I’m about 2 months late leaving this review, but I wanted to make sure I got to it. First, a big thanks to Jason for his patience. When you are sensitive to fragrances, it’s hard to find a place to bring something like a big comforter. Mine would not fit in my washer. Jason assured me he has other customers like me and that he could wash it and it wouldn’t smell like detergent. I was skeptical, but sure enough when I picked it up the next day it did not smell like any detergent.

If your primary problem is strong scented detergents, I’d say give this place a shot if you have something big that needs to be washed. Jason used 7th Generation unscented detergent for my comforter.

It’s always a risk when you live with this problem, so even if it didn’t work out, I couldn’t blame it on Jason as he works hard to meet his customers needs. I hope this review is helpful to anyone in the same boat!  Keep up the great work, Jason!

I've been a customer here for as long as I've lived in Portland. Abraham was absolutely amazing, which made sense considering he used to tailor suits for Johnny Carson in LA. I was so grateful to have such a gem of a person and business in my neighborhood!

Unfortunately, things have changed. I don't know if Abraham has retired, but it's been a year or two since I've seen him. I first really noticed his absence when I had a button and a clasp re-sewn on some pants some time ago. I was surprised when I got them home and actually looked at the button, which was technically attached, but literally dangling off. Life was busy then, I considered it a fluke, and didn't make a fuss.

Even more unfortunately, I recently entrusted another minor fix to the seamstress at Abraham's. A zipper on some of my favorite, professional slacks had gone off the rails. I took the pants in to ask if there were some way to just realign the zipper teeth. I was told the zipper would be fixed and paid $25 up front. I was nervous but thought again that maybe the previous bad work was an anomaly.

It was not an anomaly and culminated in shockingly bad experience.

When I went in to pick up the pants, I was sure to take a look while there. Immediately I saw that the stitching below the button was messy and thick. I pointed it out and the seamstress and she said "Oh, I just didn't clean it up." and immediately began hacking at all the threads with shears. There was an exchange where she asked if I wanted her to redo it and I declined.

When I got the pants home and looked closer, I could see that the whole job was shoddy. All the seams throughout the repair are crooked and unsightly. The zipper is a rigid, heavy duty metal zipper which seems inappropriate for the garment. Worst of all when she was recklessly hacking at threads, she actually cut a hole in the fabric of the pants!

I decided to call in. The dry cleaning person answered, and I asked if he was the best person to receive a complaint. Without response he handed the phone to the seamstress. I said hello and that I'd just been there about the zipper and added that she had cut a hole in the fabric. I said I'd like to be refunded at the least, and ideally compensated for the pants.

She said, "The work was done." and hung up on me.

So that's that. Careless, shoddy work. Rude treatment. I will never take any of my clothing there again for any reason and I would not recommend them to anyone else.

Sunny is an exceptional tailor. She is helpful, direct, quick to communicate and very skilled. I had a not so great experience with a tailor who was making my wedding outfit. Sunny fixed the garment and offered some help additions to make it even more beautiful. 5 stars for sure

I brought a satin formal dress here which had stains and was wrinkled. I had called around town at other establishments, but I found Abraham's to be the friendliest over the phone. Sure enough the staff was very professional and friendly in person as well, and they did an excellent job on my dress! It is now free of stain and wrinkles, all for a very fair price. I would certainly come here again for any dry cleaning or alteration needs.

If you're looking for a seamstress look no further!! On top of having a great dry cleaning place, their seamstress is THE BEST! She is consistently reasonably priced, super helpful, kind, timely, and excellent work.  She has helped me fit a dress and then personalize it with ideas I had pictured in my head.  On top of this, I collect Coogi's and other extremely complicated vintage sweaters, and I always come to her to fix the imperfections.  Small to huge holes, burns, raw hems, pulled strings, EVERYTHING is always fixed to make them look new again. I regret not taking pictures of the before's and after's, but seriously they're great!

This place is the best for alterations! I have had a wedding guest dress and a pair of pants altered here, and both times my experience has been wonderful. The people here are very nice and do a great job, all for a fair price. I definitely recommend!

Horrible tailoring outcome. Honestly the worst professional stitching I’ve ever experienced. Somehow there’s thread holes all over the place where stitching was not necessary. The comforter and blanket look worse now than when I brought them in. Really regret coming here for tailoring.

Absolutely Horrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs!

