I had a very disappointing experience at this cleaner. From the start, there was a serious lack of communication when I dropped off my item, which led to it being cleaned in a way I did not ask for. The price I was quoted at drop-off was also completely different from what I was charged upon collection. If the item couldn’t be cleaned the way I requested due to the care label, that’s completely understandable — but what’s not acceptable is failing to inform me beforehand. The lack of communication, along with inaccurate pricing, shows a basic disregard for transparency and courtesy.

When I tried to explain what happened, I was met with a rude tone, constant interruptions, and deflection of responsibility — I was told things like “that’s not our problem” or “that was the previous worker.” It felt like they weren’t interested in hearing me out at all.

Feedback, even if negative, should help a business improve. Confronting customers over a review is incredibly unprofessional — ironically, the staff even said, “this makes us look unprofessional,” while behaving in exactly that manner. They were more concerned about the bad review than actually solving the problem. I will not be using this place ever again.

Special praise to Jan!  We had ordered a prom dress that arrived with a lot of stains. Also, it needed some alterations. All this with the prom happening soon - it was all so stressful. However, on presenting the dress to Jan with all it's issues, she calmly said she could sort it. The next day she contacted us to say the dress was now ready. She had resolved the stains and made the alterations such that the dress is now perfect! Jan is brilliant and we cannot thank her enough for going that extra mile, sorting out the various issues with the dress so well and so quickly, and skillfully and reassingly defusing a very stressful situation.

I recently had a frustrating experience with Johnson’s Cleaners in Whitchurch Cardiff . They sent my parcel back simply because the delivery driver was a different person. They were the only laundromat open tonight when I was looking for one, but I was so pleasantly surprised. Very clean and well looked after, the owner was so so lovely helping me with all the machines and even coins because I was unfamiliar with them. Would highly recommend

Cardiff was the final stop of our vacation throughout Europe, and we needed a self-serve laundry that takes credit cards as we were out of cash. We found Drift-In by searching online and asking the hotel front desk (Clayton Hotel). You have the option to drop off or stay and do-it-yourself.  Costs in June 2023 were £7 for a large washer and £1 for 8-minute dry. A full load including jeans took £5 to dry with a bit of dampness remaining. They offer detergent pods and dryer sheets for sale, though I don't remember the costs. They have quite enough laundry baskets, but they do not have a table to use when folding your laundry. The vending machine takes coins, but there is a small store next door where we bought water. You never know whom you will meet in a local place like this. I had a great conversation with a local lady about politics, guns in America, poverty in both countries, etc. It was great meeting you! Also, thanks to Anthony, the guy working on that day. I told you I would leave a review! Cheers.

Absolute life savers! My wedding dress managed to get marked by the dress storage bag that was given to me to use when I purchased my dress, it was a noticeable black mark right across the neckline (we think the storage bag zip had some oil on it). My dress could not be dry cleaned due to the material so I wasn't sure if it was possible to get the mark out. The wedding dress specialist at Johnson's hand washed and steamed my dress, and the mark is gone! I wish I had taken before and after photos for this review, but I cannot recommend the service more. With 4 weeks to go until my wedding I would have been totally stuck! Cannot thank the team enough!

Dropped my wedding dress off 4 weeks before seamstress went on holiday. Initially told 2 weeks ended up having my dress nearly 8 weeks.
Went in on the Monday she hadn't started it and told me to come back on the Thursday. Went at 11.30 she had barely done anything to my dress and told me she was waiting for me to come in to see where it needed to go 🙈 we had already discussed this - it was an excuse.
Went back later and she had rushed it all.
The belt was sewn on the side when it was clearly meant to be in the middle. Dress had black finger tip marks on it and train wasnt sewn on how we discussed and was gaping in parts 🙈
The new Zip was faulty that she replaced and she's put a shorter zip meaning I can't step into it now and also made the dress smaller/tighter. Now have 4 weeks before the wedding to find someone to fix her mistakes.
Was given a refund thankfully. But wouldn't recommend.

Have since taken my dress to another seamstress in the area and they were mortified by what she had done to the dress and now has to undo her work and remake the dress in certain parts to cover damage.

Whilst visiting Newport, my old home town, I needed some repair work to a rucksack, which meant a lot to me.  I met with Sharon, and was quickly put at ease in regards to the new lining required.

I collected my rucksack a few days later, and to say it was better than it had ever been, was an understatement.  The attention to detail exercised on the job was evident, amazing stitching, and Sharon had been so careful to match the fabric pattern, even though it wasn’t on day-to-day show.

I really can’t recommend highly enough the repair work undertaken.  I’m so grateful for the help restoring my rucksack, it now got years of life ahead of it.  Thank you so much..!

A bad experience with this place today. I took a pair of curtains to be drycleaned. I showed the man the drycleaning instructions. He took my phone number and said he'd contact me later to quote the price for me to accept or decline.

Later, I received the quote by text and replied to decline as shown in my photo. When I arrived shortly after to collect the curtains (I live around the corner) they were already in a *wet* washing machine cycle! Despite that, for this unrequested service he tried to get me to accept my earlier counteroffer of £35 that I'd made by text for a *dryclean*. He also claimed to have tried to call me to check if I was accepting his quote, which as you can see from my other photo, didn't happen. And even if it did happen, I hadn't accepted his quote at all.

