Can’t recommend Giffnock Dry Cleaners enough. Matin managed to get all of the dirt and fake tan mess out of my wedding dress and has left it sparkling. I thought it was a goner! Jim is a very kind man and was very good with taking me through the aftercare, he even helped me to my car to get the dress as flat as possible. My brother and sister in law recently flew in from Australia to get married, on arrival we notice that the wedding dress (not a traditional wedding dress) had picked up a stain. We dropped it in here in a bit of a panic and they couldn't have been more helpful. The dress came back sparkling clean and very quickly. We were delighted. We were even more delighted when we had to put in a dress, jacket and trousers that all got damaged at the day ceremony on the Tuesday and we needed them back for the evening reception on the Friday and they managed to turn it around for us. Care label recommended restricted spot cleaning only, but Jim has managed to work some magic on it and the dress looks brand new!  Staff are friendly and personable and very helpful. Used for two washes (no drying). Pleasant staff and all clothes done and even folded within the advised time. Everything came back fine. A tad expensive compared to washing in your own machine but great for those times when that is broken / plumbing problem.

Give them your ironing at your peril. I will certainly not be back. Two previously good shirts ruined .  One -  collar badly marked all over, back and front (damage not stains), second shirt had what appeared to be a large scorch mark.  Owner refused to take any responsibility.  Very disappointing.

I picked up my dry cleaning earlier today - such an amazing service, all my knitwear and coats look good as new! I’ve been nervous to try dry cleaners, due to bad experiences in the past, but I will definitely be going to Shawlands Laundry from now on! The very lovely man who served me helped me load my dry cleaning into my car. So excited to have my beautifully laundered clothes, just in time for my trip to Paris!

I used this launderette for the first time and feel incredibly misled on price. As my washing machine is being replaced, I needed a load of tees and underwear to be washed. I went in here ahead of time and asked about price. I was told an IKEA bag’s worth of clothes was £14. That sounded like a good deal to me, so I went home and brought that volume of clothes. But when I came back to pick them up a few days later I was told the price was now £30. Neither the person on the til nor the person in back explained how they came to the new, more-than-double price. They told me it was a judgment call on the time it takes, and nothing to do with volume, which contradicts what they said initially. Feel like I was ripped off to be honest.

Edit in response to Shawlands Laundry’s reply. Thank you for the apology but you seem to be blaming me for the mixup. I came in specifically to ask about your laundry service prices because you don’t have prices online or on display in the shop as far as I can tell, and your staff specifically said an IKEA-sized bag was £14, that’s why I brought that specific size. And if there was a translation mixup, again, I don’t think you can blame that on me. Your staff only mentioned drying time after the fact, but the bag had pants, socks and t-shirts, in my experience at home quick-drying items, so I still don’t understand how you came to that top-level price. I find most other services give you a rough idea of cost upfront, or charge by weight, number of loads, number of items etc. By obfuscating the cost you’re misleading people.

I had an absolutely terrible experience with this dry cleaning business. I brought in a set of clothes, including some delicate items, and when I picked them up, they were ruined. The worst part? They claimed that ink from one of the items bled onto my other clothes, but instead of taking responsibility, they said it was *my* fault. No apology, no offer of compensation—just a pathetic, "Sorry, not our fault." It's incredibly frustrating to be treated this way when you're the one who ends up with ruined clothes. Stay far away from this place unless you want your clothes destroyed and your money wasted.

Great service. My washing machine’s faulty and I got bed linen and towels service dried and folded for £10 ready to collect in less than 2 hours on a Saturday which is great value and service I think. Very helpful advice too, regarding what could be wrong with my washing machine!

Extremely poor service. Requested to have my jacket sleeves taken up by 3 inches, didn’t alter material just turned up sleeves and poorly sewed them to the inner material. Stitching came away on the second wear (!) see picture. Returned item and was refused a refund and offered to ‘double stitch’ ? Surely should have been done properly the first time. Just took my jacket elsewhere and the owner of the second alterations shop said the jacket was taken up 2.5 inches on one side and 3 on the other (so was uneven - I didn’t measure it but assumed it would be correct!). I would avoid this establishment for any alterations, very poor service. Paid £17 and was refused refund so I had to pay £20 somewhere else to have job done properly.

