I went in there carrying a pair of pants I wanted altered. Because the makeshift changing area was very small, it makes me want to do the same thing somewhere else next time. That was my only experience with this place and the only reason for the two star rating. Sheng Cleaners is located on 46th Street, between 9th and 10th Avenue (closer to 9th). The price charged ($20) was the lowest I found in this area.

Fantastic honest couple. The lady was able to sew back a label on my scarf back to as it was with a reasonable price. The whole experience was made even better when she did it at the spot, and without giving a quote, as I was ready to pay whatever and as soon as we started talking I knew she will be giving a fair price she did. Please go with confidence for all services and tip them generously.

These folks are amazing. Very fast service, effective communication and most importantly a job well done.

Great cleaning and friendly people, but unfortunately not what I hoped for in the area of garment alterations. I had a very nice shirt that ended up with ridiculous looking button placement on the sleeves, because the method used for sleeve shortening does not accommodate gauntlet holes.

It's still a nice shirt as long as I wear a jacket over it but I really wish I had gone somewhere else for this item since this isn't something that can be reversed.

The work they do on my clothes are phenomenal from cleaning to alterations. Always timely and professional. It's a warm friendly environment, plus the effort and care make me feel well assured that this is the right cleaners to take my dry cleaning

So far pick up and deliver services was excellent. They notified you if your drop off is going to be delayed. They are courteous and friendly.

The manager is always pleasant and friendly. I like the location because it's very convenient for me.

I came across Michelle Dry Cleaners while scrolling on IG.  I checked out the work they did on their IG page and decided to give them a try especially since I’ve been looking for a place for alternations.  I needed a place that specialized in Sweet 16 dresses as my daughter had 2 dresses and I had one.  I decided to give them a try and sent a message to the IG page and received a response within the next few hours that allowed me to make an appointment.  They accept walk ins however since I live in the Bronx, I preferred to make an appointment.  When meeting Michelle it felt as though we’ve known her for years.  She’s so welcoming, friendly, professional and has an eye for detail.  I loved that Michelle included us in the alternation process and wasn’t just making decisions herself.  Michelle and her team saved the day. Our dresses came out perfect.  They did such an amazing job that my aunt also decided to get her dressed altered as well. I truly cannot begin to thank Michelle enough! She tailored my wedding dress, bridal lehenga top, and my husband’s sherwani for our wedding in December of 2023 and she did an absolutely fantastic job! She was so patient throughout the whole process and offered multiple trials to make sure that the dress fit me absolutely perfectly before the big day. We had gone to a different tailor for my bridal lehenga and husband’s sherwani before we knew Michelle also tailored Indian clothes- unfortunately, the first tailor messed up our clothing but Michelle saved the day and was able to fix both of them just a few weeks before we had to go to the wedding. She is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met and I’m so grateful she was able to help make us look so beautiful on our special day. The laundry I had used previously closed during the pandemic.  Finding another good one wasn’t easy, but K&M turned out to be the best!!  They pick up, and deliver the laundry the next day, nicely folded, and smelling great!!  And the price is reasonable! What more could anyone want?? I’ve never used them for dry cleaning or alterations, but based on the laundry experience would not hesitate to try them!

Horrible service! They literally didn’t wash my sheets I clearly can see and it doesn’t smell like detergent at all.

Lost my laundry. First said simple mix up, and when the person who got mine returned it, all would be well. 5 days later, they then say they OUTSOURCE the laundry to a third party, and they lost it. Do they have a tracking system? No. Do they have a phone number I can reach them? No. Their response? Give me a few weeks, hopefully it turns up.

Demanding cash. They offered no solutions. Save yourself the headache, much better prices and service less than a block in any direction.

Disappointing experience. When I picked up my laundry, I found my laundry bag torn and a brand-new rug missing. The business only responded after an honest review—rather than addressing the issue, they simply begged for it to be taken down. Needless to say, I won’t be returning. I’d recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Warning post: Damaged my coat

This place might be fine for wash and fold, but I stupidly took a luxury item in for a repair and dry clean.