I left, since the curtains were now in the fate of a wet wash, and returned again to (finally) collect them a little later. They were still a little damp from a presumed partial tumble dry. His colleague then suggested I pay £24 for something I hadn't wanted. They agreed there was some confusion on their part but if they had any decency they wouldn't have then tried to charge that. I gave them a generous £10 for their electricity and water, which they accepted with a shameful look on their faces, took the curtains and funnily enough won't be returning.

Really nice couple runs it and they changed my cash to coins and helped me all the way (they could tell I was clueless). £7 a wash ain't bad and it only took 30 minutes. Let me use 2 machines. 10/10 quick and easy 👌

Been coming to this laundrette for a month or so now and it's by far the nicest I've found. The staff are all really friendly and will give all the help you need/leave you to it to read a book if you've got one.  (Generous medium) wash and dry for a tenner, there's a telly to keep you occupied, and comfy sofas. No funny smelling dryers here! Always very pleased with wash, price, and service. :)

Good facilities and staff but why do I have to pay a flat £6 fee for a set drying time? It's a rip off and a waste of energy. I can do my drying elsewhere for £4

My washing machine is broken, so I popped here to get some washing done.  It's £6 for a full load (bigger than a standard washing washing), and a wash only takes 30 minutes.

There were lovely people in there too (staff and customers), and the time just whizzed by, while we chatted!  Would totally recommend this place - it's super clean and friendly :)

It's alright. Paid ~15£ for my laundry to be done (wash, dry and fold) for the next day. I found it a little bit pricey and the clothes didn't smell great (I mean, it was clean, but no softener seemed to had been used).

Note: they advised me to do the laundry myself, since it wasn't too many pieces, and it was going to be unnecessarily expensive. But I didn't have the time to do it myself.

All in all, a good place, reliable.

I brought seven pairs of shorts to OSTA Launderette, Tailoring & Alterations to be shortened for a holiday. The proprietor was a lovely gentleman, he even came back to the shop after closing early to take them in. I marked the desired length with a black permanent marker and was quoted £70 for all seven, which seemed fair. He returned them a day early than quoted, and at first glance, the tailoring looked spot on. But then I noticed: he’d hemmed them just below the black line… leaving a visible, ugly mark on every pair. Yes, I marked them, but I assumed basic common sense would apply and that the mark was a guide, not something I wanted to wear around. Just a few millimetres more and they would have been hidden. Instead, I now have seven ruined pairs of shorts. He even said it was my fault because I put the black mark where they needed shortening and there was nothing wrong with his craftsmanship. His craftsmanship is brilliant, but I seriously question his capacity for common sense. A frustrating and disappointing experience. A tailor that is too good to be true and an experience that beggars belief.

Do not use them for alterations. They ruined my curtains and then accused me of lying as well as pretending that they don’t remember me or the curtains. As you can see from the picture, one panel is clearly longer than the other. Shocking customer service and very unprofessional. The guy who does the alterations unfortunately does not know what he is doing. They wouldn’t even give a receipt when I went in, which was my mistake to not insist. All I wanted was some money back after they cost me a lot of money, ruining my expensive curtains- but in the end all they did was act like they don’t remember me and that I am lying. Absolutely disgusting customer service. There was no gesture of goodwill. Never ever use these people, you will only be disappointed

Yes, I went for the tear in my daughter's coat. The free offer was not given. We agreed 6 pounds. I waited 3 days. Cold in the weather. I didn't like the stitch when I came to buy the product. It was dismantled again and returned to my hand. Do you think this is the right behavior? My time is not that worthless.

My washing machine “blew up”. They open earlier than other laundrettes in cardiff. Clean and pristine place. People who run it are super lovely and were able to give me same day wash dry and fold service. Machine had burnt out and one load of my laundry smelt really bad. They were happy to use my laundry detergent. Everything smells amazing and is bone dry and was neatly folded and put in lovely bags. They also do dry cleaning and key cutting! Highly recommend this establishment. Very professional. Will definitely use them again.

I was not informed on collection of my dress that they had burned the mesh material at the forefront of my dress completely away during cleaning. Instead I was left to take the dress home and find out for myself. I was horrified and obviously upset.
They attempted to repair it, I tried to collect the dress on 3 occasions during the course of the day. The poor attempt at repair has left the dress completely butchered. Incorrect mesh colour used, gaping - therefore the fit is now effect even worse the mesh has been stitched (with the incorrect colour stitch) on the outside of the dress, leaving the material damaged and altering the look.
They have refused to refund me at least the cost of the cleaning. Although offered to clean the dress on a second occasion for free which I have obviously declined.
I am now left with an expensive designer wedding dress that has been permanently damaged and will likely be costly to get professionally repaired.
If they were incompetent to repair the dress honesty would have been appreciated and them offering the cost of the professional repair would have been acceptable.

As a laundrette virgins, it turns out to be a pretty easy experience... the staff member was very helpful, especially as we didn't have a clue. It cost £5 for a small load machine, or £6.60 for a larger washing machine, and an hour to complete washing. Then it's £1 per 10 minutes in the tumble dryer, which could have done with a little longer in the dryer, but that was our fault. Bare in mind that they only take cash, but they, they will give you change.

You need to say you are closed on a Monday.  Sign in window says you are open 7 days week 10 - 3pm.  Stood outside for ages waiting for you to open.  Had to go elsewhere.

Best laundry service not just in South Wales but in the whole of the South West! Superb service, friendly, efficient and helpful.
