner, so I was hopeful they would be reasonable. I’ll be going to my old cleaners across town. Thankfully it’s close to my work.

I switched to Pro Care about a year ago after the location of my job changed. I immediately noticed a difference in the quality of work with my clothes. It was like they were brand-new again. I have also been pleased with the sewing work that has been done. I am always treated well and my clothes are done on time. I highly recommend this cleaner.

This owner is not a nice man unless you are a current customer. I went in to talk to him about his business and was told he is very busy. I asked to schedule an appointment with him and he came out and asked me if I was a customer. I am not. Not yet. I wanted to find out if I wanted to be. He actually told me that if I was not a customer He would not talk to me. I will not be a customer there ever and I would never send anyone of my clients there. I have never been so insulted in my life!

No odor was removed from my garments when I specifically made sure they would be. Part of a clasp on my skirt was torn off when it was fully intact beforehand. Also much more expensive than any other dry cleaner I've ever been to. Nice people, but very disappointed.

I had a small smudge on a suit jacket and called to see if they would be able to clean it in the next 24 hours. The gentleman on the phone was very friendly and told me they could likely dry clean it the same day. I dropped the jacket off and they were able to do a spot treatment rather than dry clean it, which saved time and money. The lady at the counter was very friendly, and the space looked clean and professional. I will be returning for sure.

Very clean little place not too many washers or dryers but not too many people either was able to get in and out very quickly and clothes are super clean I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that needs to go to the laundromat!!

I have used Artistic Dry Cleaners now for several years. The first time I went to them was for a repair on a formal dress, which has held up well. The next time I went was to clean my wedding dress before my wedding. I had purchased a used dress from a local charity shop that had some slight yellowing under the armpits and at the hem. Their price was very, very reasonable and they gave me back an immaculate dress that looked brand new (seriously, it went from a cream shade to a much lighter off-white, it was incredible). The third time I went was AFTER my wedding... and my dress was in bad shape. The wedding was outside and it had rained beforehand, so the bottom two inches of the entire dress and train had mud and grass stains galore. When I dropped it off, they said they would give it their best shot to clean it. Holy moly, did they deliver! They just gave me back a dress with barely a mark on it. I have attached a photo of the dress the day of (it got even dirtier after this photo, we went to take photos in a muddy field) and after it was cleaned by Artistic Dry Cleaners. Truly fantastic. Each time I've been there everyone is so kind and welcoming. Seriously, an amazing spot I plan on continuing to use their services in the years to come.

Have been going there for years. It’s amazing how they can get everything out of every single piece of clothing! Would never go to any other cleaners!

They did a nice job on my shirts and pants and were reasonably priced.  I had a navy blazer which had a small cut in the fabric and I was not impressed with the repair.  I had expected they would open the lining and use a fabric mending process as we discussed, the just used needle and thread and it's pretty obvious now where the repair was done.  I had 18 items including the repair to a tie and jacket for @ 85 dollars.

Nice, reasonably priced, fast turn around!

I have been bringing items to TS for a years now and the last two incidents have soured me on them for good. First, I brought a few pairs of pants in to be hemmed and taken in - it was all over the place. One came back lovely, another with a strange bulge in the back that ruined the pants. Two more weren’t even sewn, and had just been ironed at the seam where they would have taken them in and forgotten. I had to explain over and over again that the pants had not even been altered just to get them to fix them without double charging me.

Finally, I brought in my favorite pair of trousers and some silk tops to be dry cleaned and they lost the entire order. I was in the process of moving at the time and no longer had the ticket with the invoice number, but they had nothing under my name and telephone. They basically said on the phone it would be too much trouble to look through everything, but I could come and go through the rack for them. Absolutely absurd and so sad. Never again.

I called to find out how much drop off wash and dry for bedding (told them blankets, sheets and comforters) and was told $4 a lb. on the phone. So I took them there only to be told that comforters are a set price $35 for light weight comforters and $40 for slightly heavier one. What would have ended up costing me around $40 for two lightweight comforters and a heavier one to be washed and dried (not even dry cleaned), ended up costing $110. And those comforters cost less to buy than the cost of cleaning them. I took the sheets and mattress pads home to wash myself as they would have pushed the cost up to $350.
I recently only paid $25-30 for my wool Pendleton blankets to be dry cleaned at 2 other nearby locations just for comparison.

I’ve been going here for 3 solid years and have been generally satisfied until I dropped off my beautiful wedding dress and an other gown, paid almost $400 and the dress was not clean at all.When I brought it back to ask them to re-clean it, they refused and said they did. Pretty devastating after being a loyal customer but unfortunately will need to find a new dry cleaner here in NW.

Twice this cleaner has damaged expensive items of clothing I have brought here.  The first was an autumn cashmere sweater that was returned to me with a hole in it:  she tried to say it was there when I brought it in.  It was 10000% not.  This last time, With explicit instructions to protect buttons on Akris dress, the button was damaged.  This dry cleaner may be fine for average clothing.  Do not bring your designer garments here.  They still made me pay for my dress even though they damaged it.  The woman “sue” gives every excuse in the book but takes no accountability.
Burned me once it’s on them, took a chance on twice but three times it would be my fault for thinking they are a viable option.  I will not be back.  Fair warning for your investment wardrobe…

I went in as a first time client with a zipper that needed to be replaced on a winter/snowboarding jacket. They were very kind, and did an absolutely incredible job. I am blown away at how good it came out. You would never even know it wasn’t the original.
