I got a Tom Borwne short-sleeved knit dry-cleaned at Plaza cleaner. The knit has been a month since I got it for my birthday.
As you can see from the first picture, it was a new product, but the patch was stained like that, and the fourth line of the arm was also stained, so I asked them redone it.
They returned it to me after dry cleaning again, and when I checked it, they just exchanged the patch for another one like the 2nd picture and the arm part is still unresolved.
I complained to them about this, and they told me that the patch is genuine and that it doesn't matter if I just wear it. When I asked for compensation, they continued to react in a way that they were not at fault. Their communication method and customer service seem to be the worst.

If you are going to dry-clean expensive clothes, please read my review and judge it well.

I was looking for a decent laundromat in Astoria or LIC as I wear linens and wools quite a lot throughout the year. I found this place on a google search- there was a 50% off promotion going on, their website was clean, and also I liked their delivery service so decided to give it a shot. Because it was my first time, for me it was not clear how to leave my stuff at the lobby (wish there were a step by step guideline for the first-timers) so I had to ask them. Also I think they should get us the total price first before making the payment even though the prices are mentioned on the website. It took couple days longer than I thought but service in general was good. I had a lot of items dry cleaned and they were packaged really nicely when dropped at my apartment. I think I’ll use them again next time. (Please do more promos!)

Excellent dry cleaners with even better service.  I used to use a cleaner right
across from the townhouse I lived in.  Decided to try Plaza Cleaners because they were organic.  Extremely happy with the change.  Even though I have moved a bit further into LIC, they come to pick up my dry cleaning every Saturday, without fail, as pre-scheduled.  If there's anything ever wrong with my items (for example, an ink stain on the shirt) they text me a picture and ask if I would like further treatment.  They catch tears, buttons missing, etc. and always fix the problem, usually with no extra charge.  Could not be more pleased.

Convenient, expensive and very poor job. I come in with about 50-150 of dry cleaning at least once a month and I always got my clothes back with stains. The first few times I just got them out myself, then I actually mentioned something to one of the gentlemen there that completely ignored me and changed the topic. Another time I brought it in for a re-do becuase enough is enough and here I am again washing stains off myself. They clearly don’t check the clothes for stains. Will be taking my business elsewhere. Convenience is not enough.

First time using Plaza, best dry cleaner I’ve ever experienced. Dropped off a couple pieces that seemed beyond cleaning; white, delicate, intricate, lace covered in makeup and spray tan, came back PURE WHITE, I honestly couldn’t even believe it. Also had a vintage velvet blazer cleaned and buttons fixed, they stitched all the little tears which I didn’t ask them to do but it so appreciated. Excellent service, everything looks brand new. I’m so pleased.

Tried to overcharge me significantly, I felt like he was taking me for a fool.

The buttons of my jacket are weak.
They asked me for $8 / button =  $40 to fix 5 buttons 🤨
I politely walked out and won’t come back.

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for years and have supported Dream Cleaners over many others in the area, but unfortunately, their customer service has taken a serious downturn. I brought in my winter heavy coat with fur/and clearly explained—multiple times—that my primary concern was removing a specific smell, not a stain. I specifically asked that they avoid the fur and focus only around the arms. THEY themselves  suggested SPOT cleaning and assured me they could take care of it.

Weeks went by. When I finally picked up the coat, the odor was still there. I returned it, hoping they’d try again—but the second time, they called to tell me that the factory owner said he cannot remove the smell unless I dry cleaning the whole jacket but that the fur will be ruined. To make matters worse, the staff member on duty at 4:30 PM on Friday 5/23 instead of quietly taking care of the return decided to poke a comment at me like last time - and not only refused to acknowledge their mistake but also doubled down and told me I should have known that spot cleaning doesn’t remove smells. It was incredibly condescending and unprofessional. Acting as if as a customer I should know and be informed of professional dry cleaning services. It is the job of the professionals to guide the customer based on what they are seeking.

Even the owner had admitted I had been misinformed by a staff member and gave me a refund—three weeks after dropping off the coat. I had deliberately chosen Dream Cleaners over other shops, including ones that specialize in leather, because I wanted to support a local business. I told them that. But they’ve become dismissive and unappreciative of loyal customers.

The employee I dealt with on Friday 5/23/25 has a consistently defensive attitude and makes customers feel like they’re at fault.

On this visit, I actually felt bullied—and that’s not a word I use lightly. I’m deeply disappointed in how this business now treats the very people who try to support it. I won’t be coming back.

Don’t get alterations there!! Especially if it’s clothes you really like. I brought 4 pants to get altered. As we agreed she took about an inch off at the back of the waist. But she did a horrible job! The sewing lines were extremely crooked. It even damaged one of the pants because the needle wholes left marks on the fabric. I asked her to fix the lines, which made it slightly better but still not up to par at all. The photos show after she “fixed” them the second time around. One of the pants had the tag was ripped off on one side even if the alterations had nothing to do with the waist (she didn’t sew it back). After I insisted, they ended up taking off $20 from my bill (which was quite expensive to begin with). I’m extremely disappointed by the sloppy work and will definitely not get alterations done there anymore.

Got a dress for a wedding hemmed here! I was quoted $75, way better than the $175 a different tailor wanted to charge me. Tailor was super nice and had the dress done in a week!

Exceptional service. Everyone that works here is so friendly and attentive to detail. Been going here for almost 2 years on a weekly basis. Everything is done in a timely manner (24 hour wash n fold, 2-3 days for dry cleaning) and i’ve never had any issues with my clothes. Genuinely confused by the 1 star reviews. Would recommend this spot to anyone!
