When my bridesmaid dress came in and I did not love the fit I brought my dress into Hattan Cleaners to see the tailor Modou. He was able to see my vision of turning the complete wrap around dress into something that fit me like a glove and I did not have to worry about the dress unraveling while dancing the night away. Mo closed up the whole inside of my dress and even redid the bow so it still kept its original design without the hassle of the bow keeping the whole dress closed. He is truly talented and a diamond in the rough in a city with tailors all around. I cannot wait to work with him again in the future and could not recommend him enough! Additionally, the customer service is incredible and the turn around time is quick! + they delivered it right to my door

I took a romper in on the 18th to be picked up by the end of day for the 21st . They told me it was ready BUT that was a lie - No alterations were done. They give me back the same thing and when I asked why the stitching looked the same the African American guy told be his work is that good .
However I went  to Rome for my birthday vacation and I had to wear something else. I feel cheated and I want to leave this review so they can improve by doing what they were paid to do . If they needed more time they should have told me it’s not complete instead of lying to me knowing they were fully paid

My last review was 3 stars and unfortunately instead of pinning through the fabric, they have started STAPLING through fabric. When I called, they made lame excuses saying it’s just for the tag. My husband’s shirts are never stapled or pinned through. Do not bring women’s clothing here unless you want them punctured through with pins and staples. They don’t know what they’re doing.

We had been on a 2 weeks break to Cancun and Havana and needed clothes washed and folded! Handed over a suitcase full of clothes (32Ibs)  at 11am and all washed and neatly folded by 5:30pm the same day! Clothes smell fresh and super clean! Highly recommend this place! Great service!

I try to save money and time when it comes to dry cleaning, so it's nice that this place is cheaper then most places in NYC. In addition, there was a quick turn around.

I do have a very nice dark blue suit (Z Zegna - $1000+) that I try to take care of every year. The suit was cleaned without issues and returned in a timely manner (same day or a 1-3 depending on traffic). In addition I had some dirty white stains as seen on the photos that were entirely removed.

I left a coat that had a significant stain,  my fault a household product exploded in my suitcase over my travels containing a small amount of bleach therefor left a stain on the coat he promised he would do the best but told me the stain might  not come out completely and when I went there i had to remind him of the stain  but the guy was very quick and dismissive and quite honestly unfriendly after all I had to reexplain to him and told him wanted to check it out then and there and realized that indeed the stain hadn't come out completely !
I feel he just charged or should I say over charged me for a coat that maybe didn't even tried so hard to clean and further more it wasn't even properly ironed label and lining of the coat left wrinkly
That is why I do not dry clean most of my clothes nor I would even recommend this place 🤷🏼‍♂️

Unfortunately the tailor here ruined a pair of 100% silk pants. I went in to have an inch taken off the length and asked for the pants to be just past floor length. The tailor, I think her name was Kathy, measured me and put pins in the pants. I went back to pick up the pants and they are way too short… as in, nowhere near touching the ground anymore. It’s clear she just took way more off than she should have. Unfixable as she cut off all the extra silk so now these pants are unwearable. Such a shame as I bought these while traveling and had sentimental value.

When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the lady at the checkout desk, she said there’s nothing they can do and that she’d call me if they change their mind. They haven’t called and I’m not expecting that they will based on the way she handled the situation.

This place is good for basic items that you wouldn’t regret losing. But for any thing with value, I do not recommend taking the risk at this place and you should go somewhere that is higher quality. Wish I got this advice before it was too late with my pants

Atrocious service. J’s used to be my go to cleaners for a year before they became a scam. I had 4 quality issues since December and finally they completely ruined my trench coat which was not even difficult to clean. They haven’t removed dirt stains twice and finally added a ridiculous spill of chemicals over the sleeve which was not even dirty in the first place. Stay as far from J’s as you can unless you want to loose time and money.

I advise the neighborhood to find another local cleaner. I have had a consistently disappointing experience with this dry cleaner. They have repeatedly charged my card incorrectly, adding mysterious $5 fees to every order without explanation. When I brought these discrepancies to their attention, their response was, "That was an accident; we will credit your account." However, those credits never materialize, leaving me to question the integrity of their business practices.

If you value your hard-earned money and expect transparency in transactions, I strongly advise looking elsewhere for your dry cleaning needs.

We are in town for the Edward R Murrow Awards on Monday, 14 October 2024, and thus have a couple of suits and shirts needing cleaning and pressing from travels from LAX to EWR and then in the city to NoMad where we're staying at The James. We went with J's Cleaners for our needs balancing reviews, price, location, turn around time, and customer service and we're incredibly impressed across the board. At least for our experience with two, 2-piece suits and four dress shirts with an overnight rush we came back reasonably well under $100 and got everything back much earlier in the day than originally quoted and were taken great care of by the entire staff which doesn't always happen at a neighborhood joint when you're from out of town, so, thanks to the crew at J's for their stellar assistance and quality work by their in-house staff and the factory that they outsource to / work with.
