Bells Launderette

Very unhelpful staff. Won't allow you to solely use the dryers. Was told they are only for customers who use both washers & dryers. I offered to pay for both services but only use the dryers and wasn't allowed as it 'wasn't fair'. There were more than half of the machines available with nobody using them. Very strange to be turned away and not something I've ever heard of or experienced in any other laundrette.

Washed all my clothes and took them to the launderette to dry as my heating wasnt working the place was empty the very unhelpful staff told me i wasn’t allowed to use the drier unless i washed my clothes there first because apparently u cant dry your clothes at the launderette anymore. Is that not the entire point of its existence. Went to a different one didn't have any problems at all.

Used to be modern warm cosy launderette. Know looks tired and run down but still has enough machines if you go in at right time, just happened to be busy when we were there. There are 4 normal sized machines at £6 (30 min wash), only 1 larger machine (1 has been removed and not replaced) at £8, and 3 large capacity machines at £10 (40 minute wash). There are 5 dryers and 3 extra large dryers, all machines are 20p to start but they take 50p/£1 coins from then. Takes £2 for 20 mins and that was enough to dry a double duvet. Place looked messy as there were a lot of service washes waiting to be done. Service person was helpful with change and detergent if required.

Excellent laundromat! Came in to do some washing and drying while travelling Scotland from New Zealand. Man and women running the laundromat were super lovely and helpful. I had cash and they swapped it for coins for the machines for me. Paid 8 pound for a slightly bigger wash and 2 or 3 pound for the dryer was plenty. Wash took about 35 mins and dryer about 45 mins. The detergent for the wash also automatically goes in the machine so didn’t need to worry about buying some which is great when you’re travelling. Lovely man offered me a tea and biscuit while I waited for laundry. Will be back again if need to do another load of washing.

Never been in a Laundrette for many years. Lady working in shop was excellent, friendly and explained everything about machines and anything asked.