The item was a Burberry coat, and a precious gift. I wanted to get a freshen up after Winter, and to repair a small hole in the pocket.

They were completely careless with this, and have spoilt the value of the coat. The hole was pea sized and in the pocket - I have no idea what the heck they did to it. When they saw me clock their “work” they panicked and told me to leave it there for free. I wasn’t willing to do this, considering it was already the second time I was returning with the same item. Also note they double charged me.

Exercise caution.

(I took it further down the block to a different tailor, and they were shocked).

I have been using their wash and fold service for years and never had a single issue. They pick up and deliver for free, and are extremely friendly. They even remember my name, which is amazing considering how many customers they have. Couldn’t recommend New Spring Cleaners more highly.

I am a first time client of New Spring Cleaners. They did a fine job of tailoring my work uniform comprised of trousers, a blazer, long and shirt sleeve shirts.

I had a very difficult stain in a pair of dress pants. Todd Layne not only got them the stain out but got them back to me ivery promptly. They were amazing. They talked me through the entire process of what the stain might have been and did a wonderful job of getting it out (which other local upper east side cleaner said was impossible). The staff was honest, super nice and had an incredible amount of cleaning knowledge. I highly recommend Todd Layne Cleaners to anyone looking for a wonderful cleaning experience in NYC.

Todd Layne Cleaners is my favorite cleaners in Manhattan! My Burberry leather jacket was recently damaged from severe rainfall but overall in good condition. Alissa and her team did a phenomenal job at restoring it and fixing the discoloration. I’ve had my jacket for over 12 years now so I’m thrilled that it’s as good as new!

J's Cleaners

Irresponsible. Gave them a pair of brand new $2k pants to DRY CLEAN! and they decide to ham it on their own and charge me a price for hamming. Then they saw they can’t give me a refund, for something I never asked for and for messing up my brand new pair of pants. Ton a previous occasion they lost my other pair of expensive pants. I would not use this place for dry cleaning. Absolutely awful and always overcharging me every time I give them something.

We were on holidays. Dropped clothing off in the morning and they were back with the hotel by 6pm clean and folded. Price was very reasonable. They wash in cold water FYI. Nothing missing, nothing shrunk. Will use again

Great service and quick same day laundry.

We needed to use their service in a pinch on a multi-city trip with a tight timeline and their same day laundry was quick and efficient, with the clothes coming out great.  Delivered by the evening to the hotel concierge.   Much better service and pricing than the exorbitant in-house laundry offered by the hotel.

Highly recommended.  We will be using them again for our next stay in the area.

I don't think I'll ever go back to this miserable laundry again.
- The prices are expensive.
- The employee treats you like you're an employee

The washer did not rinse the clothes so you had to spend more money drying it. The dryer takes a long time and does not dry the clothes. They use it as their own laundry service so there’s not enough dryers and washers to use and they’re constantly taking your stuff out. Unfortunately it’s the convenient location that helps this place stay in business other than that go somewhere else.

Great laundromat. Washed, dried and folded our laundry and returned it to our hotel within 4 hours at a great price. Recommended.

I used to use them all the time, but after a couple of items going missing, I switched to another in the area. I recently tried them again and discovered several of my items had been ruined with chocolate stains. A piece of candy, that wasn’t mine, ended up in my laundry and stained my clothes.

Convenient, well located, early opening time, clean, quality and value laundromat. I went here twice to use both the washer and dryer during my stay in New York. The machines are well maintained, good customer service and well priced! $7 for a triple load washer and $4 for a double load washer. $2 for dryer. Get in early as the machines fill up quickly! And don’t forget the last entry is 8:05pm despite the laundromat closing at 9:30pm.