We took two suits and my wife’s wedding dress to Ties Dry Cleaners and Laundry, and it was an absolute disaster. They completely ruined the wedding dress, covering it in glue from the decorations, and one of the suits came back with spots all over it that may not even be fixable.

It took them over two months to return the wedding dress after they attempted to clean the glue off, but the dress is now pretty much useless. They tossed the very expensive, custom-made dress in with other clothing, tearing off most of the decorative flowers in the process. We’ll now have to take the suit to another cleaner and just hope it can be salvaged.

The customer service was horrendous. There was no apology, just attitude and blame, saying it was our fault for not informing them that the dress was custom-made. We were promised that the owner would call us to discuss how to resolve the situation, but no one ever did. I had to go in myself to find out what was going on.

I almost never leave reviews, but this experience was beyond unacceptable. If you want to avoid headaches and potential disaster, stay far away from this place.

I really wish I read all of the bad reviews before taking my items to them… they clearly have no business handling vintage or special items. I brought in vintage items that were dry clean only, and some that had staining we were hoping they could get out. But I have gotten them back falling apart, with damage, and stains that weren’t there before. I even asked them about certain stains in person when picking up the items and they shrugged them off... It’s clear to me that they took absolutely no care with these items resulting in ruining them. Mind you they were told they were vintage and we were charged for them being special care items… but there’s holes that appear to be from tumble washing/drying or perhaps they were threw in with clothes that could’ve damaged them. All the items that were brought in were vintage items from the 50’s-90’s, they’re delicate items… all of it should’ve been handled with the utmost care. For example one of the items brought in was a gorgeous 80’s prom dress in near perfect condition minus some water staining and it came back with pieces of it falling apart… a blazer I brought in looks like it’s been shredded same with a blouse that had no holes or damage before.. brought in a vintage suede jacket with no stains that now has severe staining.. they stapled through vintage tags, like the union tags… the tags are very important parts of these items… I find it very strange that some were nicely pinned in and some are stapled... I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. Idk how you could be so negligent. I hope if you’re considering to bring in any vintage or special items to them that you see my review. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH THESE ITEMS!!

I brought in my wedding dress to be professionally cleaned. When I came to pick it up the first time, I was shocked to find that the dress was still dirty, so I refused to take it home. I asked them to clean it properly, but when I returned the second time, it was even worse. Not only was the dress not cleaned properly, but it was also returned to me in pieces, with parts of it taken apart. I am very disappointed with the service, as this is a special dress with great sentimental value, and it was handled carelessly.

Boyfriend brings his shirts here to be dry cleaned.. For $1.00 per shirt it's a heck of a deal. Never a problem with starch levels.. Easy access from Sandy Blvd.. Very friendly.. A Few procedures and requirements have changed due to Covid...
But still great service for a fantastic price.

They always remember me even though I only go a few times a year. Always friendly and professional. Shirts cleaned and alterations done quickly and well. I have never had any issue with their service.

Have been going here for years and used to be good. Then they ruined 2 silk shirts and ( I think) hid them in between my other items at pick up. There was no tag that they usually use to indicate that a stain couldn’t be resolved. So I think I paid to have two expensive blouses ruined! Will not use them again.

This is the only place I will take my things - I have many delicate and vintage items and can always trust they will communicate with me and take excellent care of them. I moved away and made the mistake of going to another dry cleaner and was quickly disappointed. The prices here are very fair and service is always great.

This place does a great job with dry cleaning and alterations. Loved their service for almost a year. Up until recently...I found their customer service is not so great. They displaced a shirt, custom-made and monogrammed, two months ago (my boyfriend is 6'7" and shirts are costly and have to be customized). Somehow the shirt was included in another ticket so I was asked to wait a few weeks to see if a customer will return it. This did not happen. I've been waiting for the "owner" (if this person exists) to call regarding replacing/compensation and every week I'm told I will get a call 'this week'. It's been 8 weeks. I asked for contact information of the owner but they refuse.

I'm not sure what my next move will be but I am deeply disappointed. Such a great location, nice service, very sweet lady at counter who looks scared every time I ask about the status of the shirt.

I hope no other customers have to experience the loss of a garment. You are so SOL.

Double check prices before you leave your clothing to be laundered or cleaned. The laundry I had been using closed because someone shot out the front door. Looking tor a convenient laundry, dropped somethings off, failed to double check the price and had massive sticker shock when i picked up the goods: 300% the price anywhere else I have ever used. Never again. I drove to a cleaners five minutes further away, and the prices are rational. I would not us Willamette on a bet.
