When my bridesmaid dress came in and I did not love the fit I brought my dress into Hattan Cleaners to see the tailor Modou. He was able to see my vision of turning the complete wrap around dress into something that fit me like a glove and I did not have to worry about the dress unraveling while dancing the night away. Mo closed up the whole inside of my dress and even redid the bow so it still kept its original design without the hassle of the bow keeping the whole dress closed. He is truly talented and a diamond in the rough in a city with tailors all around. I cannot wait to work with him again in the future and could not recommend him enough! I took a romper in on the 18th to be picked up by the end of day for the 21st . They told me it was ready BUT that was a lie - No alterations were done. They give me back the same thing and when I asked why the stitching looked the same the African American guy told be his work is that good .
However I went  to Rome for my birthday vacation and I had to wear something else. I feel cheated and I want to leave this review so they can improve by doing what they were paid to do . If they needed more time they should have told me it’s not complete instead of lying to me knowing they were fully paid

I gave Alberto half my closet 😂 and he did an EXCEPTIONAL JOB!!! 1000/10 !! I was recommended to him from an associate at the Burberry store and I’m glad I listened ! Not only did he clean my jacket and dress so good but he fixed the zipper on my Mackage coat so clean that you can’t even tell it was altered and the zipper is changed. After I posted my original review (see below) the manager reached out to me. He explained that he was on vacation and sincerely apologized for the inconvenience of my items not being properly cleaned as well as the lack of customer service I had received prior to his call. He agreed to refund me for the items that were not properly cleaned and handled that the next day. I've changed my rating from 1 star to 3 star in leiu of the manager's response. Although I expected all my items to have been cleaned and would have liked it done within the time frame expected, I appreciate the manager for issuing the refund and doing his best to help resolve my issue.

Original Review 04.17.25: Unfortunately,I have to leave a 1 star review for this business. My wife and I were in town for 3 days and brought our clothes here to be dry cleaned. Upon receiving my items, I realized that 2 items weren't cleaned at all and one item was a day later than expected leaving my wife concerned that she wouldn't have her jacket before leaving. I called the establishment to receive a refund, they told me to bring the uncleaned items back but I explained that I couldn't because we had a flight to catch. The employee on the phone said they couldn't refund us but told me they would have a manager call me back. The manager never called me back. I called back multiple times but my calls were not answered and it feels like my number has been blocked. I'm dissatisfied with the lack of courtesy and professionalism to at least help me receive the refund for the services that were not properly rendered. Do yourself a favor and use a more reputable and trustworthy laundry service in the area.

I had a fantastic experience at this dry cleaning shop! The staff was friendly and professional, and my clothes came back looking as good as new. They ruined 1000 USD worth of clothing and lost one of my best silk tops (all dry cleaning, so total about 1200 USD worth of clothing completely gone/ruined—Ravella Italian shirts). When I told them my clothing was ruined, they told me this happens with silk and that area of shirt (the damage also appeared in other parts of the shirts). I had my shirts dry cleaned for years in other states with no issues. No offer for financial compensation even though I’m able to point to the exact retail price. Stay away.

Been going here for a couple of years - everything was fine up until today. I was suppose to pick up clothes on Wednesday - showed up to the store. They told me to come back today. No one called me about the delay. I showed up today and they told me that they lost one of my shirts. “They are looking for it.” They are extremely backed up - something is going on behind the scenes. I’m out a $200 shirt and will never come back here. Encourage everyone to stay away.

Had seven shirts washed and pressed. The turnaround was fast - dropped them in on a Friday and they were ready by Saturday. Unfortunately, that’s where the good experience ended.

One of my shirts came back with every single button chipped or crushed. That particular shirt was hidden right in the middle of the seven.

Unfortunately the tailor here ruined a pair of 100% silk pants. I went in to have an inch taken off the length and asked for the pants to be just past floor length. The tailor, I think her name was Kathy, measured me and put pins in the pants. I went back to pick up the pants and they are way too short… as in, nowhere near touching the ground anymore. It’s clear she just took way more off than she should have. Unfixable as she cut off all the extra silk so now these pants are unwearable. Such a shame as I bought these while traveling and had sentimental value.

When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the lady at the checkout desk, she said there’s nothing they can do and that she’d call me if they change their mind. They haven’t called and I’m not expecting that they will based on the way she handled the situation.

This place is good for basic items that you wouldn’t regret losing. But for any thing with value, I do not recommend taking the risk at this place and you should go somewhere that is higher quality. Wish I got this advice before it was too late with my pants

Atrocious service. J’s used to be my go to cleaners for a year before they became a scam. I had 4 quality issues since December and finally they completely ruined my trench coat which was not even difficult to clean. They haven’t removed dirt stains twice and finally added a ridiculous spill of chemicals over the sleeve which was not even dirty in the first place. Stay as far from J’s as you can unless you want to loose time and money.

I advise the neighborhood to find another local cleaner. I have had a consistently disappointing experience with this dry cleaner. They have repeatedly charged my card incorrectly, adding mysterious $5 fees to every order without explanation. When I brought these discrepancies to their attention, their response was, "That was an accident; we will credit your account." However, those credits never materialize, leaving me to question the integrity of their business practices.

If you value your hard-earned money and expect transparency in transactions, I strongly advise looking elsewhere for your dry cleaning needs.

We are in town for the Edward R Murrow Awards on Monday, 14 October 2024, and thus have a couple of suits and shirts needing cleaning and pressing from travels from LAX to EWR and then in the city to NoMad where we're staying at The James. We went with J's Cleaners for our needs balancing reviews, price, location, turn around time, and customer service and we're incredibly impressed across the board. At least for our experience with two, 2-piece suits and four dress shirts with an overnight rush we came back reasonably well under $100 and got everything back much earlier in the day than originally quoted and were taken great care of by the entire staff which doesn't always happen at a neighborhood joint when you're from out of town, so, thanks to the crew at J's for their stellar assistance and quality work by their in-house staff and the factory that they outsource to / work with. The laundry I had used previously closed during the pandemic.  Finding another good one wasn’t easy, but K&M turned out to be the best!!  They pick up, and deliver the laundry the next day, nicely folded, and smelling great!!  And the price is reasonable! What more could anyone want?? I’ve never used them for dry cleaning or alterations, but based on the laundry experience would not hesitate to try them!

Horrible service! They literally didn’t wash my sheets I clearly can see and it doesn’t smell like detergent at all.

Lost my laundry. First said simple mix up, and when the person who got mine returned it, all would be well. 5 days later, they then say they OUTSOURCE the laundry to a third party, and they lost it. Do they have a tracking system? No. Do they have a phone number I can reach them? No. Their response? Give me a few weeks, hopefully it turns up.

Demanding cash. They offered no solutions. Save yourself the headache, much better prices and service less than a block in any direction.

Never use laundry services!!!!! Ruined all our clothes.

These clothes had been washed and dried in home machines for years and were not delicate or were dry cleaning materials. Vintage Cotton T-shirt’s and reformation stretch pants.

This place is great!  I've been taking my laundry there for almost one year and they have yet to lose any clothing or not have my clothes ready when promised.  The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