H2O Laundry & Dry Cleaner

I gave Alberto half my closet 😂 and he did an EXCEPTIONAL JOB!!! 1000/10 !! I was recommended to him from an associate at the Burberry store and I’m glad I listened ! Not only did he clean my jacket and dress so good but he fixed the zipper on my Mackage coat so clean that you can’t even tell it was altered and the zipper is changed. Literally looks exactly how I brought it. He knows his stuff & now has a loyal Brooklyn customer 🙌🏽🥰 Thank you so much !!!

After I posted my original review (see below) the manager reached out to me. He explained that he was on vacation and sincerely apologized for the inconvenience of my items not being properly cleaned as well as the lack of customer service I had received prior to his call. He agreed to refund me for the items that were not properly cleaned and handled that the next day. I've changed my rating from 1 star to 3 star in leiu of the manager's response. Although I expected all my items to have been cleaned and would have liked it done within the time frame expected, I appreciate the manager for issuing the refund and doing his best to help resolve my issue.

Original Review 04.17.25: Unfortunately,I have to leave a 1 star review for this business. My wife and I were in town for 3 days and brought our clothes here to be dry cleaned. Upon receiving my items, I realized that 2 items weren't cleaned at all and one item was a day later than expected leaving my wife concerned that she wouldn't have her jacket before leaving. I called the establishment to receive a refund, they told me to bring the uncleaned items back but I explained that I couldn't because we had a flight to catch. The employee on the phone said they couldn't refund us but told me they would have a manager call me back. The manager never called me back. I called back multiple times but my calls were not answered and it feels like my number has been blocked. I'm dissatisfied with the lack of courtesy and professionalism to at least help me receive the refund for the services that were not properly rendered. Do yourself a favor and use a more reputable and trustworthy laundry service in the area.

Js Cleaners

Unfortunately the tailor here ruined a pair of 100% silk pants. I went in to have an inch taken off the length and asked for the pants to be just past floor length. The tailor, I think her name was Kathy, measured me and put pins in the pants. I went back to pick up the pants and they are way too short… as in, nowhere near touching the ground anymore. It’s clear she just took way more off than she should have. Unfixable as she cut off all the extra silk so now these pants are unwearable. Such a shame as I bought these while traveling and had sentimental value.

When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the lady at the checkout desk, she said there’s nothing they can do and that she’d call me if they change their mind. They haven’t called and I’m not expecting that they will based on the way she handled the situation.

This place is good for basic items that you wouldn’t regret losing. But for any thing with value, I do not recommend taking the risk at this place and you should go somewhere that is higher quality. Wish I got this advice before it was too late with my pants

Atrocious service. J’s used to be my go to cleaners for a year before they became a scam. I had 4 quality issues since December and finally they completely ruined my trench coat which was not even difficult to clean. They haven’t removed dirt stains twice and finally added a ridiculous spill of chemicals over the sleeve which was not even dirty in the first place. Stay as far from J’s as you can unless you want to loose time and money.

I advise the neighborhood to find another local cleaner. I have had a consistently disappointing experience with this dry cleaner. They have repeatedly charged my card incorrectly, adding mysterious $5 fees to every order without explanation. When I brought these discrepancies to their attention, their response was, "That was an accident; we will credit your account." However, those credits never materialize, leaving me to question the integrity of their business practices.

If you value your hard-earned money and expect transparency in transactions, I strongly advise looking elsewhere for your dry cleaning needs.

We are in town for the Edward R Murrow Awards on Monday, 14 October 2024, and thus have a couple of suits and shirts needing cleaning and pressing from travels from LAX to EWR and then in the city to NoMad where we're staying at The James. We went with J's Cleaners for our needs balancing reviews, price, location, turn around time, and customer service and we're incredibly impressed across the board. At least for our experience with two, 2-piece suits and four dress shirts with an overnight rush we came back reasonably well under $100 and got everything back much earlier in the day than originally quoted and were taken great care of by the entire staff which doesn't always happen at a neighborhood joint when you're from out of town, so, thanks to the crew at J's for their stellar assistance and quality work by their in-house staff and the factory that they outsource to / work with. Y'all rock! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Thank you! Definitely, give these folks a shot!