My wife will Definitely not use them again… very poor work… she wanted the hem taken up on her dress it was an absolute mess, they didn’t even overlock it, she was told they don’t overlock… who cuts a hem and not overlock 🥹 they tried to iron out the mess and instead they ironed out all the pleats, they tried to fixed it but some of the stitching hole runs up the dress where they took stitching out 🤬 and the woman had the cheek to say “ if you are not happy, go somewhere else” what kind of service is that… one ruined dress .. stick to pressing leave the repairs to someone that knows what they are doing

Recently got a zip repaired here after a recommendation. Was not disappointed. My jacket was repaired quick & for a great price. Will definitely be back.

I use Hot Off The Press for my regular dry cleaning as well as for occasion dresses. The results are always great with really reasonable prices. Excellent customer service from this local family business! 10/10 would recommend.

Similar to other reviews posted on here, the male front desk adviser falls short on his customer service skills and thinks it's acceptable to fabricate the truth in order to get themselves out of a situation that they created. I would have been accepting of someone who holds their hands up and says they've made a mistake.
What makes my experience worse is that I was overcharged for my garment and it's only marginally cleaner than when it went into the shop.
I definitely won't be back.

VERY friendly woman behind the counter! She was very helpful! Sized up my wash, gave me my ticket, and gave me the options for pick up.
Went about my day and came back later to pick up nice clean dry folded laundry.

The place is alright to get your wash done, but the washer is confusing and doesn't spin very much. My clothes were still very heavy with water when they were done washing so it took 2 dryer cycles to get it all dry.

Brilliant! I went there to use a washing machine and tumble dryer for my duvet and the women at the front desk were very nice and helpful, showing me how to use the machines. The dryer was really powerful and the duvet was dry in 18 minutes. Overall, only took 1 hour to wash and dry it!

Was in today and I had a lot of washing; I did not realise the last washing is done two hours before they close as I was in just a little after, the lady still let me do all my washing and was very helpful! Very unhelpful staff. Won't allow you to solely use the dryers.
Was told they are only for customers who use both washers & dryers. I offered to pay for both services but only use the dryers and wasn't allowed as it 'wasn't fair'. There were more than half of the machines available with nobody using them.
Very strange to be turned away and not something I've ever heard of or experienced in any other laundrette.

Washed all my clothes and took them to the launderette to dry as my heating wasnt working the place was empty the very unhelpful staff told me i wasn’t allowed to use the drier unless i washed my clothes there first because apparently u cant dry your clothes at the launderette anymore. Is that not the entire point of its existence. Went to a different one didn't have any problems at all.

Used to be modern warm cosy launderette. Know looks tired and run down but still has enough machines if you go in at right time, just happened to be busy when we were there.
There are 4 normal sized machines at £6 (30 min wash), only 1 larger machine  (1 has been removed and not replaced) at £8, and 3 large capacity machines at £10 (40 minute wash).
There are 5 dryers and 3 extra large dryers, all machines are 20p to start but they take 50p/£1 coins from then. Takes £2 for 20 mins and that was enough to dry a double duvet.
Place looked messy as there were a lot of service washes waiting to be done.
Service person was helpful with change and detergent if required.

Excellent laundromat! Came in to do some washing and drying while travelling Scotland from New Zealand. Man and women running the laundromat were super lovely and helpful. I had cash and they swapped it for coins for the machines for me. Paid 8 pound for a slightly bigger wash and 2 or 3 pound for the dryer was plenty. Wash took about 35 mins and dryer about 45 mins. The detergent for the wash also automatically goes in the machine so didn’t need to worry about buying some which is great when you’re travelling. Lovely man offered me a tea and biscuit while I waited for laundry. Will be back again if need to do another load of washing.

Never been in a Laundrette for many years. Lady working in shop was excellent, friendly and explained everything about machines and anything asked.