Great Spot for Travelers!
I was visiting NYC and needed to do some laundry—this place was perfect.
1.	There’s an ATM on site.
2.	A machine for getting change.
3.	A detergent vending machine as well.

All of this made my life so much easier. Super convenient, especially if you’re from out of town!

NEVER USE THIS PLACE. I have had to file a report against them and they're under investigation.

Not only did the rude lady LIE when I called ahead and asked if the machines were large enough for a large duvet. The change machine did not give accurate change and they REFUSED to fix the machine or give refund even though it was counted right in front of her. They are thieves!

The machines are small and they stink of mildew. Save your money and effort and 100% skip this place.

They did a great job of cleaning our clothes and we were able to pick them up the same day with only a short 30 minute delay longer than the agreed time. They were life-savers as I had no other clothes for the trip - so thank you very much!

I have NEVER wrote a review before but the treatment that I experienced at New Absolute Laundry was so ATROCIOUS and therefore, I feel the need to warn others about what I experienced. I took a dress and a few dress shirts to get drycleaned on May 1st. The dress had three stains that the lady put stickers next to. I came back a few days later to pick up my items and the dress still had a stain. I pointed it out and the lady sent it back. I returned two other times to the laundromat and my dress was still stained. I started to get frustrated as each time I returned they kept saying that they would tell their off-site dry cleaners to get the stain and that kept not being the case. A week ago I was told my dress was ready for pick up and I went to go get it. When I arrived they said my dress was not ready. I was frustrated and they started SCREAMING at me that I was "dirty" and that I did not tell them about the stains. This turned into a week of me going into the laundromat EVERYDAY to see when the dress was ready and they started refusing to tell me when I could pick up my dress, and screamed at me each time telling me I am a liar and a troublemaker. One time I visited and another customer pointed to a number that I could call to complain. The asian lady that worked there yelled at her and put her hands on her. The customer threatened to call the police. After a month of this, multiple calls and visits, they called me to say my dress was ready. They never once apologized for taking a month to get a stain out but rather put the blame on me and the third party vendor. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, if the owner is reading this, please fire the asian lady and the manager.

Eddy's Laundry & Dry Cleaners

My partner and I have been going to Eddie's for the past three years. I've always considered the service satisfactory until I went to them to replace a zipper on a leather jacket. The jacket was inspected, a price was agreed-upon and I was given a slip. When returning to pay and collect the garment, they told me that they had to move the buttons next to the zipper because there wasn't enough space. I was charged an additional $20. I understand that miscalculations and mistakes happen however I was not called or notified about this added work and charge before hand. This inflation in the price was unreasonable and I should've been notified because I would've canceled the order. I will never be going back to Eddy's because they do not honor there prices. That is no way to do business. I will start going to one of the many other cleaners in the area and I suggest you do the same. They have violated my trust as a customer.

Been using Eddys cleaners for over 30 years they are the best in the neighborhood and have great prices. I know the whole family and are very friendly specially Eddys jr and Chris and of course Heidi the mom. Dad has since retired.

I needed some dry cleaning done in 1 day. Eddy's does in-house dry cleaning. There are only a few places in NYC  that does in-house cleaning anymore. This is one!

Their google maps hours are not correct. I arrived at 830 on Saturday morning and they were closed, leaving me with a sack of laundry to carry around. Making sure your hours are correct shows that you value your customers’ time.

As someone visiting from Canada who needed an impromptu dry cleaning for 2 of my silk dresses, I was absolutely blown by the incredible service that I received from Eddy’s!! Satin and silk garments are particularly finicky to clean and I was extremely apprehensive about where I wanted to get my dresses dry-cleaned, but after having read so many wonderful reviews from Eddy’s - I felt comfortable leaving them in their care and it was 1000% the correct decision. Not only did they expediter my order to get my dresses cleaned in time, but they took incredible care of my silk dresses, which look absolutely brand new!! I absolutely recommend to anyone looking to get their garments dry-cleaned to leave them at this little family-run location, to support this wonderful small business in the neighbourhood that does an incredible job!!!! 5 stars!!!! The Cleaners IO

Went here about a year ago based on reviews. Took in a silk gown and when I came to pick it up they had stapled a tag right into the dress literally ruining it. When I reached out they just apologized and promised they’d never do something like that again. Needless to say I never went back. But now a year later and they have even more all five star reviews so I figured why not try again, it must’ve been a one time bad mistake. I dropped off three pieces. When I came to pick up the clothes they were in a bag tied at the bottom so that the newly cleaned and ironed pieces are now all wrinkled. I pointed it out and the woman just apologized and said to let them know next time not tie up clothes in the bag. When I came home I saw the middle piece wasn’t even properly hung up on the hanger so the top and bottom of piece are all wrinkled and this time a safety  pin was just stuck right into the fabric ruining the piece.
Anyhow, I realize now why there are all these great reviews. They have a sign offering a discount if you give them a five star google review. Maybe they’re good for wash and fold, but if you have nice clothes that you like maybe don’t go there for dry cleaning and definitely don’t trust all these great reviews.

i’d give them a zero if i could, completely ruined an expensive button up shirt. they don’t know how to handle clothes properly and had nothing to say or offer after destroying my shirt.

Best dry cleaner in nyc. I used to take my clothes here when I lived in the neighborhood and I will still make a trip to the ues whenever I need something cleaned. Once I dropped over a cardigan to get cleaned and they stitched a small hole on the collar that I never mentioned at no charge. They are adorable, friendly and do a great job.

No good no good — brought in my comforter to be washed as it was a year old without any stains and it came back with bleach spots. Yes the price was cheap, but it was not worth it. Frustrating since the employee was really friendly - would not recommend. (King comforted $25)

Friendly staff however incredibly inconsistent.   Roommate and I clothing always mixed resulting in incorrect charges.    Delivery has no consistency which is primary need due to handicap.    Very unreliable. Alterations person there 2 hours a week so don’t expect professional consultation with anything.     Not well run

Would give 6 stars if possible. 95% would be based on the honest, friendly, humble, hardworking staff that does an excellent job.

The other 5% for competitive pricing, clean store, good hours and location.

I had alterations done for my jeans, a crochet dress, and a body con silk dress. All the employees are so kind and respectful as well as efficient. Alterations were done timely and not too expensive. They will also update you on your garment’s status via text, and it’s actually read and responded to by a human being. I was impressed with the results and will definitely return. Highly recommend!

Little J's gets one star for having all but destroyed the cushion cover (one of two on my sofa) after doing the work correctly a year ago. Whether it wasn't dried properly or it was in the washer too long, to have properly cleaned both covers and dropped the ball this time would have been understandable had I not been told it was my fault because of wear and tear.

Wear and tear did not add stains to the fabric. Wear and tear don't contribute to perfect condition on each side of the cover where someone sits, and puckered, dimpled, retexured fabric everywhere else.

One star for near outrageous prices for tailoring (two skirts taken in cost $130. One cotton, one linen, both with very thin linings. $65 each).

Zero stars for no integrity, absolute condescension, and denial of responsibility.

I brought a wool winter coat in for cleaning. There was a small tear in the arm seam . The tailor was not present when I came in .  I asked the clerk just to please have it cleaned and I would  have it sewn later .  A week later my coat was delivered my apartment building in a cleaning bag. How nice I thought. They delivered it and must have charged my credit card. A week later I brought in a dress to be cleaned and thanked the clerk for the delivery of my coat. It was then that he told me today my coat hadn’t been  cleaned because of the tear !   . I will go elsewhere !

I had a terrible experience with this establishment. The tailoring was wildly expensive I would’ve just bought another piece of clothing. I wasn’t very satisfied w the quality of cleaning and the smell reeked on supposedly “clean” clothing. Would not come back considering how crazy the rates are and how backwards it is (doesn’t accept Apple Pay either). I think these reviews are by people who get incentive of $10 to post a 5 star review. Don’t be fooled
